Yes, but there were probably better options. If you're going to quit you might as well take it up the chain first. What do you have to lose at that point? People often quit their bosses, not their company. Oh my god. This is so fucking tragically hilarious. I am/was at 2nd interview stage with another company. I just got drunk dialled by the Managing Director to negotiate the employment terms at 10:30:at night (midnight for him). Think I'll pass on that job I dunno! Sounds like a fun company! Remster

Yep. Curtis jumped one at least a year ago (if not 2) during some headdown bigways. I can't find the name of the website where you could view and pan the video in all directions.... It was pretty cool. Remster

In the time you've been posted on this thread, you should have been able to do 200 jumps. Remster

Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise

I am not an attorney; but I have filed quite a few lawsuits, all in Small Claims Court. Here, in Oregon, you have to give them notice of what your demand is. Then, if they continue/fail to do whatever, you can proceed with litigation. IMO MHS is saying to cease & desist; then if they do not, MHS can proceed with litigation. Jerry Baumchen That makes sense. Thanks. Remster -

Maybe one of our legal bagels (ha!) will comment, but, I always thought it was a bad strategy to threaten to file a lawsuit: either don't sue someone, or sue them and send them the lawsuit. Jerry/Andy? Remster -

Ultra Performance Canopies & AAD
Remster replied to jacketsdb23's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
ASTRA had that.that, and nice colors. Any Idea of why the Astra didn't "take the market" ? Cypres with a kill switch ? please ? Personal theory why Astras never took off: - Battery issues - Need to turn unit off after opening if you had a slightly aggressive canopy / or expecting big turns - Not hidden (back then, people would never think of mandating AADs... There was still some level of mistrust of them, and advertizing you had one was not cool... Although they were starting to become standard) Remster -

In Oregon you can ride in the road; you're riding a vehicle. We have had a rash of bike/auto accidents here in the Portland-area the last few weeks; including one fatality. Jerry Baumchen In all of North America, as far as I know, cyclists can ride in the lane. In fact, it's often the recommended place when there isn't a wide enough shoulder to allow a vehicle to safely pass to take the whole lane to make sure drivers don't try to squeeze by you. Remster

Now the "next guy" can't blame the "last guy" for all the BS that's about to be brought up in the investigations. Remster

I've always had an AAD, and almost all of my jumps were made with one in (there may have been the odd borrowed gear jump after a cutaway kinda thing here and there), BUT, I do not want to see them being mandatory. There's enough reliance on them in some people's mind, I don't want to see that institutionalized. Remster

The only one that is in project phase in Fliteshop. And I really don't know where they're at with the build. Considering competitive issues, I'm not surprised they would keep things quiet until they're ready to go. Remster

Rack this one up to substantiated rumor (ie, I talked with a guy who knows something...) We know about the new tunnel project in Scottsdale (http://www.fliteshop.com/) Apparently, that tickled iFly: I have been told that parts have been ordered for 1 tunnel in Tucson, and 1 in Phoenix. Competition may not lower the prices, but at least it's pushed some development! Still: till the foundations are poured and parts that look like they belong to a tunnel show up on the site, it aint happening yet... PS: that will be 4 tunnels in AZ... 5 if you count Yuma that no one can fly in (booo hiss!). Take that TX! Remster

Wind Tunnel causing over confidence

Having seen "leaders" go up line of flight for a good 10 seconds before turning into the direction they are supposed to be following, yeah.. sure... I'm sure that makes him a pro eXtReMe athlete. Remster
