If there's a weasel around here, it's you. Should a military chaplain who attended this church and believes in its teachings be forced to perform an inter-racial marriage for the military? If..If...If..If weasels had wings they could fly. Sorry, parachute failed to open. If he failed to do it, another one would. There is no RELIGION that bars inter-racial marriage, as bad as some want it to be true.

Right now that statement is contradicted by labrys. Neither one of you has provided a citation for your positions, but labrys certainly seems more credible. Your claim has gone from weak to pathetic. You claimed a religion prevented inter-racial ,marriage. Now you are grasping onto one particular church in a small obscure town in Kentucky in an attempt to save face. Actually, the funding has been diverted to the Corporate take-over of our defense program and left-wing social engineering spending. It's kind of hard to have money left over for things like science. -

I disagree. It's not aimed at an entire religion. Its only aimed at the person whom finds themselves at the end of the barrel of a gun. It's a psych-op that takes away that persons desire to die for a religious cause because they will not be meeting Allah or the 72 virgins.

What EXACTLY is the threat to the USA that is so severe that we need to spend as much on "defense" (sic) as the rest of the world combined? (Other than the threat of lost $$$$ to the military-industrial complex, that is.) The threats are there. They are also most certainly above yours and mine "pay-grades". Whether it be cyber attacks on our government and military computer systems, or the intel needed to fend of another 9/11, rest assured the threats exist. I believe you were one on the main whiners concerning our unpreparedness for 9/11. Now you have your answer.

GM - I'm an advocate for a strong defense and agree with your position. HOWEVER, there's a big difference between a "strong" defense, and a ridiculously bloated defense used to underpin entire redundant industries and keep towns and regions and districts of foreign countries alive by injecting military welfare funds into the voting districts. It's just as bad as the analogous programs of the left - too much and for the wrong reasons..... I don't disagree. I think we need to take back our Military from the Politicians and Corporations that hi-jacked it very long ago. HOWEVER, given a choice between an over-bloated Military that can actually protect us and pissing money away on yet another ineffective social program, I'll take the missiles.

The TC Monument was not put there for the purpose of being inflammatory. The Athiest Monument was. That's a huge difference.

Perhaps if you took a moment and looked at the pictures in the linked article, you'd realize that the monument is focused on the fact the the US is a secular nation. It isn't espousing a belief in nothing, it's espousing a belief in the separation of church and state. No it's not. It's an "In your Face" monument.
