New firmware update for the black due on the 2nd april
gilead1 replied to spencer's topic in Photography and Video
Hi Mark I do have the 2.37 firmware, but i did the automatic update via the web. my 1 button mode did not work from day one. I just realize that in some cameras it is working good. on my camera, when I select the 1 button mode I cant stop it, After powering it on, its start capture video, but pressing the mode button for 2 sec does not shut it off, instead it get into a loop of start and stop capturing every 3-4 sec. I'll try to do the manual update..... Cheers Gilead -
under the same logic you can say that Cypres kills.... If you deploy your main too late and the Cypres fires at the same time and both canopies entangled - you are dead . You must know and practice the EP for every situation!!!! cut away the helmet if needed, (RSL) go directly to reserve if you are too low. Good luck

New firmware update for the black due on the 2nd april
gilead1 replied to spencer's topic in Photography and Video
I am very very disappointed to discover that the "single button" mode is still not functioning after the last update.... If you can't make it work - remove the option from the menu!!! don't let me struggle it and remove the battery 4 times just to get back to the menu to cancel the un functional mode -
Evil things to say to first time tandems on the way to altitude...

Personally, I don't like to freak out my students, I like them relaxed :) but I like this one: "I have to warn you: every student I had till now wants to marry my after the jump, That's include my mother... My dad does not talk to me since..." -
Here is an issue After I updated my camera's firmware the 1 button mode doesn't work properly. I can't stop it, once i turn the camera on it starts filming but with a long press on the mode button it just startin a new film. a long press on the upper button do nothing. The only solution is taking out the battery

I'm using the Low-Pro Mont, BUT- I also have a chin-cup quick release, it is highly recomended to have a quick release, regardless of how "snag proof" your camera mount is. be safe Gilead

Yap, I have to admit you deserve it :)

Is it too late...????

Rey, I think you can stop now, You said already more than enough!!! (or should I say "not enough"... details on the original post) I know RIGGER since 1987, from my military service as a jump muster and from 1993 we are working at the same DZ, here are some facts: - He is the most strict and honest person I ever knew. - All he wrote about his costumer service is 100% true and there is much more. - Yes, he is old fashioned, from the days when being honest, fair, professional, a real friend and polite were considered to be good. - Yes, he will ground equipment that other riggers will not, BUT he will do it only for the sake of safty!!! never for his one profit, and will always choose the safe side. On the other hand - You mr. Rey, I know you only from the original post.... and I didn't decide what is worst: - Throwing mud on a colleague by posting half-truths, OR - Not being able to see all the things RIGGER did... You can guess who will do my next I&R :) Be safe Gilead P.S 4-6 years ago RIGGER didn't post a nasty and offending post on D.Z.com.... Or may be you are just looking for revenge??? Hey - after 4-6 years this is all you got..... you must be kidding Cheers

The GPS is for running and cycling!!! On a track dive or a wingsuit it is nice to use the GPS only to record the jump and see it later on the computer.... not during the jump or canopy flight.
-
Yes you can!!! you can customise the exercise screens and select what info you want to display. you can select as many screens as you want for every exercise mode. for instance you can navigate, see the altitude and the heart rate at the same time. I'll pots a pic. later Enjoy Gilead

Everyone talks about the flight and landings... to get there you have to survive the opening You don't want to try it, belive me, (And I'm talking only on the times it did open at all - I have about 15 cut away in 1000 jumps) I have about 200 jumps on the BT-50 and 800 jumps on BT-40 (and 200 on Stilletto 89) I think was taller by 2 inches befor jumping the Blue Track Gilead

Buying a ring sight set up - what parts are needed?
gilead1 replied to degeneration's topic in Photography and Video
Try to contact Mike from Chutingstar, I'm sure he can give you all the answers, He helped me with a camera helmet setup including 2 camera mount and a ringsight. He did a great job! Gilead -
Here is mine I'm using a wing and a ringsight to get those shots, You must be very very careful not to get into the "Death zone" Good luck

The bettery is rechargeable :) Not on the airplane or in freefall. It's not that the battery can go dead, but rather WHEN the battery can go dead. It have a battery indicator :) Scenario: On your previous jump with your gee-whiz altimeter watch the low battery indicator came on. You want to make one more jump before sunset. Do you: 1) Ignore the low battery warning and go ahead and make another jump hoping that the altimeter watch will still work properly, or; 2) Stand down and NOT make that last jump you wanted. What is your decision? Come on.... so you are against all digital altimeters...??? It is just like the VISO or NEPTUN from the battery aspect. If you are stupid you will wait until the low battery warning is flashing and then you have to choose... be even more stupid and jump with it or miss a jump.... unlike the VISO, you do not need to replace the battery, if you see that the indicator shows less then 50% on Thursday - charge it and you are happy for the next 2 weeks. P.S my answer to your question: I'm running to my gear bag and grab my old analog alti, never sold it
