yes, and the King of Pill Amps is DAVE: http://www.davemade.com/ Dave is reportedly a ham. Dave doesnt care too much about output filters. Dave thinks the FCC can go ---- themselves. Some truckers are running 8KW CBs using Dave's amps. They run two huge Niehoff alternators and connect the amp with 0/0 welding cable, really. I saw photos of such an installation. The trucker had trouble with corona discharge melting the tip of his antenna. Dave also makes the GOD ROD CB antenna. I am surprised BK hasnt chimed in on this CB stuff. He seems like someone who'd be part of that scene. I am planning a future jump using a late 60s CB walkie talkie just to show what might have been possible. Go ahead and take your shot G. I am wearing a Kevlar jumpsuit. 377 Funny. One out is enough then you're home free - Jo has the page screwed up again ? Super long/wide. Part-II to "Kenny was Gay" comes later tonight. Then we may have some folks drop by Dropzone on Wednesday, if all goes well. One day at a time. BTW: thanks for correcting me on FAA/FCC. I about crapped when I looked back. Yep a senior moment for sure - damn. But I appreciated your correction. Thanks, G.

You are slipping Geoger. The FCC isssues ham licenses, not the FAA, but you knew that being an Amateur Radio licensee yourself. Lately the FCC is spending a lot of effort appealing the reversal of their ridiculous $550,000.00 Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" fine levied against CBS. Don't they have anything better to do? How do they calculate the fine? Why not $500 or $30,000 or $11,234.99 ?How do you quantify perceived obscenity? I bet they have an entire staff of sociologists, accountants and statisticians devoted to that crucial task. After all, the public must be protected from glimpses of bare breasts at all costs. http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2011/11/02/cbs_wins_appeal_over_janet_jacksons_su back in the 70's the FCC didn't play, my dad got me a TRC-30 23 channe CB and I met a guy called the green hornet, this guy had a browning tube type two piece unit with a VFO so he could go lower and high freq wise, had a blackcat 2000 watt amplifier with a wilson quad antena about 75 feet up, they went on his property and took every single piece of equipment he had. I can't remember if he got a fine or not. now a days I think they could care less, I have a Royce 40 channel with a Heathkit sb-200 and a varmit 150 as a kicker and would bet the FCC wouldn't do anything even if someone complained. Remember the Tempo-I ? not ringing a bell? You could slide right into 11 mtrs with them from 10 meters - - they were a favorite of CBers and truckers around here. One guy west of here on a hilltop had a tower up with a four quad array and a 2000 watt linear. The FCC came into to town and took it all. He was a supervisor in Uiversity Maint. He moved his family out to the UI Oakdale Campus and set it all up again. The university shut him down there.

The Georger Gay Card: As if being gay would preclude Kenny from being the hijacker? I would say 'living the gay lifestyle' is a stretch. Kenny mostly dressed in coveralls and his co-workers did not know he was gay. He did not do effeminate, if you get my drift. And somehow the US Army paratroopers didn't figure it out either, otherwise he would have ended up with a DD or in jail. And while others were serving on Schmoo the Miserable Rock for no more than 18 months (Shemya Island, AK) he toughed it out for almost five years. As far as being gay, he wasn't obvious about it. We discovered this through interviews. Your claim of a radio interview where Lyle says KC wasn't the guy, or it was all a joke is also unproven, yet you continue to promote that fable. So you deny what Geoff Gray wrote in his New Yorker article of Oct 2007? You deny all of the young men visiting, being brought to, or living at the bungalo and other places with Kenny - all documented by Gray? Neither you or DECODED even mention any of this - why? Are you now going to have another REVISION and write Kenny in as Gay - with gayness being part of the motivation for the Cooper hijacking? The gay man who was mad with a grudge against straight NWA? A carnival game inventor could write that script? Lastly your denial and claim I am lying about a radio program - while you know damned well its real - is just like your claim I am lying about Geoff Gray's remarks. That is a low blow and a very cheap shot for a guy to make knowing full well the probability is Georger is NOT lying, has the evidence, .... hell you may even know the facts yourself and just be playing with all of us! Wouldnt that be typical? Blevins it is you who has no credibility here or elsewhere, by almost universal acclaim! What do you gain by such bottom feeding tactics which destroy anychance of credibility you might have had? Or, does credibility just have no value in this for you at all, and this is all some kind of game for you? Toying with history and people's lives including our lives here? What is your excuse? The radio program existed and still exists! The producer and show host exist. I have talked to them. I have their written statements. Make no mistake about this, Mr. RobertMBlevins. Moreover none of this is new to Gray and Porteous! They knew all about it in 2009 and I have statements they made! This is a "done deal", Mr. Blevins. What's your excuse? Geoff Gray's 2007 article in New Yorker speaks clearly for itself. No mystery there and a well written factual article, as it appears at this juncture. Nothing so far that contradicts Geoff's article - which you ignored completely! So beyond me, who are you going to blame and call a liar now? Mr. Porteous? Are you now going to claim he steared you in the wrong direction and gave you faulty information about Kenny's life!? I can contradict that in an instant because, Mr. Porteous was already on record BEFORE you even existed in this debacle. The contrivance is yours, Mr. Blevins, and nobody elses. Unless you now want to claim stupidity or a "conspiracy" with someone else to make things up .... Remember, Mr. Blevins, you tried to convince the FBI your story had credibility and got up their backs when they would not 'investigate' according to your claims and concepts/theories. You put a public burden on the FBI with your junk . . . not to mention the American public, us, and Dropzone. You went on national tv with your suppositions! And you are calling "me" a liar over a radio program that has existed for generations in which Lyle Christiansen appeared? There may even be a document where you reared up suddenly out of nowhere in 2009, and speaking for everyone apparently, (people didnt even know who RobertMBlevins was!), and you denied Lyle had ever retracted anything anywhere ... so nothing I am saying is even news to you, is it! Why are you being coy now asking what radio program? Claiming I am a liar. What game are you playing now with this sudden lsos of memory!? Thats a pretty tall order for people to swallow, Mr. RobertMBlevins. You rose up and issued written denials in 2009 saying Lyle had never-ever retracted anything, in any venue, and now you are here asking 'what radio program is Georger lying about' ? Whats your next revision of the previous revision, of the revision before that, and the one before it!?

