Because they're cool.

You better be in, girl!!!

Yes, ma'am!

I'm a Honda S2000. Cute car. You live on the edge, and you live for the adrenaline rush. You don't need luxuries, snob appeal, or superfluous gadgets. You put your top down, get your motor revving, and take all the curves that life throws at you at full speed. So what if you spin out occasionally?

Hey J, what size shirt do you need?
-
This might help, huh?
-
Maybe to help clarify a little... If you can't make it to SkyFest, and still want a dz.com/SkyFest shirt, PM me with your real name, shipping address, and shirt size. I'll give you the PayPal email address and other details.

The Dates You Have Been Waiting For (SF06)

Your order has been placed, sir. -
Having to deal with people like you, I would be rude and very unhelpful. Maybe its just you. I've never encountered this problem. The staff I've dealt with have always been very nice and professional, especially for volunteers. Much nicer than manifest people at most dz's. I'd like to say something about registration last year. J was pre-registered and I was not. I was signed in and ready to go before he was. I believe they couldn't find his pre-reg information. I know this happened to several others as well. What's the point of pre-reg if it isn't saving time. Sure, $5 off or whatever helps, but what about having to stand in the minserable heat when you were prepared for it to be a quicky thing. I agree with nomar about the registration. It needs to be more organized.

Good for you! You'll be labeled the town weirdo driver now.

LOL - thanks for that comment!!! Bigway Man I don't care what the plane ticket was, if I had THAT much negative energy and worries about coming to an event I'd eat the plane ticket and stay home. I just don't see from reading all these post how you could possibly have a good time. But good luck no matter what. This is not directed at you, mirage62, in particular. I think Bigway is doing a great job by voicing his concerns and asking for answers. I know too many others that have the same concenrs who are not asking the questions. Maybe that's because they know Bigway is doing it for them. Yes, he's spending alot of money to go. He has made that point, but obviously it's something that is heavy on his mind because he has mentioned it more than a few times. Instead of beating him up over it and giving him a hard time about it, why not try to alleviate some of his concerns with support and answers. $1300 is a hell of alot of money for some people. It's pocket change to others. I, for one, think he's doing a fantastic job of asking questions. It's too bad he isn't getting all of the answers. I understand his question about locking in jump prices. I also understand why that can't be guaranteed. Instead of running around his other questions, why not answer them.

When my ex-husband (who was from England) first went to Texas with me, he asked me why everyone kept waving at us. That really freaked him out. That's funny. I can always tell when we're in Texas. The slower folks pull over to the shoulder to let the faster ones pass. I haven't seen that anywhere else in the country. Good ol' Texans. No wondered we're so proud.

My girl friend likes to tell the story of the first time she took her Puerto Rican (ex) husband (Ray) to her home town in Panama City Beach. They went to the grocery store and did some shopping. As they were about to leave, a bag boy walked up to them and asked Ray, "Can I help ya with yer buggy?" Ray: "My what?" Bagboy: "Yer buggy. Can I help ya with yer buggy?" Ray: "My WHAT?" Bagboy: "Yer buggy. Yer buggy. Do ya need help with yer buggy?" Ray: "My cart?" Bagboy: "We don't gots carts. We gots buggys and you got one rit thar."

Why 2? I would imagine your sweety would prefer a mitten to an XL shirt.

I know. I didn't write it, just posted it. I meant to fix it.

Made it clicky for ya. -
Cool! Just remember to use "y'all" when you're talking about more than 1 person. It's pronounced "yawl." "Y'all" is singular, "all y'all" is plural It's interchangeable. I think I use "y'all" WAY more than I use "all y'all," if I even use that at all. I don't remember using it much.

J, call J when you have a few free minutes.

