  1. Sad news. Condolences. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73
  2. The problem here is mistaking 'labia' for 'vagina'. The mons and labia are the aesthetic playground. The vagina is the Tunnel of Love. Maybe it's not as narrow or tight as it used to be; there's a fix for that if one is wanted. I'm noone to tell another adult what to do to their body, but the MJ comment is spot on. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Leave those soft Gates of Desire alone! Pussies are great as they are, varying shapes, sizes, colors, &c. Leave 'em be, ladies! Unless, of course, you're using them! 3. Foul! There's a reason the Right to keep and bear arms is the Second Amendment - only one Right is superior. The Right to free speech is the first and foremost fundamental right, and our forefathers were wise enough to see that. They were equally wise in seeing the second most important right is the right to defend those words, or to stand up against tyranny, or to protect ourselves and/or our neighbors against any threat. Ultimately, this tragedy sheds light on the real problem with guns in America: They are wrongly governed! What this country needs is fewer and better gun laws. Insofar as legally eligible gun owners are concerned, a few simple STATE laws are all that is needed to solve the "gun problem". 1 - Mandatory weapons-handling training for the weapon class and specific weapon owned/purchased. 2 - Mandatory skills assessment/qualification. 3 - Mandatory recurrency (10 year cycle, perhaps). 4 - Unrestricted carry privileges for those who quailify based on 1, 2 and 3. IMO, that would pretty much take care of situations like the Aurora shootings. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

  5. Jerome, this is not a knock on your gear at all, which is excellent IMO. I mentioned that right up front and hope you don't percieve this as such. Other rigs can and do get stuff in the reserve tray, as we've all seen. It just happens that because of the Seven's unique design debris can work its way into the reserve packtray much more easily than with 4 (or more) flap rigs. But this isn't about the Seven other than drawing attention to the situation; it's about the AAD cutter, especially in connection with the Seven. At this point it's a matter of curiousity and interest. Anyone know if there have been cutter tests involving obstructions? Data? Cheers. 6. Not a slam or comment for or against any H/C or AAD - just interested in discussing the issue. I received a Basik Seven today for I&R. AFAIK it is common knowlege that a "con" for the Seven is that because of the freebag/reserve container design it is prone to accumulating debris in the reserve tray. With this jumper's extensive travels and use, this rig has quite a bit of debris collected in the tray. What concerns me is that amid the debris are six or more pebbles which could fit into the cutter head. Also, there was some sand and dirt around the bottom flap grommet (below the pilot chute) but nothing larger than a grain. I'll check the cutter pocket when I inspect the rig later, but I didn't have the opportunity to see if any of the pebbles were near the cutter when I opened the tray; I shifted the rig before noticing the amount of collected dirt. Does anyone know if cutter vs pebbles, etc. has been tested? Data available? Other riggers thoughts, experiences? Lastly, I'd like to encourage AAD equipped Seven jumpers to be mindful when landing and when handling your Seven. Cheers. 7. Go to your profile. Look at the present avatar in the upper left corner; there you will see a button that reads "Edit Picture". "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73
  8. Thought of Mark today. I'll raise a in his memory tonight, and wish a heart-felt "FUCK HIM!" Hope there's demo jumping in heaven, or hell, or wherever he is. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

  11. It is my understanding that in the U.S. foreign gear is legal for use by the visiting foreigner if the gear is approved, legal and maintained according to the governing body of the foreign country. As far as I know that includes that AAD. So if your gear is legal in your country (Ireland) and you bring it to America to jump it yourself, you should be fine. Hope this helps. Anyone with more or better info, please correct away. Edit to change Israel to Ireland. Sorry for the mix-up. That'll teach me to squint and strain. Next time, I'll find the seeing glasses first! 15. Thanks for the great info, Peter. There was a bit of old tacking tightly coiled and knotted to the upper housing but I wasn't able to find any holes or wear marks indicating where it may have been attached. The lower end was hanging on by just a bit of tacking and easily came away from the chest strap when I applied pressure. That end was easy enough to re-tack. Thanks again for the info - maybe I'll get this rig finished tonight! Have a good weekend! 16. Received a rig with a free-floating reserve ripcord housing. Not sure about the upper end attachment and it's not shown in my manuals. Anyone have a photo of the upper end attachment of the reserve ripcord housing for a Wings HC? Cheers! 20. Yep - two vs the eight, ten on a typical bag. I figure that reduces band use 5x. Problem solved! "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

  23. Rather than start a new thread, I'm posting here for a brief rant. All the comfort foam being used in H/Cs today sure makes them comfortable. It also makes the rig heavy as hell when washed, and drying time is off the charts! It'll be nice, however, to present a clean, handsome rig back to the owner. ...after the thing dries and can be assembled and re-packed!!!
