  1. For the music I select all and turn the volume to 0. Then turn the 3 "talking clips" volume back up while selecting the click box for "ducking" which will automatically duck the music volume. Its faster for me than doing it with timelines..
  2. They put everything back in imovie9. That's what we're using for videos now. Its worth the cost of the upgrade.
  3. I love Italy. Spent a semester of college in Venice and fell in love with the country. We ate gelato everywhere we went, and hands down by far Pisa had the best gelato. It was a 3-gelato day when I was there.. There were 2 really good gelato shops in Venice - both between the Accademia and the Ferrara bridges...
  4. UNC-Duke-Wake Forest-NC State The 4 schools are all so close together and especially in basketball the rivalries are insane
  5. None that go through grommits on the bag. Normally all others if for some reason I feel that the rubber band is tight or it's too close to the end I'll do like one and a half first one normal but the second only barely over the end. So more tension than single but not so much as a full double.
  6. I never double-stowed until a few years ago - a friend told me that he was having hard openings on his Velocity - he called PD and they told him to use large rubber bands and double-stow. It worked for him, so I started doing it and it noticeably improved mine. The small line stows on my small canopies don't hold the lines hardly at all - they're just not small enough.. The small rubber bands have maybe a pound of pressure if that because they are just too big to hold the lines taut but too small to double stow...
  7. I'm very interested but everytime I click on the rebate information I get nothing specific. I just worry about buying it and not getting the rebate? Are you getting any more info prior to purchase than I can find?
  8. Just ball it up and shove it about halfway in the container. That should work :-)
  9. They're actually pretty close. I had a Triathlon 99 with Spectra line, and this summer bought a new lineset that was dacron. When we first got it, several of us thought they screwed up and sent us spectra because it was so close in size. I jump that thing in a small Power Racer - the pack volume increased maybe 1-2% in size. It was a pretty small difference. (Definitely made the openings softer though!)
  10. And beyond that I'm a huge murder mystery fan! I love all the standard big names.. Depending on my mood I like science fiction or military fiction as well, but my favorite is definitely the classic whodunits...
  11. My dz got an ad from an old skydiver turned author who wrote a mystery book which was oriented around a Texas dropzone. There were a few goofy parts of the skydiving but it was overall very good and kept my attention enough to finish it in one night. Her website is www.rachelbrady.net and the book is called Final Approach. I liked it.. (And no I don't know her :-)
  12. And if you're doing video - watch for that stuff. I was doing video out of a 182 this summer. The TM was taking someone "older" - I forget how old. When he got his feet out one went in front of the step instead of behind it. I started frantically point it out to the TM because I didn't want her to leave and him break a leg. Between the 2 of us we finally got him in the right position and went on for an uneventful skydive. If I hadn't spotted it, he might have been injured because she couldn't see his leg. Its funny - he knew his leg was in the wrong spot but it was too windy for him to move it he said!
  13. I think its what you're used to. Its SO much easier for me to read a digital than an analog. On the rare occasions I use an analog, every time I look at it I have to contemplate for a couple of seconds what altitude it is while its obvious with a digital. But I grew up with 100% digital clocks and have to think to read an analog clock as well..
  14. Digital's in general or Neptunes? As long as I remember to turn my Viso on at the beginning of the day, I've had 0 issues in 2000 jump. As long as my Digitude turned on in the ground, I had 0 issues with it. Neptunes on the other hand, I've seen lots of issues with in freefall. One tandem master was happy I wore a chest mount when his quit in the middle of a skydive. I've seen a LOT of issues with neptunes, but zero with Visos or the old Digitudes as long as they turned on on the ground. Our student Galaxies however, have a regular issue with "sticking." They always read 500 feet behind the digitals, and I've witnessed (even reading the student's altimeter) the altimeter sticking for quite a while and then jumping a thousand plus feet...
  15. Jumpshack changed some of my Racers over to having a second "large ring" for risers to attach to just below the regular one. It makes for a clean setup. We just have a "soft housings" we made up for the cutaway handle to go through and then I wear the secondary cutaway handle on the chest strap.
  16. Yeah the bigger canopy is usually on top just purely because of line length issues.. Yes - if the front canopy is floatier it should make it easier. I would start with quarter brakes and deepen it from there depending on how it feels. The more brakes you add I would think the rebound effect would be less... And certainly you'll have more control in brakes than full flight... (No one has a bigger canopy you can borrow? )
  17. Wow - it never occurred to me someone would try to do a ghostplane with 9-cells - much less highly loaded 9-cells! You'll find everything works far better if you get some lightly loaded 7-cells.. As far as the canopy going crazy - I'll bet money it has nothing to do with the trim of the canopy. The 140 almost certainly has longer lines than the 120. So when the 120 is on top/in front - and you're all the way down - its blocking the air from the front of the other canopy which is why it acts crazy. Any other configuration of the 2 both canopies are still getting air into the nose and its fine. Generally when doing ghostplanes/downplanes and other things like that, life is a lot easier if you put the bigger canopy on top. I would be trying brake input on the guy flying. Probably most of the flight. It'll help you match descent rate. If you think about it though too - you had a much more highly wing-loaded canopy in the front, and then chopped the lighter one. That's going to really contribute to the front canopy wanting to dive and the back one float.
  18. When I was at 0-100 jumps, I thought the sport was dangerous. Between 100-500 jumps or so I thought it wasn't nearly as dangerous as people said. Since then, I KNOW how frigging dangerous it is. I mean - I've traveled a lot - met skydivers from all over the country - but typically I know 2-3 people most years who die from this sport, That drives the danger home. Its easy if you jump at a Cessna dz and never travel to go years without seeing serious injury or death.. That's just statistics though..
  19. Come on out to Skydive Temple! We're a smaller dz than San Marcos, but its very friendly and you become family quickly. You'll get a lot of personal attention here. Wendy
  20. Current record here: http://www.cfworldrecord.com/2007/photos.html The 2005 records are here: http://www.cfworldrecord.com/2005/default.html
  21. Find the other people who love em - people like me collect them like some people collect stamps :-) (I own 8) I love the fact that they resell cheap so I can buy em and never sell them...
  22. I'm still in shock at her passing. It was always good to see her at the various CRW events around.. She'll be missed by all..
  23. Jumpshack set up some of my Racers for tertiary systems. Its a complete other set of rings. I attach a cutaway handle to my chest strap. I pack the 1st canopy deployed in a regular dbag with a regular pilot chute, exit "sit-flying" facing the tail and as soon as I'm clear of the plane toss the pc...
  24. No clue about the odds. I have several rigs with additional 3 rings set up for intentional cutaways. The 3rd main is attached to the spare rings and I exit in a sitfly And then just toss the pc
