My recent post in the coffee thread just got my thoughts rolling. I sometimes write things because they just develop in my mind and will not leave me alone until I do something with them. Piis - The fact that you are visualizing ME in a discussion of erotica is a bit unnerving. Surely there are better candidates on the forum? What is a militia? Most states have what is called a State Defense Force (SDF). These Militias are the only force that states now have to actually protect it self from the Federal Govt.. These State Defense Forces are not typically provided with weapons. Hell, they have to even provide their own uniforms. IF and when the Federal Govt. turns on the people, by banning all "Assault Rifles" they effectively reduce these SDF's to handguns and shotguns. This is what they 2nd amendment is about. Flame away. Right, until they demonstrated they were capable. Do you seriously not see the difference? As I said previously, if a woman can demostrate she can pass the physical and mental aspects to perform in a combat position, then let her do it. Just don't lower the standards for political reason and put lives at risk. I seriously doubt a 95 lb woman could be as effective tossing a 265 lb male over her shoulder as a 185 lb male. Argue all you want, it just makes you look silly. Mostly, I need to to carry her own stuff, be able to toss a grenade, keep up, and put accurate fire on target. If I get hit, I mostly need her to be able to relieve a tension pneumothorax, apply a chitosan bandage, apply a tourniquet, or insert a nasopharyngeal airway. I have thought about this issue for about 28 years now. I have no problem going into combat with a properly conditioned and trained female. In a combat situation today, you are only going to drag anyone a few feet to a covered position. The body armor has a handle at the top rear for that purpose. So do backpacks. It's really not that much of a problem. First aid is provided on the spot by your buddy. Medics will get to you at some point. There is no fireman carry for a mile to the medics like in WWII. It's possible, but not frequent. I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. OK, now I'm confused. I thought blind rage and unremitting hostility was an asset in combat. Only if you can drop them behind enemy lines so there is no damage to friendly forces. I think the change in standards that I saw was a poster saying they should raise the standards for women. Currently, women are not required to do as many pushups, situps or run as fast in the Army as the males. It seems if there is one enemy, there should be one standard; whatever that standard might be. There has been talk of making the test more functional. Infantry would be tested on 3-5 second rush like in combat, speed of reloading, ruck march, etc. Always made sense to me.
