  1. Jumpergirl, I forgot to mention something I think is kinda cool. I know it may be a stretch but did you meet another girl doing stunts named Rena? I don't know her last name or even know her well for that matter but she doesn't know that she is kinda why I started skydiving. When I was going to UF, I lived in Gainesville and the only car insurance company that would take me with my record # of speeding tickets was a company called Florida No-Fault. Anyways, it's kinda a hole in the wall establishment and you wait FOREVER to meet with a person to fill out forms and stuff and while I was waiting one summer (2 summers ago) this girl came in wearing a skydiving shirt and since I've always been into extreme sports, we started talking. She told me she was a traveling massuse but that her real *job* was a skydiver. She said she'd just gotton back from Thailand (a country I'm obsessed with visiting) where they broke a world record and that her boyfriend, named Rambo, and her were going to be doing some stunts for a movie that would be out the following summer, called "Cutaway" and that I should watch for it. She had so many awesome things to say about the sport of skydiving and I was so envious of the traveling, record-breaking, and overall passion in the sport that I never stopped thinking about it and the following summer, I finally began AFF (this is why I planned on doing AFF right from the beginning w/out a tandem b/c I just knew it was for me.) Anyways, about a month after I did my first couple levels of AFF was when the movie "Cutaway" finally came out and I remembered her telling me about it. I wish that I could run into her sometime and thank her for taking the time to talk to me that day while we were waiting. I know when I mentioned her to my AFF instructor, Billy Weber, that he knew her but I haven't met anyone else that knew of her. Anyways, I just want to thank her
  2. Isn't this the same exact story everyone's been talking about under "no comment?" Carrie
  3. OMG! Tee, you crack me up girl!!! Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  4. I couldn't agree more....they make fun of me sometimes at the DZ b/c I'd be yelling "watch out" to some of the other jumpers who landed and then I'd land 20 feet away from them....ha ha ha. (I still don't really have the concept down of how quickly or slowly for that matter I'm coming down. Luckily, I always end up w/in 20 feet of the target but damnit, I still have never landed ON it.) MUCH LOVE AND BLUE SKIES, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  5. Jumpergirl, I'm STOKED for you. Just remember to always turn it on....he he he. I've been known to not turn my on until *after* my first jump of the day. Speaking of money in court settlements (I'm sure Frank will appreciate this) we have learned about a million different ways to libel someone in journalism and how easy it is to make a million if you are a private citizen who is libeled. In all honesty, I wish someone would print a horrible outrageous lie about me in the paper just so I could sue and make a mill to skydive

    hey carrie!

