  1. I've never heard the term line equalization diaper but i assume you mean a Strong diaper with half the lines in it. Putting all of lines in the diaper to lock it with the rest of the lines in the container completely defeats the purpose, may/ will result in the diaper releasing before the lines in the container deploy greatly increasing the chance of a malfunction, and simply doesn't follow the manual or the tso'd configuration. Educate the new rigger to follow the manual and why, and try to educate the rigger that told him to do it that way not to try to make it up as he goes. This is one of the worst cases of "creative" rigging I've heard of. I hate to think of what he is doing to make those locking stows tight enough to not come out. While his concern may be correct his solution is no better and illegal in the US in not following the manual. If in the U.S. he's in need of reevaluation by the administrator. I'm old for my age. 2. No tech advisor. Just photoshop person. Check out the arms. Looks like they reversed him and then painted out the face and painted some more. Gripper blogs are painted in I think. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  3. Wear it on a chest mount. When we all did we could read the one across from us. Or a mud flap mount but i don't like them myself. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  4. Advice? That every opinion that you expressed and action you said you were considering is wrong. Buy a protec helmet, buy goggles buy a used jumpsuit, forget gopro cameras exist, buy an altimeter. Jumpsuits not only aid in flying they offer protection and prevent clothing from interferring with your equipment. BTW you need a loose jumpsuit in the winter so you can wear winter layers under it. Start talking to instructors instead of reading newbies on the internet. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  5. Which is interesting, because the court transcript says: maybe some concerned citizen ought to ask the unemployment office to start a fraud investigation since she seems to spend all of her time trying to close the DZ instead of looking for work. I like the way you think! In my state to receive unemployment you have to certify and prove if asked that you are actively looking for work. No clue about Colorado. I'm old for my age. 6. see image Was available at Sanders rally Monday. And I missed out. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  7. This was in service? With who? A blind packer with no fingers. Who gets to pack student rigs where this was? The homeless? I've seen one held on by 2 loose stitches that i pulled off easily but that was on a personal rig packed by the low time owner. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  8. Hell, I only paid about $500 for my new custom super raven IV. Must have been the best investment I ever made! I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  9. If you think that's too good to be true I've got one just like that that I'll sell you for $2500. That's an appropriate price for the equipment. No signs of stolen to me. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  10. Ripcord handles do not wear out and do not need powder coating to 'last'. I suggest that if you want a colored handle you buy one of the above and then your TSO'd piece of equipment will not be altered. Ripcords can be substituted at the discretion of a rigger, not the owner. IF you do something yourself make sure you do not obliterate the stamped makings on your ripcord. They may be required by the TSO and provide information that may be needed for service bulletins. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  11. I was just looking at one of those engines yesterday at the Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum. Snow day for the kids. http://www.airzoo.org/ They have everything from model engines up to a Rocketdyne F-1 rocket engine (5 on the Saturn V). A BUNCH of radial and jet engines on display. They also have a T-28 decked out in Blue Angles colors. See photo attached. See website for list of aircraft. Many of them used to fly routinely and still could including the T-28. When I started packing for them they would have a flight of the day at the museum and volunteers earned a ride along with hours. Insurance finally killed the flying. For a couple of year some of the local warbird pilots sponsored the insurance for the T-28, but now none of the former flyers have drip pans under them except the Ford Tri-Motor. They used to sell site seeing flights around Kalamazoo in the Tri-Motor. Hmm, just realized that aircraft list doesn't include the Tigercat they used to fly. It may have been privately owned. When they sponsored an airshow in the 80's they used to fly the Grumman Tigercat, Hellcat, Bearcat and Wildcat in formation with a Navy Tomcat brought in for the show. Full flight of Grumman cats and the Tomcat would go vertical for missing man formation. I pack for a bunch of warbird pilots that have T-6's to Corsairs and Yaks and at least one L-39. 12. I might jump it but it only has one reserve riser, so round or hobbit only. BUT I DO HAVE THE RISERS! Just need the wrap. Risers were on an old strato cloud in another bag. Hardware for wrap looks really skimpy. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  13. See photo below for inside steering line attachments. Has one that was never used and a field added one inboard. Seached all cell walls and rest for info but none. Big ass blue F-111 9 cell. Lines are not finger trapped at canopy but are at cascades and links. LR-288, goliath something pre orange lable. Red tab at center tail for rubberband for slider. Too lazy to measure it. 14. Just stopped at the local smoke house. They offer a BBLT. Thick slab bacon - topped with BACON, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Everything is better with bacon, EVEN BACON! I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  15. Harness is kind of nasty. Have looked to see if its airworthy if i wash it. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  16. I was given a harness using the Strong Wrap single point release, but no risers. Either would like to obtain an original pair or enough information to build the risers and the wrap. Description link below. http://www.parachutehistory.com/process/release/strongwrap.html Any help? I ask for the oddest things, don't I? I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  17. And photo in modern home built here. Modern, TSO'd lap parachute. Also attached a photo from 1933 Irvin lap. Also have a original photo print of Leslie Irvin modeling one in Buffalo NY about 1928 but couldn't find scan. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  18. In other words pick a country and go ask them. There are forums for Germany, France, Spain and eastern europe/russia below. Just scroll down. Or contact the BPA for England. Netherlands have their own too. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  19. Good thing I didn't write it. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  20. Got a phone message I couldn't understand about a lap rating. Anybody know a rigger named Alex Cebbata (sp?) in 720 area code? Tell him to call again. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

  22. The reserve will be fine. Get somebody light to go jump it. Only possible issue will be safety stow rubber deteriorated. I predict it will open in less than 4 seconds from a cutaway. Faster from a hop and pop. I don't own anything newer than 1997. Except AAD's and a wing suit. This would be a good first rig for a smaller person assuming the harness fit and no physical damage to the equipment. Rig is still supported by Peregrine Manufacturing. I'm old for my age. 23. I'm dying to see the beginner rig which has all the right components and can house all the appropriately sized canopies, but somehow has a Katana installed in it. Katanas come in 170 sq. ft. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  24. A reminder that at the PIA business meeting this coming weekend in Scottsdale there will be the PIA Riggers Roadshow. A few seminars for riggers to attend. No cost. See more information at http://www.pia.com/ This is the regularly schedule PIA business meeting. A few seminars have been added for those riggers in the area or who might be attending the PIA business meeting. The business meeting is open to the public with one 15-20 minute exception which is members only. If you'd like to be a member your membership application can still be submitted. http://www.pia.com/pia-membership-application This is NOT the PIA International Parachute Symposium, week long exhibition and seminars. The next symposium is Feb 13-17, 2017 in Chattanooga, TN. I'll be there. Come say hi if you owe me beer. If I owe you beer I'll probably be very busy. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  25. That's the problem. I think it may have been shortlined, reversibly and the apex line attachment isn't original. See photo above. At least need photo of original, intact line attachments. Really need line specs. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