Who is WE? Just to be correct about this and avoid any future misunderstanding you will claim you never said ...

The Georger Gay Card: Georger Gay Card ? Im not gay. Oh you mean Kenny's gay card ? So you have known about this all along while arguing (stating repeatedly) 'Kenny was not gay'. Which Get Out of Jail Card are you now going to play - next? Next comes the actual evidence and a a new guest appearance or two I and others have collected while you have been jabbering away your political crap and other off-topic posts here at DZ.

Nope. Many 1 watt and even some 5 watt CB walkie talkies were available in 71. Ranges of several miles even without line of sight was routine. CB signals (27 MHz) seem to be propagate better in hilly areas than VHF or UHF signals of the same power. I had some 100 miliwatt (1/10th of a watt) CB walkie talkies in the 60s and could talk ten miles with a clear line of sight, e.g. one person on a mountain peak and the other in a distant valley with line of sight to the peak. Again, zero evidence that Cooper used radios. I just like the idea. 377 What walkie talkie - inflatable raft - wadders - Cave 16inch telescope - .457 magnum - swim mask and fins - shark cage - canoe paddle - and more walkie talkies, and gladiator games in your closet and under your bed with Pirates and Pirate Ships appearing to you at night? Should we not just admit Cooper had an FAA Ham Radio license and knew the King of Jordan and 377! A much more plausible theory is that Kenny Christiansen was well-known gay man collecting your men at his bungalo and bringing them home, and the whole world saw it and knew it, and was not DB Cooper - and that is no phantom theory and was already known back in the 1970-80s ? Lyle then stated publically his brother was not DB Cooper, so far as he knew! (but just a good story fit for a movie script) Will you and Blevins be writing a book together with symposia about radios and walking backwards down slopes - on your hands while talking on a walkie talkies to the King of Jordan by Porteous skip?

