Don't fault these guys though...after all they were in the midst of an elevated pulse rate, their pupils were going crazy, oh yeah and they were sweating. Who can shoot straight under those conditions? Hell even a navy seal would find it hard to hit what their aiming at!!

And I should have caught that...

At 200g for a new one you best take care of the one you got. Take care of them right and run them right and they'll last forever. Company trucks on the other hand are ready for the crusher when they hit 500,000 miles. Btw...voyager 1 is 18,627,093,170km from earth. I got a few miles to go before I catch up.

Ignorant?...let me tell you what's ignorant... What's ignorant is you defending these actions. I could give 2 shits about gross or fine motor skills...more then half those bullets missed. That's some pretty shitty shooting regardless of the situation. Aside from the shooting the whole story sounds as if the cops were a little too fast in their reaction, screwed up and now trying to cover their asses. Btw I don't need you telling me I'm ignorant. I merely stated my opinion. If your differs from mine so be it. Read the article and State yours as you wish and leave me out of it. I don't need you critiquing my opinion...who the hell are you and what makes you the expert?

Gun fight?...takes 2 to have a gun fight, in other words...someone shooting back at them. I agree with you 100% about all the different things going on with a human during a high stress situation. No argument there. Regardless, you also have to maintain control. Had one of those stray bullets hit a kid next door would it have been ok to just say, well my heart was beating fast and I was sweating profusely- you know, high stress situation and after all even navy seals can't shoot straight in those situations so I did the best i could. Btw sorry about your kid. I am not anti law enforcement but if it went down like it was written then the end result was a little over the top and irrational.

Yes sir...98 Pete with 1.5 million on the speedo. Rebuilt the engine at about 800,000. 550 hp with a few other tweaks that'll let me run triple digits with 80,000lb load if I chose to do so. Freight rates are for the most part in the crapper these days so even running the legal 80 mph in states like Texas and Utah can get rather expensive. Been pulling flats coast to coast for as long as I can remember running 150,000+ miles annually. Where in NM you at...beautiful state!

Exactly what part of what I said would you be referring to? If a cop loses it in a high stress situation and can't function properly then maybe police work isn't for him. Firing 15 shots with 8 of them missing the target isn't good shooting regardless of the situation. Maybe you think this hit/miss percentage is acceptable but clearly someone needs to spend a little more time at the range. Thankfully no one else was hurt with all these bullets flying around. Btw I wasn't basing my opinion on a movie or a TV show. It's called being a professional and acting accordingly. That didnt happen here from the looks of things.

Studies have also shown that its possible to control heart rate, pulse and breathing in high stress situations. 8 bullets completely missed their target! There's no excuse for this. The cops were lucky no one else was hurt from a bullet gone astray...this time. They should give this cop a desk job ( if that) because a) he can't control himself in a high stress situations and b) he can't aim for shit.

ACL Surgery tomorrow... How bad is this gonna suck?
swisschris62 replied to phreeloader's topic in The Bonfire
I had the acl repaired years ago...it was anything but pleasant. Giving PT your all and letting your physical terrorist do what he has to do is key to regaining full range of motion and overall success. In April of this year I had a total knee replacement done on the same leg, it made the acl repair seem like a walk in the park. The surgery went well but I'm still having alot of nerve pain which is quite painful and runs down my leg into my foot. So far no one has been able to give me any answers regarding this and I'm hoping it will eventually go away when the nerve heals itself. Good luck tomorrow/today.... -
Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly... Your idea of an evening out with your woman is a 17 dollar dinner at Denny's? You sure have a way of impressing the ladies! No doubt she knows your a power player at company headquarters now....

The audio is actually pretty neat too...

Disgraced ex-congressman Weiner says he's running for NYC mayor
swisschris62 replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Other than the embarrassment it's causing her I think she could care less. This is her one big chance to go live in the mansion and all the perks that go with it. Makes you wonder who's behind this loser and why they want him in that position. House of Cards comes to mind. -
Boy, the majority of these posts are very negative toward this prospect...and this from skydivers no less....such negativity! It's 1300 miles, it's not forever and a day a way. How did your " friend " feel when he did it 30 years ago? Did he have fun or at that time say, that was nuts, never again? Lisa' post is right on with still being able? It's your, ahem...I mean your friends 30 year anniversary and its something he wants to do. I think he should or forever let it bother him that he didnt. I think Jerry makes some excellent points which are not negative and should be considered. Hey if you have the time, leave 5 days early. Do what you can. Worst case scenario u park it and rent a car or fly the rest of the way. At least then you can say you gave it a valid attempt. Enjoy!

wut?! I am hard pressed to think of a more crude way of putting things... maybe "make yourself available for the pleasure of the DZ men"? Geez, dude... Really? My African grey parrot could have put it more crudely. I was just trying to send some helpful advice. I didnt want to see her feelings get hurt.

I'm sure your right...you do know how to make decisions. You also know deep down inside that this probably isn't a good idea. Your just looking for the answer you want to hear which is, go for it, it must be true love, you should definitely date this guy.... Realistically this probably isn't a good idea. If you just gotta do it, maybe you should just consider keeping it extremely casual and just offer yourself up as a toy ( which hopefully the romp is equally pleasurable for you ). To commit to a full blown relationship where all kinds of "feelings" develop surely wouldn't end well, when and if it ends.

My very first thought after reading your post further describing your situation was, "no good deed goes unpunished." I am in no way a behavior specialist ( other then my experience raising 2 kids, age 24/22 ). That being said, I think what you may be doing or " allowing" could be considered enabling in some ways. If you do stay around to try and help the rules should probably be very clear that there isn't going to be any " flare ups " of unwanted behavior. Fucking up and then crying about it to make it all better because she knows your a good guy and knows she can play you with tears shouldn't be accepted. Like you said this goes way back into her childhood. It's what she knows bro...if there is going to be a change it will take a long time. Change ( behavior ) should be immediate, for it to become her natural way of thinking/being is another story. You can train a dog a new trick by going over it about 5 times ( if you know what your doing), to reverse a behavior it could take over 50 repetitions ( alot more work ). Humans are far more complicated then dogs. If you decide to stay in it I wish you all the strength and luck dealing with it. I have a feeling we are going to hear back from you at some point though telling us this didnt go well.

Jealousy and mistrust/deceit make for a very unhealthy relationship. Not good for either of you. I was in a similar relationship many years ago. There wasn't any cheating but lots of lies. After many long talks I thought we had resolved the problems. Our agreement was that she would no longer lie and I assured her that as long as she told me the truth I wouldn't get pissed off even if I didnt like what I was hearing. It wasn't long before I found out several more lies had been told and I was gone. There was lots of tears and more promises that it wouldn't happen again. I stuck to my guns and left. Turns out I wasn't the last guy who had these problems with her. I think you know what you need to do. Don't let tears and suicidal talk keep you from making the right decision.

If I remember correctly, Chong ( cheech & Chong ) was charged and convicted for paraphernalia some years back. Not sure of all the circumstances surrounding the case but in his case it didnt matter that nothing had been smoked through them.
