  1. So, what is/was your almighty, loving God's intentions when he turned his back on the millions of children who have been raped, abused, starved to death, enslaved, murdered... (the list is endless), over the many years? Were they only to have faith that this good guy in the sky will swoop down and smite their tormentors? Or, maybe all of the children who have suffered had no faith and what became of them was their punishment? They must not have prayed the right prayer, or something, right? Otherwise these passages would apply. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Good intentions in thought is only that, in thought. Without action, it is the delusion of a sick mind that a god would never leave or forsake us. The horrific conditions that so many children have to endure, the world over, is evidence of that. 4. Like the writings of the ancient historian Josephus? Verifying that certain people or places listed in the bible existed in history and were mentioned by a 1st century historian is a far cry from corroborating the happenings of the life of Jesus put forth in the gospels, and not put to paper until 60 years or more after his death, after everyone who would have had any first hand knowledge of his doings would be long dead. We can't keep a game of telephone going as an ice breaker for 15 minutes without losing the original meaning, and you can with a straight face tell me someone who had only second hand knowledge of the life of an obscure Jewish man who died 60 years prior got it all right? Let me guess, here is where "inspired by God" comes in, right? My original point is that there are plausible alternatives to "they died for what they believed in, so it must be true". We as a people have been manipulating others to die for our causes forever. What you say is reflective of your knowledge...HOW ya say it is reflective of your experience. 5. To correct "other news": The rope isn't tied around the testicles. Correct. It's called a *flank* - painful, nevertheless. How do you know it causes pain? How do you know it does not? Ever tried? It's plain simple: I owned horses for more than 20 years, so do not ask me such an idiotic question, mnealtx So have I, as well as having ridden rodeo. I *know* of what I speak, you do not. Oh really, cowboy? Bwahahahaaa ....... How do you know? Ah....Amazon has been tying a rope around his balls for a while now... 6. Yes...that's it...anything but the alternative. Anything but what the Bible says they did and for the reason they did it...based on what they saw, experienced, and refused to deny. We'll believe anything as long as it's not in the Bible. Bible could use just a shred of corroborative evidence, like I don't know, a history book? 7. I bet you have water heaters though. We need water chillers. When you sit your water out in 105-120F it gets rather warm. Showering after a run is not fun. My water comes from this amazing invention, you know, underground water mains? Cool. Good thing too, 104F degrees today. Thank's for the cold snap tomorrow, only 102F. 8. Why is it absurd? Because, again, people don't die for something they know is a lie when they have nothing to gain. And they certainly don't do it in countless numbers. The original assertion was that the original Christians knowingly made up a lie. Why would they do this? To gain power? No. Money? No. Prestige? No. They lost all of that as well as their lives. Did they make it up because they thought they'd go to heaven and be rewarded by Jesus? No, of course not. Because that is completely inconsistent with, "They knowingly made up a lie." Why would they expect to be rewarded in heaven, or be on the right side of Armageddon, if they KNOW they just made it up. It would be like expecting Tolkein to get all excited that Frodo destroyed the ring, and really believe it, when he KNOWS he's the author of the books and he stemmed the entire story from his imagination (or even better, knows he's actively lying to others about it's reality). You can argue first gen Christians may be mistaken in what they believe, but to say they knowingly made up Christ (among other things), goes against everything we know about human behavior as they had nothing to gain and everything to lose (and did). You ever think that maybe the one's dying weren't the ones telling the lie? It's possible some were lying, creating converts, for governmental and religious subversion. 10. Of course you don't. Because if you did, you would be accountable to his laws. Instead, you want to live your life the way you want to live it according to your own rules. You want what you want when you want it. That's human nature and it keeps us from seeing beyond our own selfish desires. One will continue down that path (which ends in death) unless his nature is changed. That saving faith (faith which leads to obedience) is a gift (cannot be earned) and must originate from God. ***"I had motive for not wanting the world to have a meaning; consequently assumed that it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption. The philosopher who finds no meaning in the world is not concerned exclusively with a problem in pure metaphysics, he is also concerned to prove that there is no valid reason why he personally should not do as he wants to do, or why his friends should not seize political power and govern in the way that they find most advantageous to themselves. … For myself, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation, sexual and political." - Thomas Huxley Wait...what? You just contradicted yourself. You quote a bible passage, which I respond to, as saying that the evidence of God is easily evident to all people, then you say that that isn't the case, because people are selfish. That "saving faith" you are speaking of seems to be of little use to society as a whole. Look at the fruit of it...murder, slavery, elitism, ignorance, and judgement. "Saving faith" in all its different guises (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, etc...) has had just as much history (and yes, recent history) producing the fruit above as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. 12. Why is God considered "vicious" in exacting due punishment for the crimes against His nature that we have committed? Here, I bolded the part that explains why I called it vicious. This is the "Deep down, you really know there is a god", argument. The problem is, you are using a line in a letter written almost 2 millenia ago as proof that we are "hard-wired" with a knowledge of God. This is both highly disputable, and totally unprovable. Where you look at nature, your children, happenings in the world and attribute them to the existence and love of God, others see the same things in their lives ,and don't. Doesn't sound like "God" is so evident to me. What you say is reflective of your knowledge...HOW ya say it is reflective of your experience. Airtwardo Someone's going to be spanked! Listen, The world has dealt with smallpox epedmics in the past and come out stronger and in larger numbers. A fear of smallpox is irrational. So what scares you "heatmiser"? 1. My children making negative decisions now that will affect the rest of their lives. Why? They have no comprehension of the lasting effect. 2. Deep water, where I can not see the bottom. 18. Really Proffesor? A man of your intelligence still buying in to the Dem / Rep bull? It is a ploy to make sure nothing is ever accomplished while giving the common voter the illusion that they can make a difference and it is their vote that is responsible for the current state of affairs. ReaLLY? You fall for that crap? You got something better there, JimBrown, I mean er, DanJohnson? Is it easy to change the system? Nope. Possible? Not if everyone has your attitude. The people of this country have banded together in the past, and it can happen again. I don't know what point you are trying to make but as for myself I'm not waiting on everyone to band together. I decided a long time ago to live as a Free Man and that is how I live. A Free Man that, if you live in this country, you are subject to the laws of the land, and the consequences of the government, both good and bad, whether you like it or not. You can claim to live in anarchy, unaffected by our political system, but that doesn't fly in all practicality. I can close my eyes and wish with all my might that the things I don't agree with in my government will not affect me, but the ONLY way that any changes will be made is if I, and a majority of every one else, VOTE to make it so. Period.

Really? You are worried about a test tube.., Go on! You are trollin' me and should ban yourself!!! No really, what are you scared of? We jump out of planes every weekend which would scare the bejebus out of the majority of the population, so.., what scares you? Like I said before, most people worry about the wrong things. If the idea of a massive human die off due to terrorists getting their hands on stockpiled biological agents doesn't concern you at all . . . I guess you're one of them. And a gun isn't going to help you one damn bit in that scenario. It doesn't concern me in the least. But please answer the original question ; what scares you and why? Reading comprehension not your strong suit, huh? He told you what scares him. A terrorist dropping small pox in public. Why? It's uncontrollable, unable to defend against, and able to cause massive damage. What you say is reflective of your knowledge...HOW ya say it is reflective of your experience.
