  1. one of my cardiologists is a skydiver..he gets it. im having the procedure done next month so hopefully this wont be a problem at all soon i was prescribed beta blockers but those things make me so tired so ive opted to deal.. thanks for the advice
  2. Im a new skydiver and i also have a supraventricular tachycardia.. Its rarely a problem in my day to day life but lately ive been having episodes upon landing..this makes total sense since one of the main causes of an episode is adrenaline and often they start as a result the initial jolt with the ground im hoping to get it fixed with cardiac catheterization pretty soon but im curious to know if any other jumpers have had any experience with svt? has it ever happened mid-air?? how do you lower your heart rate when you get into a sticky situation? just curious..thanks in advance -Heather
  3. swoop into his backyard and kick him in the face while i swoop and land and then turn to him and say "that was awesome!". One day.... ha
  4. i think that a tandem is good for your first jump, you dont want to be worried about all the responsibilities you need to do to survive if youre straped to someone, you know? my first tandem was incredible..my first solo was a total sensory overload and i barely got the chance to enjoy the scenery... so i say do a tandem, just to know what it feels like to fly
  5. but keep having this nagging sensation that sky-diving is where I belong. Is this normal?!! *** :) yes welcome..so far the feelings have just get stronger
  6. Quotejust a funny video for your viewing pleasure, watch it to the end... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiaN5x2dn7k *** thats so funny.
  7. the scariest part is the plane ride to altitude..once you get out in the air though i think most people's butterflies stay on the plane. its funny how you actually feel safer in freefall than you do in the plane when you land and you will prob want to go up again on the next load.
  8. yeah i was lucky to find an entire quality used rig for 2,800 except it needs an AAD i put a big down payment on so it would hurt less every month
  9. yes thanks, i moved it to get more responses :)
  10. well basically its like a "ghost rig" so i can make payments towards something to own instead of paying 70 bucks to rent equipment every day i just pay 100 a month and i get free equipment rental until its totally payed off i should be payed off by december 09
  11. hey! im new here and new to skydiving and im sure this has been discussed but i need some advice on a canopy. Right now i have 11 jumps..fresh off AFF , i weigh around 135 and have been jumping a Nav 200. At the advice of my instructors i recently i put a down payment rig (its still flexible since im not sure what i want yet).. the main i was looking at is a 150 Triathlon and i wouldn't be jumping on it for a good year or so i plan to jump the 200 then downsize to 190, then 170 and finally pay off my rig and jump the 150 but this will take me a long time For those of you with Triathlons..how is it? a good novice rig?
