Yey! The good news is, she's a kitten and very likely to become fond of and be sweet to the dog as she gets used to him.

Couple of links regarding declawing: http://www.helpinganimals.com/animalsHome_cats_declaw.asp and http://www.peta.org/campaigns/ar-declawingcats.asp We have one declawed cat and one w/ claws. The declawed was already declawed when we adopted her. I am very much anti-declawing cats. I sympathize with your situation, though. Cats, and all animals in general, require commitment and sometimes sacrifice. I have sacrificed two leather La-Z-Boy recliners (They were my parent's who gave them to me when they bought new furniture). I can tell you only from my own personal experience. Sabre (the one w/ claws) clawed those up as a kitten, b/c kittens tend to always have their claws out when they run, jump and play. Since about a year old he hasn't ruined a single piece of furniture. He did, however, ruin a silk sweater I had hanging in the closet---I caught him dangling on it. Instead of getting mad, I took a picture. (It was really cute!). I don't want doggie hurt either, though. We have a dog and Sabre has only schwacked him once (we've had him a year). That was all it took for Cruzer to learn "Don't go to them, let them come to you." They've both since come around and Zoe' (our other kitty) even plays with Cruzer all the time.

I watched more of the first season last night... I had no idea there had been a previous connection b/c House & Cameron. I read somewhere, however, there might be a romance between them in the third season. We'll see if I like it. I think I prefer House alone. I wouldn't want him to get all "glowing" and stuff. Pineapple juice and Parrot Bay was my signature drink in high school. I haven't had much of it since. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

OK. I've just watched part of the first season on DVD and I have a much better understanding of previous posts... As you know, I started watching House the second season. I'm IN LOVE with it. But, after watching some of the first season, I understand why SkyMonkey and others thought it was a little too drama-filled. The second season did not have Volger as a character and only had House's ex-wife in the first few episodes. It's funny b/c I even remarked to Billy (before having seen the first season) that I liked season two better after the ex-wife was gone. The problem with the first season was too many main characters and a lot more drama. What makes the second season of House so great is w/out the other characters, there is a lot more time in the little room with the white board discussing symptoms, putting heads together, and making LOTS of sarcastic, hilarious jokes. That's the part I love! Well, that and how Cameron, Cuddy and House are each always right in their own way, yet never agree. So, I call to those who watched the first season and gave up... Try again.

Actually numerous studies show that a child who was aware of its parents healthy sexual life is more apt to have a healthy one themselves. It is no coincidence I heard my dad & stepmom doing it, like, all the time. Oh, by the way: My stepmom never had her own kids, but she raised me from age 8; totaly selfish of her. It's hilarious to me this debate is still going on, with all the holes and lack of structure and all. Selfish/Unselfish is relative... Mother Teresa did not have children. Of course she was a nun. I guess by some peoples' logic it would therefore be selfish to become a nun. Wait, no, that would be an exception to the rule. But, no other exceptions can/shall exist... The above example is silly. Just like this debate.

I just wanted to reiterate that sentiment.

I agree. One does not necessarily need a religious belief to know right from wrong. There are many/most pro-choicers that do believe in God or have another religious belief and do not believe abortion is "wrong" per se. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I wish I could keep my dog out of the bedroom. But, he's just too cute pressing my arm with his wet nose to see if I'll tell him "No" and when I don't (which is always) he jumps up, curls up as small as he can next to me, lets out a big, howling yawn and lays his head next to mine on the pillow... Now how can I resist? I wake up and I can't touch my eyes or anything until I get up and wash my hands and arms. Otherwise, I'm pretty much screwed. But he's cute and he loves me and that's most important. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Are you against war? I'm not saying I don't wish/hope for that too, Lisamarie.

Again, it is not this sentiment some people debating with you have issue with. It's that not everyone believes in God. And not everyone who believes in God interprets His will in this way. Is it right to make a law based on your religious belief when not everyone who would be governed by this law shares your same religion? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Abortion is personal. "Pro-choice" and "Pro-Life" are political. They describe how you vote/how you would vote. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Oh yea, just call me "Auntie Carrie". I'm an only child, mind you. But, I'm "Auntie Carrie' to my friends' kids and they love me. I get to spoil them and teach them bad manners. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Selfish? Unselfish? I could be viewed as the most selfish woman ever... I told Billy one month into our relationship I never had the desire to have children and likely never would. He didn't say anything... After the "I love you" and "I love you, too" I reminded him. This was after four months. Ten months into our relationship we moved in together. We went out to dinner, and again I asked him. He said this to me, "I've thought about this. Before I met you I never really thought if I wanted children or not. When I met you I knew I'd fall in love. And you were kind enough to alert me of your feelings on children before the actual fact. And I thought to myself about it for the first time. And I'd rather have you in my life, than have children with another woman." And since then, he's actually expressed the exact same thoughts as me on the subject, which is that we do not have a desire to, but if we did, we'd mostly certainly adopt.

It sounds as if you don't understand what it means to be "pro-life" or "pro-choice". "Pro-life" and "Pro-Choice" are political views; I.E. how you vote. If the pro-lifers won the vote (should there be one), abortion would cease to be an option for anyone. Pro-choice is not, as you mentioned, imposing one's views unto you, b/c (should they win the vote) you still have the freedom to make your own choice; the choice never to have an abortion and attempt to "help" those who confide in you to choose otherwise as well.

Now that's one allergy I might actually pray for... Then, I wouldn't feel so bad for killing them.
-
That is one problem for many. The other problem some people have is not your feeling the way you do--I personally believe you likely have a good heart and your decision on the subject comes from a good place--but, you're imposing that unto others (by being pro-life) & making a decision for them, whereas they might also be coming from a good place, but have an opposite view as you. Being pro-choice doesn't necessarily mean one doesn't believe in God, or doesn't value life, etc. It can simply mean that person doesn't want to impose their personal views unto others by trying to take away another's right. You just reminded me... Meridian, ChaosKitty uses Claritin, which doesn't do shizzal for me. I use the Kirkland Signature brand Allergy Sinus which I think is their brand of Tylenol Allergy Sinus and that works wonders for me. It's important to note to try several things and find what works for you.

Excellent! When you're good and drugged up, give me a call. We should meet for drinks. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

First, I am said nut. But, I don't throw paint on coats. I believe that makes me cooler, no matter what GTA says. Secondly: They absolutely would!
