Vectorboy, if I got any of this story wrong... please correct me. It's been a while since I spoke to the WS jumper above about this. ~Kim It does sound accurate kim, although I never talked to the jumper about it, I got my story from the pilot of the otter that was hit. There is one upside this pilot now WEARS his bailout rig.

I owe a huge apology to both Michele and Sinker.

Good save lad and just in time Michele has been out instructing at the kittie sniper training school at fort frisskies and you don't want her to assign you to one of her kadets (kitetes?) whatever. -
I'm sure they would've given me a quick ground lesson when I picked the suit up at their shop, but I didn't think it was a good idea for me to go that route when there are several BMI's at Deland. I highly recommend getting instruction before/on your first flight. Wing suit flights are so much better when you can fly with others regardless of experience and abilities. The more experience the second person has the better for minor critiques and major adaboys. You also have a gauge on how your flight is going not to mention its kick ass fun. I fly with others when I try a new or different suit so that I have a known quantity as a gauge, usually somebody I fly with often. Of the people that just were not impressed with their wing suit demos, yes sad to say I know of a select few some even sold there old classics cuz they were bored, it always came down to being solo. I also know of some people who had prior wingsuit experience (1-3 jumps) felt it was no big deal then get invited on a small flock with a borrowed suit and BAM! Nylon crack, gotta sell the kids into slavery to to pay for this. Its the same drug! First impressions are very important in this sport. You did it right my friend. Welcome to the flock. And don't fret having a second suit as a loner it will pay for itself.

Nope I just bring extra wingsuits so everyone can share, works like a charm. Everybody will love you!

I got one on the S3 haven't used it. Although I don't base it might be nice to have if I have to land out and didn't have enough time to deal with my zippers let say due to dealing with a spinning mal and lower than proper reserve opening altitude. These are all what ifs, my preference would be to have less clutter down by my wing cuttaways . Which I have executed strictly by feel on my non LQRS classic VERY quick suprising myself how clean and easy it was. Some people feel it adds to the suits resale value.

Be sure and make a head count of all of the tandems and AFF students on your load. Most of the regular fallers will be landing by the time you deploy, assuming you go out last which is recommended, but the tandems and students pull higher and loiter. These guys can be hard to spot at the speeds you are traveling until you get close. And this all is truelly important if you plan on any kind of pre approved "buzzing" later when you get more experience.

[ the wing is 2 pieces, a tapered locking joint attaches the delta wing to the rigid backpack for the rig. the delta wing can be manually released or will release automatically if over stressed. What do you do with the legs?
-
Yes you win a brand new DUCK wingi.

Hey Mujie can I have your old wings? If you don't love it anymore I mean.

I have a classic 2 that I bought used and well worn from the BM Demo program and one of Jari's first S3 prototypes. For me used was the way to go. They are well worn but should last me a long time as I don't spare the bucks on maintenance. I have had small repairs and mods done to both suits by riggers easily. Any person that can work on jumpsuits should be able to do work on the suit portion. If you need anything repaired on the wing portion then it is best to send it back too BM who will send it back to Robbi bird who really knows how to do repairs the best way. It maybe too costly in terms of time to do repairs ( locally) if the person is unfamiliar with the sequence of wingsuit construction. This is something to think about if you are thinking about a used suit and have the option to get one with wings that are in good condition and only requires repairs to the body portion. I saw an original classic sold at WFFC and all of the wear and tear on it can be repaired cheaply, like new booties or worn zippers. Not a bad investment for less than the price of a protrack.

I've got a Classic that would be perfect for you but I need to keep it to loan to everyone to fly with me Yes phree having a spare is worth its weight in not selling it.

There will be so many wingsuits at eloy that you will be able to do wing suit rodeo- wing suit hybrid ( as in the wffc biplane)- wingsuit crew- missing man formations- drunken man formations- naked girl rodeo- naked girl on top of bird man inverted flight ( the wingsuit guy will be naked but you won't be able to tell because of course he will be wearing a wing suit.) All of the above in various size flocks day and night. Many guys fly suits and do camera. Not all will be able to mount their cameras to face the rear. For those individuals you will have to twist ther entire head around prior to exit. Being naked will help. It should be fun for all! Oh and as for Lou, he does not like to be called baby lou, he much preferes BabaLou! -
And you can retrofit this little 4 or 5 inch flexible metal tube ( it is like the cutaway cable housing in your rig that traverses your yolk and mudflaps and pokes out at your 3 rings. But is only a few inches in length and has an end cap.) into other risers for less than 50 bucks. If you fly at heavy wingloads or even moderate wing loads on canopys that are famous for spinning up they are a good idea. Several experiments have been conducted in a hanging harness with a weight scale to show that they are effective at reducing the pressure required to cuttaway a bad main.

He has my vote. The article stated some of those locks are privately owned. Private companies or private individuals? As in the club didn't work so I got this. Or just stuff for angry mall security?

They also produced a version with different wing on one side than the other.
