I am so excited about that helmet! I don't think I've won anything since I won a game of bingo in 3rd grade. I'm adding a BlackBox and cutaway and liquid lens, so I guess it's not exactly free, but it's pretty f*ing chjavascript: addTag('cool') javascript: addTag('cool')eap. Hopefully by the time you get repacked, my Mxv will be here and you can look at it or maybe even touch it. For people who don't know: I won a Cookie Composites MXV camera helmet in a contest on the Cookie website, after drooling over the helmets for the last two months. Sweet.

I just downloaded the latest Quicktime and it's not working for me either... But I can tell y'all that it's a pretty cool trailer since I got a private screening in the Mac lab. It's got helmet cam dancing and everything.

Just gotta post a big bold reminder... Saturday night we will have Big Pretty and the Red Rockets, the very same band that is opening for Dave Matthews this Wednesday night. Everybody come out on Wednesday for the show at Alltel, then come to the dz when you wake up on Thursday. The whole Dave Matthews thing is really just a boogie kickoff, right? And you don't have to pay crazy Ticketmaster charges to see Joe play again on Saturday.

Cynthia- You know I'd lei you any time. Joe- I've been slacking on the boogie stuff recently- last day at work is next Wednesday, starting school next Thursday. I'll write "AIRPLANES" on my forehead this weekend so everybody will ask me WTF it means and I'll remember to talk to Nancy. Or I guess I could just write it on my hand or something... Bolas- . And remember to pick up your cooler thing from me when you get here!

Enjoying canopy flight and wanting to downsize are two separate things. I don't think of my canopy as a way to simply get me to the ground, and I still don't understand the constant downsizing urge. Probably half of my jumps recently have been high pulls. I love flying both my body and my canopy. I'm not in a hurry to increase my WL.

BB, I know you showed me on the ground, but I gotta see video of that one. It could be your new avatar...

Deal with it. I miss ya Dave. Dawn #2 and I had a kick ass freefly/pull high jump today. I didn't pull below 4500 all day. Lovin' the longer brake lines. Riser tuns work so much better without all that tail input, huh? PS - Yes. No. PPS - Is there an event you'd like to add to the boogie thread??? Or are you talking about one of those jumps where I get to kiss five people?

EVERYONE GETS LEIED! Bring a Hawaiian shirt, and join us for beach-themed fun at CSS for the 4th of July. We'll be doing fundraising all weekend for our local Jump For The Cause women. There will be a 50/50 raffle- Half of the proceeds go to the winner, and half go to JFTC. You could get a few days worth of jumps paid for! We'll have a yummy JFTC breakfast one day (not sure when yet). Get out to the dz early and hop on some morning loads! Big Pretty Returns to CSS! On Saturday night, join us for dinner and Big Pretty and the Red Rockets! Buy a $10 bracelet for dinner and the show, and you'll be entered into a drawing for cool BP&RR and JFTC goodies, including a 50/50 raffle ticket. Throughout the weekend, look for a bake sale and freezer pop sale to keep your blood sugar up while you're jumping. To beat the heat, we'll have kiddie pools and a Slip 'n Slide all weekend. Everyone can have fun at the Slip 'n Slide distance comp. We might add speed and freestyle next year. Manifest is organizing hot air balloon jumps for $100. Thanks for posting some of the pics (and for not posting others ). My Ouragan suit is on its way back to Deland (the guy at the shipping place gave me a funny look when I asked how much it would cost to insure it for $500), and I'm on my way to Disney World in an hour. No skydiving or tunnel time- gotta do some RW. I'll miss you guys this weekend. Dawn 1, I started reading The Snow Leopard, and I'm bringing your other book with me too. Thanks!

Do you have specific questions? I also went from a Tri to a Sabre2. About me: 200 jumps since last August, 100 jumps at 1.3 on the Sabre2 150, 450 jumps slowly increasing my WL the cheap way from 1.1 to 1.3 on the Tri 150. I've also put a few jumps on an original Sabre at 1:1. The Sabre2 is a different canopy from both the original Sabre and especially the Triathlon. It still surprises me with the forward drive I get on no wind days and the power of the flare. It's also a pretty fast canopy, and it's easy to make it go faster. Going from a Triathlon to a Sabre2 without changing size/wingloading was a HUGE step up in performance. Have you demoed a Sabre2 at the WL you're used to flying? Without having specific questions to answer, that would be my suggestion. After you have jumped the Sabre2 in various wind conditions at the WL you're used to, then you and your canopy coach(es) can decide whether you should take it down a size. Changing size and canopy planform at the same time will make it difficult to see which changes are due to the higher WL and which changes are due to the tapered wing. Not sure if you jump in NC at all or just in FL, but let me know if you want to borrow my canopy sometime. Marion

You know that's why I got my coach rating... I like corrupting young'uns. Cynthia and I have some kick ass ideas brewing for 4th of July. If anybody thinks of anything they want to see/do at the boogie, let me know. Of course, the coolest thing would be to have Big Pretty and the Red Rockets play for us. PLEASE drop off a contribution at the loft SOON. Every little bit counts. The boogie is only a month away. Also... If anyone out there has a kiddie pool or two that we could borrow for the boogie, send me an email/pm or catch up with me at the dz.

In all fairness, you have to say that Joey was leading it on his back and his navigator got taken out... Cynthia- My suit looks awesome. Eric has some freeflying pics. It fits great except that it gives me a really bad wedgie (I think the torso part is too short), so I'm going to have to send it back to get that fixed. Can't wait to see you for the 4th of July boogie.

Congrats to KWOO and Minxx! Yay! Can't wait to see the jumpsuits. Speaking of jumpsuits... My Ouragan suit freaking rocks. Maybe we could try it out on a wingsuit tracking jump, then go out to dinner and head over to Chapel Hill to see BP&RR. I love you guys. Someone can post pics and video tomorrow... Seriously, now- The show last night was fun. It was cool seeing a bunch of people come out. I think it was the first BP&RR show for both Tony and Peter B.
