Well it's finally that time now that I've saved some money...AFF 1! I'm starting it tomorrow 4/20, so yes I'll be getting "high" on 4/20(in the good, 11k above the earth kind)...lol I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. The weather MIGHT get bad later in the day so if that happens, I'll only be doing the class and then jumping next weekend. Either way I'm anxious and excited to learn and have fun. I'll keep you guys updated as to how it's going. Any advice? I just thought I'd start a thread to ask everyone what kind of music they listen to on a regular basis. Name some bands that are in your CD player or mp3 player lately. I just had a suggestion to make it easy for users to find other users that live close by or at least in the same state. I know you can search drop zones but it's not quite the same. At least this way, it can make it easier to find people close to certain DZs and ask them questions or maybe you want someone to jump with, etc.. I think this would be a good idea. It could be the same format as it is for searching for DZs where perhaps you type your address or zip code and it gives you all the registered users who are closest to you or closest to the area/drop zone you're looking around. Thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate the warm welcome. I've been working my butt off and saving any money I can for my AFF training. The weather is getting much warmer here in SE Pennsylvania and it makes me want to jump even more. Every day when I'm working outside, I look up to the sky and just imagine the perfect freefall. I picture an amazing view I might have of the area during the canopy ride down. I even had a dream that I landed in my front yard after a jump lol I know my brother would be proud of me and give me nothing but words of encouragement to pursue my dream of skydiving. I know he will be flying right beside me every time among the bluest skies. I'm so excited to train and become licensed. I have all these plans in my head already of wanting to take road trips to certain DZs I've been reading about on the forums, ie...Cross Keys, Skydive Chicago, The Farm, etc.. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress. I can't wait for a warm weather jump! Don't worry, I'm not counting my chickens before they're hatched. I'm talking about when you're on DZ.com and you see the box in the upper right hand corner. You type a search in that box and hit enter, get results and only if you go to the bottom and click "options", sort by post date. My suggestion is to make it simpler, just like it is when you're normally reading the forums, where you can just click on the top right to organize by post date. Thanks anyways though.

And yes I know that you can already do this by going under "Options" at the bottom after you search but what I'm suggesting is the simple clicky at the top like in the forums normally. I have a suggestion for when you're searching the forums. I noticed that everytime I search the forums for a particular subject, example "Jeb Corliss", I get lots of results but all in random date order. I just wish I could sort it by date from the most recent to the oldest without having to look at the posting dates. It seems that this feature IS implemented in the actual forums themselves but not when you get search results when searching the forums. Just a suggestion. I've been to Australia and New Zealand when I represented the United States as a student ambassador. It was with the People to People program which was started by President Eisenhower. I visited so many places and met so many amazing people. The people were so friendly and not to mention, the scenary in AU and NZ is just breath taking. One of the many things I did was go abseiling off the southern Alps of New Zealand, much fun =) The people I did that with also offer lots of other adventures and like motivational speaking, I don't know how to explain it but they really pump you up about life and living your life to the fullest and achieving your dreams before you go do w/e(in my case, abseiling). They have so many things to do and it's one of only a handful of places in the world where you can feed wild dolphins. They have sand toboganing, snorkling, atvs, the most crystal clear beach/water I've ever set foot in and the condos/rooms are amazing. Hmmm...I guess I'm referring to situations before there was such a thing as AADs, or situations where after a reserve fired, it malfunctioned and another skydiver tracks to them and saves them. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a time where a skydiver was saved by another skydiver in freefall, ie..skydiver 1 cant open main or reserve, skydiver 2 tracks to them, holds on for dear life and pulls main, both land rough but alive. Or anything close like that? Just wondering.
