  1. morals are morals wether you are dealing with marriage, church or daily life. Both McCain and Obama are guilty of bad moral standing along with the rest of us. The difference between McCain and Obama is that the dirt on McCain is mostly very old and Obama's is mostly recent. Obama hasn't proved over a period of time that he has the ability to do better. The recent crap put on by both in sleezy comercials has been disapointing, granted they don't put the comercials together but they do aprove them. I along with the rest of the serious voters want someone to sit down and actually spell out a plan on how they will fix the problems we face, not just tell us how wonderfull things will be after we elect them potus. Obamas tax numbers just don't add up to any economist and McCain hasn't described the what regulations he will put on big buisiness ceo's. I guess that we will have to wait until the debates to get any serious info from the candidates.
  2. Maybe to someone who doesnt see the big picture of how hundreds of years of overt, institutional and generational racism could still have a negative effect on an individual this view would be seen as "odd". But as Ive stated in other posts your view is easy, its not difficult to be a republican you are in the "haves" of course you wouldnt want change so the playing field could be level. Historically in this country republicans have supported pro racist policies and fought to keep them on the books. ----------------------------------------------------------- wasn't Lincoln a republican? and you say republicans are racists?
  3. she did the beauty contest to pay for college - the money for winning was the reason.
  4. he did let you keep more of your pay by lowering taxes.
  5. Clinton counted imaginary money in his so-called "budget surplus." It was smoke-and-fuckin'-mirrors. It was chicanery. It was bullshit. It was not a surplus. When you figure out your household budget this month, be sure to add in the + column the $15,000 you'd sell your 3-year-old SUV for, even though you won't be selling it and you won't be getting that money to put into your accounts. That's the kind of thing that Clinton did with NY's Governor's Island. Acted as though the government were in possession of the proceeds of the sale of it, even though there was no buyer and no sale on the horizon. How many other such examples were used to pad his "surplus" I don't know, but I imagine the answer is probably "many." So then the surplus that Buhs gave back really wasn't a surplus and he gave us money from the gov that really wasn't theirs either? Also, if Clintn didn't create a surplus, how was it that the debt went from 250b/yr to 33B/yr and shrinking every year of the 8 years he was in office? ------------------------------------------------------ that is still a deficit. 250 or 33 is still negative. and my bring home pay kept shrinking. I had to work 2 jobs and have a roomate to pay my bills. you wonder why the economy tanked after he left office?
  6. just because it didn't happen doesn't mean she didn't have influence and the ability to do things.
  7. i bought my shop after 911, refinance 3 loans(without taking any equity, and still got almost 1000 jumps and 3 vacations to mexico & south america. just goes to show that most of the people are lazy and want the government to do it for them.
  8. if I remember correctly didn't Hillary try to get health care reform ? doesn't look to me like the first lady has no ability to do or influance.
  9. I am better off along with alot of my freinds. I have increased my net worth by a couple hundred thousand. Why because i work and take care of my responsibilities unlike alot of people who suck off the system and want the government to carry their asses.
  10. the huricane debacle was caused by the local government not ordering an evacuation like they should have and then telling the feds that the levees held. remember the governer is in charge of the national gaurd there and is responsible for getting the information to the feds. that was what caused the debacle to start aid. the war is on a credit card, we haven't paid for it yet. the economy is in the dumper because of STUPID people that went into debt and are now loosing their houses all because of their poor decisions.
  11. the popular vote and the vote of congress says we. just because you didn't want it personally doesn't mean WE as a nation didn't.
  12. Bush has done alot of good things during his tome but alot of what he has done has been overshadowed by the economy, the length of the Iraq war and the response time for Katrina. It is funny how WE as a nation could want the war then blame bush for it, how he can be held responsible for a hurricane. he did mobilize more aid in a shorter amount of time than in any other natural disaster in the history of the US. as far as the economy, it isn't his fault that to many stupid people over extended themselves and lost their houses.
  13. he got better than i did and i thought i was given better than most so no i don't think he had a poor or humble childhood.
  14. Hard line Party only voters on this forum should take heed, don't vote purely on emotion and party lines. Know your candidates! Obama is not this un-amerocan outsider many people assume him to be. He comes from a very poor and humble background, his rise to the candidacy is purely based on his own efforts. ------------------------------------------------------------ comes from a very poor and humble backround ? this guy has got you snowed. he went to a very elite private school in hawaii.
  15. yes but you don't need to have tax increases to increase revenue. just make everyone work and pay their fare share of taxes. democrats have to many programs that favor the lazy and promote more people to collect welfare and these do not promote increase in tax revenue. IMO
  16. evertime i hear Palin speak i see a genuine concern for what is needed and right. she hasn't said one thing that would make me say "what the fuck was she thinking" I like how she is able to talk in a calm manner and be fair and open minded, then later make a descision after she has the facts needed.
  17. i don't see a lie. she looked at the project and its effects and then said no. shouldn't this election be looking at what has happened? how the candidates have actually worked? I like the fact that Palin decided to change her mind on the subject because it shows she wants what is best for Alaska and when she is in the whitehouse she will do the same for the country. not to mention that it wasn't her that got the earmaks it was Stevens
  18. there are alot of views from every political party that are good and bad. Iam sure you don't believe in all your Parties views. Just because a statement was made (probably caused by someone pissing him off) doesn't mean the entire party is bad. this is a fragment what was it refering to?It is the views of all parties that give us perspective on the big picture.
  19. sounds like Palin is interested in improving Alaskas infrastructure and bettering the state. Sounds like a concerned govoner. then later she realized that the Gravina bridge was not so good after all and cancelled the bridge project. then spent the money on better projects that the state needed. and there is a problem where?
  20. Acording to this, niether Obama nor Mccain will reduce the deficit or insure all the people. sounds like the onlything we have left is foriegn policy and that sends McCain to the front of the race.
  21. I can't speak for Todd Palin but I would asume that he got out because some of the groups views were not his. Todd signed up in 1995 and 2000 to the Alaskan independance party. did you read http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26524024/? it explains the issue pretty good
  22. not according to this articlehttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26524024/
  23. Palin was not part of that group she only gave a speech there. her husband was a member for a short time, just like alot of native alaskins, but isn't anymore. just because you talked to a group of people doesn't mean you are part of them.
  24. on the interview last night with Obama on fox they said revenue was up 20 percent over Clinton's term.