Kenneth Christiansen was simply a gay man living a gay man's life, for the era he lived in and had no part in the socalled DB Cooper hijacking. Moreover, no serious person including Lyle Christiansen has ever claimed that, and Lyle Christiansen denied it publically on at least one documented ocassion. There is abundant proof of this starting with Gray's and Porteous' published account of Kenneth Christiansen, (based on witness testimony), in Oct 2007. Then following immediately the Gray New Yorker article, Lyle Christiansen was interviewed on a syndicated radio program in November 2007, and Lyle said 'it's nothing more than a good story, something I thought would make a good story' (Lyle wanted a movie made of). And when asked directly if he thought Kenny was or had been DB Cooper, Lyle replied flatly laughing, 'No ...', and he explained again his sole thought had been 'to convey a good story to a movie producer', and nothing more. Both Porteous and Gray discussed Kenny being gay with a number of people in 2007, including people who had known Kenny personally, and even lived with Kenny. The serious effort to prove or claim that Kenneth Christiansen was actually DB Cooper came years later, after Mr. Blevins joined 'the new project'. Prior to that neither Lyle Christiansen or Mr. Porteous, or Geoff Gray, actually thought Kenny Christiansen was DB Cooper, or anything but a "gay man". Accounts of Kenny being gay and living a gay lifestyle, supporting his life style, are right in Gray's original New Yorker article "Unmasked". Neither Mr. Porteous or Mr. Gray, or anyone else involved in the original research, has ever recanted or changed their accounts, of Kenny being gay and living a gay life style. Blevins only defense claiming 'Kenny was not gay!' is his referece to Mr. Geestman saying that Mr. Geestman was married' - whatever that has to do with Kenny or anything else. Mr. Blevins seems to be totally unaware or has chosen to ignore this documented prior history, concerning the Porteous-Gray investigation of Kenny Christiansen. Mr. Blevins has never to my knowledge mentioned or even acknowledged, that a prior investigative history exists from research both Porteous and Gray did, in the 2007 period. Blevins has never even mentioned the names and people known to be Kenny's personal associates, some of who even lived with Kenny in the infamous 'bungalo', who were interviewed by Porteous and Gray, and then written about by Geoff Gray. Moreover, the whole Decoded staff ignored this factual rich history - while at the same time they are exploring supposed attic trap doors etc, where Kenny and his personal friends lived for so many years! Shouldn't Mr. Blevins have advised his colleagues on the Decoded staff of the rich factual history and names of people who actually lived with Kenny at the 'bungalo'? Why did Decoded not interview those folks, while persuing Mr. Geestman at Blevins' behest, who never lived at the 'bungalo'!! But the prior facts from the period are real and docuemnted, whether Mr. Blevins or DECODED acknowledges them or not. It's not something Blevins or DECODED can simply sweep under the rug, or deny, circumvent, distort, et cetera. There was not one word uttered in the DECODED program about Kenneth Christian being gay, one of the fundamental facts and dynamics of KC's life! That dynamic undoubtedly leads places Mr. Blevins has chosen not to go, or even dreamed of, in his quest for a book about "a gay man"!. And not one word about all of the other people who lived at the 'bungalo' along with KC! Geoff Gray and Mr. Porteous found and interviewed those people - why not RobertMBlevins and the DECODED staff and producer? to be continued -

Some of the best times in my life have come while playing Cochran songs with the amp volume set at '5' or higher. My favorite is Something Else. A close second is Summertime Blues. ---------------------- "If I'd observed all the rules, I'd never have got anywhere..." Marilyn Monroe How very unfortunate! Now we understand - thanks for sharing that with the Group. Did you work on any of the things we talked about in Group last week? ? ? ?

Never said Waylon was the coin-tosser in the article, either. I don't even mention the coin toss. I merely put up a link to a YouTube video at the end of the article where Tommy Allsup discusses the coin flip with Valens. The reason I put up a photo of Waylon Jennings and Holly onstage was simply because I liked the pic of the two of them together. Robert99 disagrees with himself: If he was fixated on the Sperry and not watching the other instruments...and he was unfamiliar with it...then how can you NOT blame that as a major cause? See 'Cab4' attachment below. The CAB thought it was a major cause, since the other instruments would be fluctuating. Hmmm. Are you an expert in these matters or are you just quoting from articles/reports as if you were an expert? Surely there are other reports and findings, by different people. How would you know who is the expert and who is not? Or do you just have a knack for "truth" no matter the subject or the report, or the people involved? Would you be open to having your genome studied? So that the world could benefit from your remarkable abilities? Most people have to study for at least 1 hour to know the Sperry-thingie at all. Either you are a pilot and know this 'thingie' from personal experience, or, ... well I hate to think of the alternatives! You could be the key to somebody's future.

Jo, Take Amazon's advice and relax. Jo, others say the same - it is the weekend and people will be away from their phones and email ... they say regards but 'need a break'! They wish you well. Thanks.

This plainly states that the pilot did not have an instrument rating in the first place. Found this a little disturbing....Peterson (pilot) 21 years old was a pilot about 4 years, had a hearing problem and was known to panic on night flights!! how the hell this guy was flying was beyond me. Robert99 it's sad we lost three greats that evening which also could have been Waylon Jennings who lost the coin toss and took the bus that night... just added, I was mistaken Jennings was replaced by the big bopper because he had the flu and wanted to fly, Anderson and Valens coin tossed. Found this a little disturbing....Peterson (pilot) 21 years old was a pilot about 4 years, had a hearing problem and was known to panic on night flights!! are you kidding me! This happened in our back yard, so to speak. There is a yearly celebration of life here. Always well attended. 99's and your facts are in agreement here, and well known. We had Obama here today in the Pentacrest, Coach Hayden Fry-fest (50,000 attended that in Coralville), plus ISU/UI pre-game today at Kinnick. Total zoo here - streets closed - I80 and I380 backed up for miles ... organised chaos that all went well... nice day in the neighborhood. I (we) have some new research to share and will asap. One party is thinking about coming here to join in on this - so waiting on that decision. G.

