  1. I think your poll is just fine. If people don't like it, they can start their own. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Albert Einstein
  2. Well I pulled about 500' too early on my first jump for this very reason. My planned pull altitude was 5000' and I was able to read the altimeter just fine throughout the freefall. That is, until I saw the needle near the 5. Suddenly, I found myself unable to decipher if I was at 5500' or 4500' so I pulled. It's only because of the photos I know that I pulled at 5500'. I bet my instructors were excited! "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Albert Einstein

    Death Question

I'm a student with 2 jumps so I thought I could give a unique perspective. The best answer is an honest, straightforward one. Everybody figures the answer will be "yes", so I think its real purpose is the follow up question: why/what happened? (So I know what not to do.) The worst situation would be to have an instructor I felt like a couldn't trust. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Albert Einstein
  4. Agreed. This applies to any facet of life really. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Albert Einstein
  5. I would definitely recommend you sign up for the AFF on your next jump. I've got two jumps, both AFF, and there's nothing cooler than being in control of yourself (of course while two instructors are hanging on to you and reminding you to do things that were so easy to remember on the ground). 6. Sure is. I'm comfortable with the people at Perris and their facilities. I don't want to put my life in anyone else's hands just yet. Once I get more experience I'll venture out and try other drop zones. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Albert Einstein
  7. Well here I am. My friend took me for my first skydive for my B-day about 6 weeks ago at Perris. I never knew if I would ever actually skydive before that day, but now I'm hooked. We both did the AFF since he was too heavy for tandem. I did my Level 2 AFF a couple weeks ago and can't wait for level 3! I now seem to spend all my spare time looking at skydiving videos online. As part of my addiction, I came across this site which has been a great resource. I look forward to any tips any of you may have. I don't plan to ever have thousands and thousands of jumps, but I do plan to complete the AFF sequence, continue on to get my A License, and make skydiving a regular part of my life. Blue skies!
