  1. i wasnt even thinking of getting a mobile home before, i really like that idea. And i don't have any credit established yet, so this is sounding good to me. thanks :)
  2. Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) was my one and only poison. I pretty much shut off from the outside world when i started it. My friends stopped calling, i sat alone in school and talked to no one, etc. But i suppose if i was a normal kid and did the normal things i wouldnt have got into skydiving, so it might not be all bad :)
  3. I'm not askin for people to find any exact locations, just what i should be looking for. is there anything that costs like $200 a month?
  4. lookin for a place next to skydive penn ridge in perkasie :) lookin for a place with somethin soft to sleep on, a shower, a stove and running water. thats about it
  5. So i've never thought about moving out until i started skydiving. I'm not 100% sure if i want to yet, but im thinking of moving as close to the dz as i can during the skydive season (April-September here in PA) and packing for money. Thing is i was a hardcore gamer for the last 5 years so i know jack shit about the real world. Not to mention my extreme shyness. Anyway, what would be the route to go? I plan on living alone, and would like to pay as little as i can to rent a place. Trailer, crappy apartment, w/e. Just looking for a little guidance. Thanks :) Edited to add, i don't want to ask my parents cause they'll be extremely pissed off about this, and i don't really feel like arguing about it.
  6. v set 1 number 1 is my favorite. Black and Orange, my two favorite colors. Also reminds me a lot of halloween. :D
  7. Thanks for all the replies. I'm not gonna use it for skydiving now. I was just hoping to save some money if i could.
  8. Just wondering if its possible to use a full face motorcycle helmet for skydiving too. Whats the rules and regulations on that? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the reply! I think it's good it cant pull away fast or be zippy, it'll stop me from being stupid or trying stupid things. I think i'd be more comfortable on a 250. I sat on some bigger 600 bikes, and they were way too big for me.
  10. Thanks for the reply. The dz that i have to drive the highway to get to is only temporary, until i finish my aff there. (PM if you want to know why) I would only drive back and forth there 4 times at the maximum, then im going to go to the dz that is half as far, a 40 minute ride. It is pretty much a country road the whole way there. Do you still think i should look around some more? Or will the um250 be fine for that?
  11. the guy i was talking to at the bike shop said previous customers had said they have gotten 98 miles per gallon on this bike: http://cbxmanmotorcycles.com/united-motors-v2c-250t-cruiser-motorcycle.aspx this is the one i was looking at to buy and do the safety course on
  12. this is the bike im thinking of buying http://cbxmanmotorcycles.com/united-motors-v2c-250t-cruiser-motorcycle.aspx
  13. i was just at the motorcycle shop. I found a 250 cc cruiser i was comfortable on. The place has the safety training also that im going to take. I need my own bike to do it though, so im probably going to buy the bike. It's $4,000, and the safety training at the place is $50 an hour. Does this sound like a good decision? This was the place i was at, http://cbxmanmotorcycles.com/
  14. ... clip ... im just extremely oblivious :P Not exactly a trait that will endear you to those you jump with...or drive with. 359 oblivious in the sense of real world knowledge. i feel i have good reaction time and reasoning skills for driving. definitely not for skydiving yet.
  15. I'm far from a gear head, but really, you should educate yourself alot more on bikes if you didnt even know these basics. Japanese and European bikes are metric, both in their parts (think 9mm bolts) and their engine sizes. cc = cubic centimetre, ie the size of the displacement of your engine. I got a SV 650 as a 1st bike, and I love it. Its a V-Twin, so doenst have the same crazy speed, say, a Honda 650rr has with the same engine size. It also doesnt have any fairings, so dropping it wont break as much plastic (or your heart) as a fully dressed crotch rocket. I think alot of the dirt and dual purpose bikes are 2 strokes engines. I know nothing about those, but my guess is that their power band will be completely different then a 4 stroke. Ask around. I'd say look at the SV650, the Ninja 500, and other in that category. thanks a lot for your reply. I really dont know anything about bikes, and this really helps. im probably going to do the bike safety course before i buy anything now. im gonna look into those bikes too.
  16. Upset because after you were banned in another forum for trolling you were called out for an outright lie? It upsets me when whuffos spread lies about the sport I love. Its even worst when a skydiving tourist does it and tries to sound like they know what their talking about because they've done a couple of tandems. Ok, um, i dont know what it is i did to you, but i'm sorry. I wish i never said what i saw, it obviously means a lot to you. I'm sorry for posting i saw a story about that.
  17. thispart here, indicates to me that you really need to do a course before you even start to look for a bike. or you're trolling people thought i was a troll when i posted in the general skydiving forum about skyride, and now im banned from that forum. im just extremely oblivious :P
  18. i cant get a link, i was wrong. i never saw it. you're right.
  19. Thank you for the response, it is very useful. Just to be sure, the yamaha xt250 bike, does the 250 part mean 250 cc's? and what does cc stand for? And for the training, would the dmv be the place to go for the bike training? The same place i got my ppermit and driver's license? Last thing, about the bike permit, is there a test for it or do i just go up and apply for it? My father's friend said he never took a test for it, but that was a while ago. sorry for all the questions :\
  20. I'm going to be on open country roads for the most part, very very little traffic. Speed limit of 45/50 pretty much the whole way there. My father's friend, who has been abiker for most of his life, said i should get a bike with at least 650 cc's. He said that getting a yamaha xt250 wouldnt be that smart, since its an off/on road bike. he said the tires arent great for the road and it doesnt have the power i'd want on the highway for where i'd want to go.he also said that you dont need to take any tests to get the permit, you just go and apply for it. Is this true? Also, i might be looking at bikes tomorrow, and if i get one and a permit, i'll have the option to go to the dz on it (the one that is further away). i have to go on the turnpike for 65 miles to get there, and i doubt i'll be ready for that. The speed limit there is 65. When do you guys think i'll be ready for that?
