i understand the concept its still ridicolous i dont see a reason why the taxes cant be collected nationally and equally spread amongst the population, just because someone is from a city does not entitle them to a better education. but then i dont fully understand the difference between federal and state taxes so im sure the reason its not done like that is in there somewhere this is definitely off topic so i wont post in this thread again

it is different and the affects may not be as immedietely pronounced as they were in ireland but there is no downside to easily accesible college education. since i have been here i have also heard that each child is apparently not treated equally when it comes to education at a younger age with people from cities etc having more money spent on each child then those from rural areas if that is a fact then it is a ridicolous state of affairs. having said all that i am loving america at the moment and iv robably gone off topic

i dont know the ins and outs of the bill your talking about or the gi bill BUT my country started paying for everyones college education in around the mid 70's around 15 years later we were at the beginning of a massive economic growth that is only now evening out to rates of growth equal with eu levels(we have greatly surpassed them constantly since then) i am now in the states and have to say that ANYTHING that helps more americans go to college is a good thing for american people in general with the amount of money your government wastes on military spending in the first place i would have thought that the benefits of thousands of enlisted men getting a full college education to the economy would be most desirable

thanks for the advice guys has anyone any experience with eg suits http://www.egsky.com . they are going to be at my dz in the near future so if they have a good reputation it would be good to get measured up properly while they are here

so iv only got 12 jumps but im working at a dz for the next 3 months so will hopefully get that number up as much as i possibly can in the mean time iv talked to my instructors here(over a beer or two) about gear etc and while i was going to buy all 2nd hand gear one thing they said was to buy a good new jumpsuit as it will last a long long time. i want to concentrate on belly down rw with the view of being as best prepared to fly camera as i can be when the time comes and iv gotten advice off some of the flyers who post here that the best way to do that is rw i think i want a tonysuit as one of the instructors here has one and besides everything else they look great but iv been told they have a massive waiting list and i need to have it at the latest the middle of august so are there other suits i should be considering and why? thanks in advance, mark

so tomorrow is the day im flying out to america for 3 months to work as a packer and hopefully get my a licence in the process. as you can see i only have 6 jumps and im not quite at the standard of packing i was hoping id be at(time wise and only ever watched a throw out pc being packed as my home dz generally only uses static line and spring loaded in their student rigs) so im basically looking for any last minute advice from current packers and jumpers about things like how i should act when i get there dos and donts that have possibly taken you years to realise but would help me straight off. the dz knows im new and im a very fast learner im still a bit nervous of it all going to shit though wat yall think? -
you wont even relocate for an irish guy?
-
well damo ur defo due some luck with the weather after your last few trips away i should be settled in new england by that stage so if u get a sudden injection of disposable income extend the holiday and come visit see ya round campus
-
hahahahow u know im from limerick? is it in my profile? im from dublin just in college in limerick there was a 15 yr old stopped driving a car with a bulletproof vest on a few weeks ago near here and his teenaged passenger had one on too and automatic weapons...mad shit but iv never had trouble here

while i agree that normal sane human beings should be allowed have a gun if they want and that these people probably are not going to do anything bad with their gun i dont think full legalisation in ireland is a good idea for one thing it would mean the automatic arming of all gardai and an unarmed police force is a luxury i would not like to give up lightly and im irish obviously by the way

assuming your not 7.5ft tall then you are very overweight(again assuming its not all muscle) do you not think its a good thing to have this major incentive to lose weight? im only guessing here(im a noob) but you would need to find a place with around a 550sqft tandem main and reserve and a very big harness

Skydiving as main career/main source of income

go on give us a hint on the lifestyle seen as im going to start living it in 3 weeks but dont really know what to expect. as a packer in particular -
while i moan about america alot(not americans really just america) i love alot of things about it and i love that they guarantee me a 4 month working visa to visit them every year that i am a student in ireland.........visa one begins on 22nd of may and a flight to boston cant wait keep the good things coming especially were travelling and stuff is concerned i gotta cram as much as possible into my 4 months
-
im a noob so take my advice for what its worth you dont sound like you particularly enjoyed your tandem but you are still interested in giving the sport a chance so i would recommend doing your next tandem either way and then make a decision. i watch mal videos all the time but nowhere near as much as i watch compilation videos of really really cool jumps(wingsuit rw etc, i find freeflying boring to wathc ) so make sure you are balancing what you are watching or else you will understandably get psyched out
-
iv also been thinking something similar to this...... scenario A)pc in tow you choose to cutaway and pull reserve. not enough pull from pc to get rid of main/bag until, for whatever reason, the reserv is deployed scenario B) pc in tow you dont cut away but pull reserve you realise that the main is deploying/has deployed so you now have a two out or are a about too and cut away the main which scenario is more likely to mess up your reserve if either? what i mean is will the bag being pull out with no anchor point on the jumper be more likely to cause damge/entanglement or will a cutaway of a partially or fully deployed main be more likely to cause damage? hope op dosnt mind me adding in question
