Tell me about it, 1 year 6 months and counting. um... nevermind. i'll just leave that one alone. steve -
i've got john digweed's latest cd, mmii, playing right now. i've been listening to it a lot since may, yet i'm still marveling at how an obscure, 10+ year old darren emerson remix found its way into the set -- and it STILL flows like melted butter... (parkay) by the end of the day, tho, we'll usually go through a dozen different genres, from prog rock to baroque to jazz to industrial. mpd *can* be a good thing no it can't!! steve

dude, that was just wrong! viking, hope you have fun tonight. was giving you some shite, but i do agree is live stuff is hilarious, although i *am* prone to laugh at just about anything! steve

is this some sorta redhead brotherhood thing? we were planning on heading out to pb tonight to get into some trouble anyway, so i really did consider it (*bowing head in shame*) until i checked out the ticketmaster web... $35-$80!?!?!?!???!?!?? PLEASE tell me you won these from a radio station (or came upon them free otherwise)! steve

and isn't it fascinating how the same players have had their filthy hands deeply mired in every twist of this vile plot, regardless of their role at the time? *sigh* oh, well... guess i'll have to go jump outta some planes tomorrow to ease the pain... steve

Hey, Michele! Welcome back!!! Certainly look forward to seeing you... when you comin' out??? Steve

p'oshintang. i'm telling you, it freakin' smelled like wet dog! heh. a stray cat grew fond of our common areas back at the language school many moons ago... we aptly dubbed her, "chom shim" (lunch) steve

anyone speak romance language? the key here is which one? arabic modern (ad) arabic egyptian (ae) arabic maghrebi (am) arabic saudi (an) arabic syrian (ap) arabic yemeni (au) arabic sudanese (av) arabic iraqi (dg) then, of course, there's persian farsi (pf) and dari (pg)... the list goes on and on... if you've got any friends at bragg, they've got some great (grain of salt) fast-track course materials you might be able to get your hands on. (ed: check with the sof language office at the school) or, you can hit up the distance education office at dliflc. at the very least, they'll have some helpful info, or you might just go for gold and try their course mats, hehehe then again, i dunno shite about this language stuff anyway , so you're better off ignoring me. steve

WTF??? Window air conditioner?!?!?!? That's not the Casey/Hovey I remember! I'm sure you guys also somehow managed to get running water during the obligatory month-long-water-outage, eh? No having to hoof it to the mokyokt'ang in T'okori for some good ol' communal bathing, hmmm? Freakin' zoomies... Never got to see a massive lightning display, but on more than a couple of occasions I saw those turtle ditches GONE, like under a few feet of water themselves! May I never have to fill another sandbag there again. Steve

good lessons learned, i hope! congrats, and welcome back! steve

Vibes on the way, man... although it's virtually impossible to see now, there will be a *serious* bright side to it all in the not-to-distant future, one worth all the pain and struggle... Steve

Or a backyard full of snow!!! Picture this... townhome in the mountains, BIG upstairs bedroom window, three feet of snow in backyard, crazy-ass steve and friends taking leaps of faith... Have I always been such a troublemaker??? Jeez... Steve

the bumper sticker on the stairs looks a lot like a perris valley skydiving one from a few years back. couldn't tell you who the inverted freak might be, tho. but there's something about the outright lunacy of the pic that just seems so damn familiar... steve

i had to do a conference call from the beach on my cell... does that count? steve

Fun? Flips. Lots of 'em, every-whicha-way. Recover, then repeat. Just keep a CLOSE eye on that altimeter!!! Steve

Sis, Mega congrats on the new business!!! And with MONEY already coming in from the thing, all the more better! (i'm sooooo looking forward to putting myself on payroll next month -- we're on vapor, cougar!) Steve

OMG, Jessica, I swear I only delight in your torments when you phrase them so bloody well... I'd love to make up for the weak-ass post volume tonight; however, my fingers are phreaking numb from open-air-jeep-driving for the last two hours. Southern Cali-where? WTF is up with this 58F crap??? But, I figure this will help make your night... Me: Jessica, there's an error in sentence 1. *running for cover* Steve

one of my roomies did this quick little jobbie to my desktop wallpaper image (note: i *don't* usually use one -- just inspired by seeing twin peaks again recently, heh) a couple of days ago. it was quickly dubbed Mädchen Aphex. steve

*stifling giggles* ok, who else got that one? add a dash of monty python and a touch of military banter, and i'd bet... ummm, nevermind.

JP, I'm hoping to be there on Sunday, work permitting, so perhaps will see ya there! I'm easy to spot; this man wants to clean your clothes... And if you see her *running* toward you with a *beer*, BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID. Steve

Good for you! Sounds like something well worth negotiating, and just in time for summer! A recent spate of work-work-work has kept me from the dz outright for the last few weeks , but I'm really hoping to make up for it soon... I s'pose not having it for so long just makes you want it that much more! Steve
-
Hey, Snowbird, TOTALLY glad to hear your good news! Congrats... and jump yer arse off! Steve (just waking up now... heh)
-
Jessica, please remind me never to piss you off... Steve
