Exactly. I am truly a walking contradiction about everything....for example, I hold on to clothes, but in general I am SO not a pack rat. I hate clutter, etc. so most of the trips to Goodwill quarterly are non-clothing items. I'd rather donate them, than deal with a garage sale or Ebay or whatever. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Oh, dont' get me wrong, I donate a lot, too. For different reasons, I do take some of my stuff to this little second-hand boutique in the area and donate the earnings to my animal charities. But, I have a lot of American Eagle-type casual clothes that I'm always taking to Goodwill. I just took a huge sleeper sofa to Goodwill yesterday, actually. I do the Goodwill thing quarterly, usually. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

My dog alawys looks at me with this sad little face when I insist on taking him out in the rain to pee. Andrea, it's not much better here either today. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I was molded into a neat freak. My father would NEVER have stood for clothes on the floor. In fact, I remember a horrible incident when I'd recently ripped out a page in my spiral notebook and there was a spirally piece on the floor. My ass was grass We joke about it now...I loosened him up over the years quite a bit Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

No line....but for some reason I have a couple ragged pairs that I've had for, gosh, 10 years?
-
Ironing. I try to do the lay-flat-on-bed-and-smooth-out-with-hand as often as possible. I don't have this problem with my clothes though except for the occasional jeans---Yes, I wash & dry my jeans (I don't understand the concept of not-drying them?)---it's my hunny's shirts Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Sucky here, too But, lucky for me, Flashdance was on HBO Oh my gosh, that was my FAVORITE movie when I was a little girl (I know there's nudity, but I was rarely sheltered from anything, even in the single-digit years). I had the soundtrack that had to be replaced 3 times! And, I still cried at the end when she finally danced for the school

Rats Next weekend I'm having new carpet installed in the bedrooms. But, keep me posted. Billy and I have been talking about getting down to Deland for the past 2 months. Soooo, give it another 2 months and we might actually get there A little inspiration, like a get together would do the trick, though Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Oooooo, thanks for the head's up Andrea He has his good weeks and bad. I will let them know and hopefully they can make it. If you're there, they'll be in the green SUV (I can't remember what kind they just got) watching from the parking lot. It's a little hard for him to get out anymore and walk around But, he still really enjoys it. Speaking of which, I just looked in my log book and it's been 2 years since I've jumped in Deland! And now that I know RL is there and a lot of other great dz.com'ers are close by, I really think we need to plan a get-together SOON! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

My hunny kind of adopted my grandpa. He used to fly in the navy WAAAAAY back then, and of course has done a jump or two, also WAAAAYY back then He tells a lot of stories, but we've all heard most of them a hundred times (but they're still really funny). So, he gets a real hoot out of Billy and vice versa. Actually, Billy has even gone to see him on his own as it's a nice Harley ride for him. Billy's grandpas both passed away when he was pretty young, so he never really had a grandpa. He's absolutely in love with mine, and vice versa, and that's just fine by me I really do love my grandpa so much. He's just as big of a smart ass as the rest of us Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

That's HILARIOUS! I love the movie While You Were Sleeping and there's the part where the grandma says in response to would she like some more wine "I don't drink anymore.....I don't drink any less, either" I love that! That movie reminds me of my hunny's family. They are all so crazy, but such good people and so much more family-oriented than mine. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Awww, thank you I thought about deleting that, as the focus of the thread was your mom. But, wanted you to know I know what you were feeling before and am so happy everything will be OK Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

OK But, I'm seriously considering pimping out mine now for ya'll. My grandpa loves visiting the DZ in Deland, as they live in a retirement community not far from there. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Fantastic! What a relief I can relate...my grandpa is going through chemo at 88 years old He is so open and funny about it and I have learned so much from him watching him fight this. He's amazing. And he LOVES that we skydive He's even been to the DZ in Deland several times to watch everyone. Anywho...I'm so happy to hear the great news, Chris. Edit: P.S. Didn't mean to thread-hyjack

I just called mine and she is fucking hilarious I try to call all my grandparents once or twice/month. My family is not very close and come to find out, I'm the only grandchild any of them ever hear from I admit, at 25, sometimes you just forget or get busy, but when I call, I wonder why I didn't call sooner. They are the funniest people ever. My father's mom is Kentucky country all the way. In her thick down-home accent I got to hear all about the neighborhood gossip, her version of course. I wish I had taped it, as I know ya'll would appreciate how matter-of-fact and who-gives-a-rats-ass she is. But her points were always intelligent and wise. I just think we all need to stop and listen a little more, a little longer. It's so worth it Cherish this sappy moment from PLF, as they are mere hiccups amid the smart-assedness Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