You mean you posted up all of that without knowing if your source(s) are correct and lacking fact-check? Well, that's certainly responsible. (*laughs*) Let me know when you find this 'interview'. Well, Mister Blevins - where are you? Why the sudden silence, after dominating Dropzone for so many months and years? Stalling for time? To compose a response? Something definately happened in the last two weeks of November 2007, following Geoff Gray's release of "Unmasking DB Cooper" Oct 21st of 2007, in which he (and Porteous) name Kenneth Chrisiansen in the New Yorker Magazine, as a prime suspect in the DB Cooper case. Then, following Lyle Christiansen's personal interview on radio in late Nov 2007, Porteous suddenly went silent in response to inquiries, then YOU suddenly surfaced for the first time ever (people didnt even know who you were!), fielding inquiries made to Mr. Porteous. You surfaced issuing denials, out of the blue. And people asked: "Who is RobertMBlevins !" ? Geoff Gray's article introducing Lyle and Kenneth Christiansen mentions "Skipp Porteous", but it doesn't mention a "RobertMBlevins", at all. You registered here at DZ Aug 1 of 2010. But you had been active in the Christiansen background working with Porteous, since at least November of 2007. That's a lot of preparation for finally coming to Dropzone. Do I have the dates right?
-
You mean you posted up all of that without knowing if your source(s) are correct and lacking fact-check? Well, that's certainly responsible. (*laughs*) Let me know when you find this 'interview'. Strange! So aside from your smarm you are fully capable of non-diversion quick to-the-point response. Amazing! Guess your diversions and avoidances are intentional and just tactical ! What else is an act? Did you give any thought to 'if I say this then ...', or 'if I say that, then ...'. And, what if it's real? Then what? I notice you havent issued a denial, which is further evidence everything you do "is" intentional, since if the story is true you know very well it's true, already! Avert, divert, sidetrack, avoid ... and still get the message out, ie. the job done. "He's the smartest investigator I ever ran into". Blevins, if you were part of the story, then you already know the story. You dont need me to tell it!

It's a simple concept. Consider this: If the full body of witness testimony and documentation that I have presented about KC had been presented within twelve months AFTER the hijacking, I think the FBI would have spoken to these people right away. Forty years later? Who can say...their current position is that Cooper died in the jump anyway, and had little or no chute experience. But again, these are the same people who went public with Marla in a fairly big way, and got burned. I don't know. Maybe someone will take what I discovered and try to figure it all out somewhere down the road. Was he or wasn't he the guy? You got me, that's for sure. There you go with concepts again. I snipped the paragraphs of repeated BS above that ... Here's a NEW concept! If my sources are correct (stll fact-checking that) Lyle Christiansen was interviewed on a talk show in November of 2007 (national syndication), and was asked 'what is really going on with your story about your brother being DB Cooper?', and Lyle laughed and paused a bit and replied: 'I just liked the story and thought it would be a good story'. The interviewer then asked Lyle directly: "Do you believe your brother was DB Cooper?", to which Lyle replied laughing, "No". Soon after the broadcast several people contacted Mr. Porteous and asked for his comment. Apparently nobody received a reply from Mr. porteous. Email was sent to Porteous and still no reply. Shortly after this you surfaced and contacted at least one of the people who had contacted Porteous, and you disavowed Lyles' statements made during his radio broadcast, with accompanying harsh commentary. This program was not on "Coast-to-Coast" but another network. Would you care to comment ? Please be brief. Secondly, arent all of your effort here at Dropzone designed to keep the Kenny story alive, to keep the possibility of a script alive, and havent you and several other people discussed this? Would you care to comment about that ? Please be brief. Do you want to guess who my source in New York City is?