Wingie is in some top-secret spot? Are you going undercover too, JT? Yes, BZ and I will have to *rough* it now that we don't have Freddie's trailer to sleep in. Actually, we stayed in it every weekend and I don't think Freddie ever needed it. Jerry Bird kicked us out though Halloween Boogie weekend and I had my very first *tent* experience. It was reeeeeaaaalllly comfy on the air mattress but in the dead of winter it was waaaaaaaay too cold
  7. Jumpergirl, this is awesome. I'm sure it's a very rewarding feeling to know you contributed (and had a kick ass time
  8. I agree, Zennie. Although I'm no lawyer, I've taken waaaaay too many law classes and discovered just how easy it is to bend the rules and get away with shit. Do you think that's the only reason, though, they'd cancel it? I mean there are a lot of shows like that on MTV like "Jackass," "Beavis and Butthead," and "Tom Green" and shows on other channels as well that stupid people try to reinact. I wouldn't think that is the only reason why it's cancelling but that sux if it is. Much love and blue skies, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  9. Right on, Matt. I'm stoked to hear that. We need more chicks ruling in this sport. Tee and I will both agree with you that it just doesn't get any better than jumping with the one you love
  10. I didn't know this so I'm sure that they both did. Mike is one of the first people I met in the sport and has been a very good friend ever since. I'm pretty sure he wouldnt' lie when he said he did some stunts and there were quite a few pictures he had with his face painted black. I'm sorry though about not giving John credit as well. I don't know him and I don't know any of the other people involved in the stunts so I'm glad you brought that up so that each get credit
  11. He he he...I bought my goggles after my AFF1 simply b/c I'm really weird about things touching my face and I couldnt' STAND wearing the student goggles on AFF1. Weird, huh? I love the wind, water, ext. on my face but if anyone tries to touch my face I go crazy. Not sure why, just always been like that.....so goggles are a GREAT thing to have of your own is my point
  12. Ahhhhh, Cave of the Swallows. Now I have a name to fit the dream. Mentally, I'm ready for it but experience-wise, it will be a little while (not too long I hope
  13. HA HA HA HA....you guys are too much and I won't come right out and say it but as our swimmer saying goes "leaving a little is leaving too much." Unfortunately, not too many of the playboy girls live by that saying either but at least they've seen what a little razor action can do. That girl just needs a little advice that's all....I'm sure you boys would be more than willing to show her how. MUCH LOVE AND BLUE SKIES, Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  14. In addition to Jumpergirl's statement that it was filmed in Skydive Miami, the beach shots were also filmed by Norm's house in Flagler (daytona). It's all REALLY cool even though I haven't been to skydive miami. Speaking of Rodman...he he he...Mike Michigan did his stunts...ha ha ha, they had to paint his face and the pictures are really funny
  15. This happened to me too. Actually, mine's a little different though. I was scheduled for AFF1 (had never done a tandem but was going to just get certed) but when they told me the ground school would be all day, and I didn't have all day, I did a tandem on the beach. I LOVED the freefall but after we were under canopy, I started to feel really sick and my tandem master just told me to look at the horizon instead of straight down. I did but still felt like I'd puke. I didn't, thankfully and as soon as we got back to manifest, I signed up for another date to do my AFF1. My tandem master said it was common to feel sick b/c of the way you are positioned in the harness or something. Needless to say, my first AFF jump I didn't have that problem. Speaking of funny tandems though, our DZ had some FUNNY video's of students loosing their lunch under after they got to the ground and REALLY funny nakie tandems! He he he...
  16. This is true, and even though I don't have hundreds of jumps yet I'm one of the latter unfortunately. I have eventually remembered to log them in a couple days later or something but for some reason, right after an awesome skydiving day, I'm just not thinking about logging it in my book. He he he, I also still have the log book you get for free in AFF
  17. I thought the first chick co-host he had was really cool but the one they have now, I must agree, Froggie, she's kinda ditzy. MUCH LOVE AND BLUE SKIES! Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
  18. I HAVE THIS! I agree, it's really good. Mike from Skydivingmag gave this to me when I told him how much I wanted to BASE in that hole in the ground in Mexico after reading about that in one of the back issues he gave me. Anybody else REALLY want to do an underground jump??? I'm stoked on the idea and can't wait (although I won't be doing it anytime soon
  19. Hey guys, I noticed someone mention in the "Pilots" thread the MTV show "Senseless Acts of Video." Just wondering how many of you watch this and how many would try the same shit Troy does? I have only seen it a few times but the few I've seen always looked like fun and in the few I've seen, all involved some sort of skydiving. I thought it was pretty cool....anybody think different? MUCH LOVE AND BLUE SKIES! Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

    hey carrie!

He he he....good call, Zennie. Then i could just use my canopy as a blanket and pack her up in the morning
  21. Ha Ha Ha! The incident itself isn't very funny but the spectators clapping.....ha ha ha. Too sweet. Much love and blue skies! Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

    hey carrie!

I was referring to you as well since I thought you had plans to move here. Are you still doing that? Also, from what I've gathered on here there are some really cool DZs around where you live in Georgia. I'm NOT shunning you away b/c we LOVE seeing you here but have you ever visited on closer by to you in Georgia? I think there is even a thread on here about all the Georgia skydivers on DZ.com. Right now, I am destitute but next month, swim season starts and I'll be coaching/instructing again and making the good dinero so only a couple more weeks, THANK GOD, of raman noodles, way too few jumps, and selling just about everything I used to own. I literally have nothing left of value except my rig and that's NEVER going even if I have to sleep with it in the streets....ha ha ha. So you can tell I'm really anxious for my job to start back up and the good news is that starting next month, it'll be a year around position for me which means no more annoying side jobs (I can tell ya what those are later.) MUCH LOVE AND BLUE SKIES
  23. Wildblue, I hear you....I *really* want to do night jumps but I don't have any of my liscenses yet. I'll get around to it though! Those butterflies come to my tummy ANY time I try something new but call me strange but I like it. It's like you're constantly conquering your own fear so to speak. I've never met anything I wouldn't try...fear to me is a lack of faith so when those butterflies come, it's like, in my opinion, you're proving that you know that your fate is not in your own hands and you're just going to have to trust God (for those of you that believe in that) to only take you when he's ready. Obviously I don't mean you don't need common sense but you get it
