Are we talking about Britney or Hillary? I have to say: "emotional mess"? Because she barely teared up in an interview? No. She gave enough to be considered "human" and "relatable", and no more than that. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Oy vey. You just don't know women at all! Hilary is just not right-minded. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Just based on her body language alone--I might have bought it until she did the dramatic pause, then placed her chin in her hand and shook her head. Video. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I like him as a friend, but it would never work out between us. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Oh my gosh, that's exactly what he was doing! It'd be funny if I knew he later turned out to be OK. OK, I admit it's already a little funny. But, I still feel really awful and can't believe I didn't think to inspect the sheets. Whenever I repot plants (my Christmas cacti) this time of year I always find slumbering lizards in the pot--sometimes five or six of them in one pot! I should have known better. Pussy. Little green snakey is not going to hurt you. Pick it up and place it in your annoying neighbor's yard. It's a win-win. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Shpanks!

Yea, um...if it were still close to freezing I wouldn't be washing the cover-up sheets. It's not like the plants care if they're dirty. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Totally.

I thought about this the other night. I haven't considered myself single since I met Billy, pretty much. But, we were at my friend's wedding the other night and "all the single ladies" were gathered to catch the bouquet. I was gathered. I went. I stood in the back. Afterward, I realized had I had a moment before being yanked by the arm and rushed off to the floor with all the other "hopefuls" I would have politely declined. What the hell do I need to catch a bouquet for? I'm not single. And really it's just for the single guys to see who the eligible bachelorettes are anyways. In a related, but off-topic comment: At this time I have no desire to marry. Billy and I will be together forever--no doubt. I'm nuts about him. But (and no offense to the married couples) I feel like every day we are together it's b/c we really want to be, not b/c we agreed to be. Everything we have & do is joint. We have no real "problems" in our "marriage". We're just best friends who are attracted to one another and completely in love with each other. I told him, "Maybe when I'm 60 and you're 70 and we've been together 40 years we'll marry. And then we can brag about being newlyweds and go on a honeymoon."

Thank goodness the ocean warmed the air in our neighborhood just enough we didn't freeze. But, for three days in a row we were threatened with it and covered a few of our more finicky outdoor plants with sheets & towels. I did a load of laundry today including these used cover-up towels & sheets I'd just gathered up from around the house. After the wash cycle was complete, I started transferring the clean, wet laundry to the dryer and in one now-wadded-up towel a beautiful, bright green lizard fell out. The tears in my eyes were instantaneous. I reached to pick him up and to my surprise he moved away. The poor thing was trying to get away moving in circles, though. I finally captured him and placed him outside under a bush. I hope he'll be OK. I feel so awful! So, while I realize it sounds silly , please don't forget to check your outside sheets & towels for little fellows before washing them. Thank you.

Sec of Health held religious meetings as Governor
PLFXpert replied to DSE's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree. I think it's silly, however, to think one's religious beliefs do not play a role sometimes in the decisions they make as congressmen/women. But, while I believe religious beliefs should not be completely overlooked when deciding on a candidate, for me it really would only come in to play if there were two candidates I couldn't decide between & one believed as I did and the other believed in something weird. Fear not. My cat has been shut inside our master closet (which does not have a kitty door) on numerous occasions by accident. Yet he continues to go in when the door is open. Most people I know with flaps did the "shut kitty in closet and let kitty figure way out" method to teach them. I see no harm in that. But, again I have to wonder why the flap is so important? (Edit: Unless one has a dog or cat door leading outside.) Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

That's what we've always done for our cat closet. I fail to see why a flap is important enough for me to try and train kitty to use it. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Put them in the closet and shut the door. They will figure out how to get out. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

These are always a funny way to look back. (Did a quick search. Don't think it's been posted yet.) Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

This is exactly what I was talking about in conversation the other day with family.