One meeting in Seattle and four emails in three years does not a partnership make...and I didn't get the idea about judging height from Gray. If it were so damn easy...how come the witnesses....the people who actually SAW Cooper, could not agree? . So I did hit a soft spot! So you are making all of this up yourself, with a little help from, Gayla etal? Just as Gray warned years ago you would do! ? AB Books does specialise in bad science fiction - yes? You have advertised it many-many-many times before here. Who is the physicist? You or Gayla? How many people ARE responsible for your flim flammary fosited off on the internet? In your case Blevins: its like throwing peanuts at a monkey to see which way he will jump (or type) next. Looking for any sign of rational human thought. Its entertainment, and you are the monkey. Thanks for the show! Definately a dime's worth. Except peanuts these days are $5.00 a bag, not a dime! And $12.50-$17.50 in some locations! What's your percentage on each bag sold?
-
I have nothing against them questioning witnesses - I just don't think you can totally disregard witness statements from the day - especially Tina's - who did see him standing up, had a good frame of reference, and saw him for an extended length of time.
-
Though he didnt state it explicitely, I thought he implied his source is Geoff Gray (Geoff Gray's book). His inference all along is that he and Geoff Gray are a team now - which may come as news to Geoff Gray! Sham Wow will do amazing thingies.
-
Yea, real life is a bitch, especially when you yell FIRE! in a theatre. Always use a source that fits your preconceived destination. What were Ckret's source files? Cooper doesn't look "unique" - to a white shark.
-
Let me get this straight. After all of that, you are trying to tell me that you believe eyewitness accounts in the Cooper case agree, and are overwhelmingly accurate? I think we will have to differ here. Yes, I believe that it could be more difficult to judge someone's true height within an inch or two inside the confines of a passenger aircraft. Especially if the key witnesses mostly saw the person in question sitting down and were under a lot of stress. More diversion, subject shifting, and feined ADD from Blevins. Farflung said: "The stewardess who was 5’ 8” had to look up to Cooper and therefore knew he was taller than her. No weird and freaky optical illusions involved..." Farflung did not say: "you believe eyewitness accounts in the Cooper case agree". Blevins said that! What optical illusions are involved inside an aircraft when people are standing in front of each other? Look up or look down, one at the other. Are you now claiming Cooper crawled in the plane on his kness or his ass and schleped up into a seat in a fetal position and never stood (next to anyone) at all? That he never stood before Hal Willians buying the ticket. That he never stood next to fellow passengers boarding? That he never was standing before Flo or Tina, even when putting on the parachute? That Hancock did not see him standing beside Tina? 5'8" versus 6 feet plus is a large discrepancy by any standard ... on plane, land, or sea. This is childish on your part. A grown man trying to fool Physicists!

Quick response I may regret - Porteous did a pretty good job. Hard to think and do follow up in a pressure situation like this, where Rataczak is a primary witness and hard to get in the first place. The whole interview is good. My only "wish" is Porteous had asked why R. thought (or knew) they were over the Cascades, and where over the Cascades. R does refer to the NWA map which he seems to agree with - so that may define 'where over the Cascades'. Porteous asked nothing about the Washougal or the money find. Oh well. Pretty damned good job! By Porteous. You did not do the interview so credit goes where credit is due - Blevins, you should have published this a long time ago. I like Porteous' cool even style. That's a welcome change of pace coming from your direction What made you finally publish this? Farflung? G.

Isaiah 42:16 - and I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. Its good you have editing skills - sortof.

Rataczak was correct in saying that, when in flight, the stairs would drop only partially down when the release handle was turned. As humans or cargo were placed on the stairs, the stairs would lower further and then return to their partially down position when the loads were removed. It has been discussed on this thread before (as has probably everything on the earth and in the universe), but this only partially opening matter reveals a number of possibilities and probabilities. The video of the paratroopers jumping down the stairs of 727s in southeast Asia indicates that there was no movement of the stairs between jumpers. It doesn't take much of a jump to realize that those stairs were locked down. And there is no indication that the stairs ever locked down during any hijacker's jump or during the FBI tests. And it doesn't take much of an additional jump to understand that the southeast Asia 727s had rear stairs that were deliberately modified so that they could be lowered and locked down. This would require an electric motor in the stair area to do the lowering and a suitable control panel for the modified stairs. This would explain why Cooper was not familiar with the rear stair lowering procedure and control panel on the NWA aircraft since he had probably never seen one like it before. However, Cooper did possess more information about 727 operations with the stairs down, or partially down, than the hijacked flight crew. Cooper knew that the 727 could take off with the rear stairs "unlocked", this doesn't mean that they were fully down and locked, and that he could parachute from those stairs. Coupled with the aircraft configuration Cooper specified, this means that Cooper probably had first hand information about the capabilities of the 727s used in southeast Asia. But it doesn't mean that Cooper himself wa an experienced parachutist. Robert99 I tend to agree with most of this, but I think it is premature to discuss too many particulars (as Blevins regularly does), until more actual facts are known. Cooper did this - Cooper did that - Cooper had to be doing this or that - the only way Cooper could have done x,y, or z, is by this or that - and other ass-hatology.