If you are going to live or visit in the South, you need to know these rules. 1. That farm boy you see at the gas station did more work before breakfast than you do all week at the gym. 2. It's called a "gravel road." No matter how slow you drive, you're going to get dust on your Navigator. Drive it or get out of the way. 3. The red dirt -- it's called clay. Red clay. If you like the color don't wash your car for a couple weeks -- it'll be permanent. 4. We all started hunting and fishing when we were seven years old. Yeah, we saw Bambi. We got over it. 5. Go ahead and bring your $600 Orvis Fly Rod. Don't cry to us if a flathead breaks it off at the handle. We have a name for those little 13-inch trout you fish for -- bait. 6. Pull your pants up. You look like an idiot. 7. If that cell phone rings while a bunch of mallards are making their final approach, we will shoot it. You might want to ensure it's not up to your ear at the time. 8. No, there's no "Vegetarian Special" on the menu. Order steak. Order it rare. Or, you can order the Chef's Salad and pick off the two pounds of ham and turkey. 9. Tea - yeah, we have tea. It comes in a glass over ice and is sweet. You want it hot -- sit it in the sun. You want it unsweetened -- add a lot of water. 10. You bring Coke into my house, it better be brown, wet, and served over ice. 11. So you have a sixty thousand-dollar car. We're real impressed. We have a quarter of a million-dollar combine that we only use two weeks a year. 12. Let's get this straight. We have one stoplight in town. We stop when it's red. We may even stop when it's yellow. 13. We eat dinner together with our families. We pray before we eat (yeah, even breakfast). We go to church on Wednesdays and Sundays and we go to high school football games on Friday nights. We still address our seniors with "yes, sir" and "yes, ma'am," and we sometimes still take Sunday drives around town to see friends and neighbors. 14. We don't do "hurry up" well. 15. Greens - yeah, we have greens, but you don't putt on them. You boil them with salty fatback, bacon or a ham hock. 16. Yeah, we eat catfish, bass, bream (pronounced brim) and carp. You really want sushi and caviar? It's available at the bait shop. 17. They are pigs. That's what they smell like. Get over it. Don't like it? Interstate 75 goes two ways - Interstate 10 goes the other two. Pick one. 18. Grits are corn. You put butter, salt, and maybe even some pepper on them. If you want to put milk and sugar on them, then you want Cream of Wheat - go to Kansas. That would be I-10 west. 19. The "Opener" refers to the first day of deer season or turkey season. Both are holidays. You can get pancakes, maple syrup, and sausage before daylight at the church on either day. 20. So every person in every pickup waves? Yeah, it's called being friendly. Understand the concept? 21. Yeah, we have golf courses. Don't hit in the water hazards. It spooks the fish and bothers the gators - and if you hit it in the rough, we have these things called diamondbacks, and they're not baseball players. 22. That Highway Patrol Officer or Sheriff's Deputy that just pulled you over for driving like an idiot -- his name is "Sir," no matter how young he is. 23 We have lots of pine trees. They have sap. It drips from them. You park your Navigator under them, and they'll leave a logo on your hood. 24. You burn an American flag in our state, you get beat up. No questions!!!! The liberal contingent of our state legislature -- all four of them -- enacted a measure to stop this. There is now a $2.50 fine for beating up the flag burner. 25. No, we don't care how you do things. If it is so great where you came from, why not visit another state or stay there? And no, here, we don't have an accent, you do. Y'all have a good day now, ya hear!

Oh heck yes!!!!!!

I am sorry that your experience was horrible. I promise to try to keep the women more tame this year Wait a minute......No I won't!!!! Oh no!! You can't keep the women tame. That's no fun!!!!

No, that's not at all what it means... unless that what you want it to mean.

SkyFest is A LOT of fun. It's not about the party (but there is a party if that's what you're into) but more about the upcoming jumper. We spend the first thre days (Wed-Fri) focused on them and getting them ready for the weekend. We have organized jumps for all disciplines and for all levels. It's a great time for everyone!! Plus, you can sign up for the pink patch and maybe you'll win a jump with us!!

I saw in another thread that you might try to make it to SkyFest as well. Is that true? Will we get to see you there, too?
