  1. Weren't you just saying how you thought they could all get along, in another thread? Face it, it's an adversarial system just like out system of justice. Considering we mainly elect attorneys, are you really surprised?
  2. Then they can spend all their time fighting with each other trying to gain dominance. It's human nature.
  3. It doesn't matter what the truth is. What matters is if they can blame it on someone other than Obama. Preferrably Bush, but Clinton will do.
  4. This thread isn't about Dolphins. Please don't engage in thread drift. Stay on topic.
  5. I also have to say that I'm really sick of this attitude that unless I pay for someones birth control, that I'll have to pay for her child. WTF ever happened to people taking responsibility for themselves (don't answer that, I already know why).
  6. I really can't understand why people think a third party candidate would be some magic bullet who would be able to get both parties together and get his ideas implemented when a candidtae from either Dem or Rep can't. Ours is an adversarial system and as far as I'm concerned, the less they do, the better. I like having a President from one party and a congress from the other. That's part of the checks and balances a free society must have in place.
  7. Nope, that's one of your tactics. Interesting that you project it on others.
  8. Odd how they find someone with strong religious beliefs as extreme but view murdering millions of babies as perfectly normal. Who is they and why are you throwing abortion into the conversation? Nobody's throwing abortion in. Why do you hate babies?
  9. Agreed, get rid of all deductions. Whining about thread drift is especially funny coming from you given your history on here.
  10. Then the government need to promote cigarette smoking and other risky lifestyles so more will die earlier and we can save social security for those who take care of themselves.
  11. Now if we can just convince some women that $9.00 per month for birth control is their responsibility, we will have something. Expecting tax payers to pay so you can fuck your brains out is a little like asking tax payers to pick up the bar tab for an alcoholic.
  12. Right, because these politicians represent ALL Republicans in the same way that Shelia Jackson Lee represents ALL Democrats.
  13. Odd how they find someone with strong religious beliefs as extreme but view murdering millions of babies as perfectly normal.
  14. A monkey can veto. I thought you wanted a third party candidate who could implement his ideas? That will never happen as long as we have a 2 party system.
  15. Problem is that no matter how much you like his idea nor how good they might be, implementing them is something else without the support of both Democrat and Republican Partys. Look at how difficult it is for a President to be effective when the majority in Congress are of his opposing political party. Now imagine how difficult it would be with both partys opposing you for political gain. Not whether what you want to do makes sense. That's why they call it politics.
  16. So let me see if I have this straight. On your first link, a State Senator wrote something in a book he published in 2009 that he thought blacks in the US today, were better off than blacks in Africa in places like Somalia, etc. The immediate response from the State Republican Party was to call the remarks offensive and divisive and they condemn the remarks in the strongest terms. Then another Republican who served for 2 years in the Arkansas House from 1996-1998 wrote "“no solution to the Muslim problem short of expelling all followers of the religion from the United States,” in his 2012 book, “God’s Law.” in a book in 2012. His comments were also called divisive and racially offensive by the Republican Party in Arkansas. And MasterBlaster see's this as 2012 Republican Campaign Brilliance? Do I have that about right? I didn't bother clicking on the other links you posted as this one pretty much said all I needed to know.
  17. Over time, the poor will get more involved in politics and eventually vote in politicians who are against jailing them. At the same time, expenditures on wars etc. will begin to dwindle as less money is available. This is a great way for the poor to get more involved in taking charge of their own fate and at the same time eliminating unnecessary wars. I would think you lefties would support anything that stops wars.
  18. He's hiding them on porpoise. Seems a little fishy doesn't it?
  19. I thought this thread was about jalapeno's.
  20. He's hiding them on porpoise.
  21. A portion of my paycheck funds a TV show that I've never watched yikes A much larger portion of my paycheck supported a war in Iraq that I strongly opposed. Has the thought ever occured to you that if everyone paid the same amount in taxes, that maybe poorer people would stop voting for politicians that spend their money on wars?
  22. People go to bed straight and wake up gay?
  23. What a novel idea - develop the better way to ID killers without violating everyone's rights There's no other discussion until this happens. Excellent - you actually put the horse before the cart instead of Kallend's posts to just kill the horse and lock up everyone in the cart when they've done nothing wrong I think promoting better awareness to help people understand when someone they care about is in trouble would be a good place to start. All too often we hear "I knew he was having a rough time, but I never thought something like this would happen". Not a perfect solution, but at least a start in the right direction. Perhaps taught in a health class in school and/or public service announcements. I'm sure there are other ways to help educate the public on what to look for, but it needs to start with the recognition of a problem. perferably by those closest to the person in trouble.
