  1. Consumers are borderline retarded when it comes to electronics. Go to Fry’s. Walk over to the computer flat screen monitors. Notice how great the picture looks on all the really expensive monitors and how dark and blurry the cheap monitors are. Then hit the “menu” button and see how bright the screen really is. The store is feeding a weaker signal to all the cheaper monitors. Go to Best Buy. Go to the flat screen “high definition” televisions and look at how they are being fed their signal. A standard definition coaxial is feeding all these HD TV’s and customers are bragging about how much better the picture is.
  2. It just goes to show that history repeats itself once again and proves that electronics consumers are the stupidest people on the planet. It’s funny how people tout Blu-ray as superior when both formats are fully capable of storing a full-length movie at 1080p HD-DVD was more accessible by allowing backwards compatibility with standard recordable DVD’s. This was a major advantage for independent video producers. While Blu-Ray has a higher capacity, it currently costs thousands of dollars to do any type of detailed menu authoring. Thank you consumers. Your ignorance has once again led us down the path of higher production costs.
  3. A lot of ex skydivers are on here all the time. I'm just trying to get a thread going on why people quit.
  4. What makes people grow tired of the sport and sell their gear? Is the rush just not there anymore? What made you decide to quit?
  5. One great thing about this movie is that Hollywood didn’t get their hands on it. If they had, it would have been rated PG-13, they would have added a side-kick, and all the good guys would have survived at the end. I refuse to see a PG-13 action flick. I don’t care how good people say it is. I don’t want to see Cloverfield for this reason. I respect Stallone for delivering a true action flick.
  6. I like them. I like the song "makes me wonder", kinda catchy in a retro kinda way.
  7. I just saw this movie. It is soo cool to see a good action flick like this. It's like the 80's all over again. There were 4 or 5 times I wanted to jump out of my seat and cheer Rambo on as he slaughtered those bastards! A lot of fun. I give it 4 stars!
  8. Taft, Perris & Elsinore are all in the $25 ticket range now. CalCity had been $25 per jump for over a year before they got shut down. If you want cheap tickets, you are going to have to sacrifice amenities. Skydive San Joaquin in Bakersfield charges $20 cash per ticket. It's a Cessna 182 to 12,500ft. Make your choice.
  9. I just had to contribute a few videos to this thread! Scorpions - "Tease Me Please Me" This video plays out like the ultimate sex fantasy! Gotta love the hot cougars! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpPHYEnDf5Q Winger - "Can't Get Enough" A day in the life of a typical guy. Wake up, hit the bag, climb a fence, shoot some pool and end up surrounded by hot chicks! Go Kip Winger!...the ultimate beefcake! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wpznsUMZdY Motley Crue - "Girls, Girls, Girls" I think this video speaks for itself! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJrSyFpK3iQ
  10. I would like to know how many guys out there have met women they’ve ended up dating at the dropzone. It seems like a rather tough challenge given the very small amount of female jumpers in our sport. Not to mention most of them appear to be seriously involved with someone already. If you were successful, what was it that set you apart from the other skygods at your dz?
  11. It looks like a bit of an optical allusion. The back is a bit thicker than the front. They used a similar trick with the newer I-mac design. It gets bulkier in the center and stays thin on the outside. Still pretty thin though.
  12. I happen to enjoy both Hollister & Monterey Bay. They both have great King Air's and jump from 15-18K. They both have pretty good vibes, just watch the landing area at Monterey. It's small and dangerous.
