Why? will you be measuring his mouth? Now for something completely different.... Sorry it took so long but we are announcing that Travis Stewart will be organizing freeflyers at the event as well as Eric Deren. Travis will be focusing on smaller ways and intermediate skill levels. He will have 2 rigs, so everyone should be able to take advantage and score some great dives. Wahoo! http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

[Trey dons his teflon coated/fire retardant suit in preparation for entering a who jumps less than whom conversation] Now, now. Ian has been working on a new skill only to be mastered by the greatest flyers. Flying sideways, feet first, 10 feet above the ground at 30 MPH. I saw him do it just the other weekend. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

Gimmee a break Spence!! Nobody's comin with talk like that. The average temp for November 4th is 71 degrees according to weather.com. Last year was about 78 during the day. The year before was around 85 and 75 at night. Perfectly reasonable temps for women to skydive naked! In any case, the gas was turned on last Friday so we will have the ceiling mounted gas heaters in the hangar if needed for night time activities. And I will be happy to fire up extra heaters in my office for the naked girlies to warm themselves after that jump. OK, twist my arm, I'll be happy to warm up naked girls jump or not. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

"Battlestar Galactica" (2003): Not Your Father's Oldsmobile
skyberdyber replied to a topic in The Bonfire
This show is the most brilliant and riveting piece of TV I have seen in years. The characters are complex and imperfect. The enemy is ruthless, intelligent, and not yet entirely revealed. The goal of the good guys is very straight forward (unlike other similar shows), survive, find Earth. Not unlike real life. They won't execute everyone, the shots are from the cops switching sides and shooting the cylons, I guarantee. Not to mention the previews showed all of those characters still alive. The plot is is a little political for me with this opening episode. Very obviously the writers' making some statements on the war in Iraq. However, it does give a different point of view to think about those things which is the idea behind all great art. Baltar is a pussy and slime bucket. What a great character, I love this show!!! http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com -
Are you "This Guy" at the DZ?
skyberdyber replied to chutem's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am going to quote you in my DZ's newsletter next week. I have been looking for a way to say that for years but I always come up short. Well said. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com -
Forget the 5 star stuff. Go to Kerby Lane Cafe in Austin (if it is still there) at about 3 a.m. Get the flavored iced tea of the day, they have great chips and salsa. Man that takes me back. Does anyone know if it is still there off South Lamar? http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

So... Now that gas prices are going back down...
skyberdyber replied to scottbre's topic in The Bonfire
You know, I heard a quote once that seems to apply, "skydiving would be a great industry if it weren't for the skydivers." Cost per jumper $14 per slot Jet Fuel- $3.00 per gallon (and that is EXTREMELY conservative) 25 gallons per load -20 King Air or Super Otter. That's $75 per load or $7.50 per jumper with your 10 jumpers. You do the math genius. This post really pissed me off as the tone of this poll does. The notion that somehow DZO's are supposed to be in this and provide top notch gear, facilities, and turbines and not make money. I'll tell you what pal, you should be paying $30-$35 per load like they do in other countries. You should consider yourself lucky. What do you do for a living and how much do you make? Maybe you should shut your mouth, get out here, make sacrifices, and bust your ass every day just to have jumpers talk shit about you at every turn and see what it takes. On second thought, I'd just as soon you keep it to yourself, say "Thanks DZO", and cough up the extra $1.50 per jump that you would otherwise waste on a night of internet porn, booze, or those couple must have tunes on your IPOD that you'll listen to 3 times and toss out. Thanks to the couple of level headed people that have illustrated absurdity with absurdity. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com -
If he really is that bad the DZO probably already knows about it. He/she should get rid of him in that case. I have had to do this many times and will have to many more I am sure. It's never fun or comfortable, after all, we all just want to get along right? All you can do is call the guy out every time it happens and warn newbies to stay away. Sometimes it takes care of itself. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

It's like throwing stray cats into a potato sack with you DZ commers. Too funny. I do sincerely believe it is much more prevalent than anyone will ever be aware. After all, 50% percent of marriages end in divorce. I would be curious to see stats on everyone that has posted in this thread whether they had never, EVER, cheated on anyone in their life. Stir, stir, stir http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

Let me just say, before I saw the 15 years older part, it could've easily been my soon to be ex-wife. If you asked her she would probably say some of the same things. They are true from her point of view and there are shreds of truth from the objective point of view. But there are always 2 sides. And listen to me very closely...if she cheated on him, SHE WILL CHEAT ON YOU. It's a no brainer and there is no question. Besides, everybody cheats, and those that say they don't, well they are liars too!! And no you can't bang my wife now Clay!! http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com

Refused tandem because of waiver
skyberdyber replied to skinnyshrek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Print out, scan into Acrobat, make changes, re-save PDF. I thought that Acrobat does that. If not, there's other software out there that will. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com -
Refused tandem because of waiver
skyberdyber replied to skinnyshrek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Posting it OK. But accepting a waiver printed and signed at home? That actually has potential to be a really dumb idea. If your staff doesn't have the waiver memorized and checks every word, someone could make small changes rendering it useless. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com -
DZ.com Magic 8 Ball: Will Kelel01 Get Some Lovin' this Weekend?
skyberdyber replied to NWFlyer's topic in The Bonfire
Unfortunately for you Kelly, I consulted our DZ's actual 8-ball in manifest. As you know, I make most major decisions based on this incredible piece of technology which I prefer to call the "quantum future prediction machine". It is always right if I ask the right question. As your question was asked, the answer was "My sources say no". Perhaps a more specific question would get a different answer as it is very hard to define what the 8-ball considers "Lovin". However, now that the basic question has been asked and answered, your probability of getting a correct answer out of it without waiting a significant amount of time has dropped exponentially. Especially now that I have built up it's powers of prediction so much. Best just to remember, there is no spoon. http://www.skydiveatlanta.com http://www.musiccityskydiving.com
