Would You Vote For William Ayers For President?
marks2065 replied to piper17's topic in Speakers Corner
what about the money for college that was given out by Obama under the instruction of Ayers? elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/22/university-of-illinois-to-release-obama sounds like Obama has been involved alot longer and deeper with ayers than he wants to admit. this is beyond poor judgement, this is a very deep relationship and shows he didn't get a little messed up and got out, but is still up to his eyes in it. -
Only if you place a much higher value on mostly white Americans than mostly brown foreigners. what made me wonder is how did that many military persons die with no war? was it because of militant attacks on us? if so why didn't we defend ourselves. was our military that open to attacks because of poor management? granted the numbers aren't in for all of Bush's term but there isn't the large disparity that you would think since we are at war now and weren't under Clinton. I would understand if the numbers were 10000 for bush and 1000 for Clinton, but they're not. I think the numbers show that we are going to loose soldiers wether we are at war or not and a passive military is open to attacks that are just as devistating as taking the war to the bad guys.

Maybe Obama is needed to defend the criminals like he has in the past.

Well, I think that having Palin in office would be a step backwards for women's rights, so I'll help other women by voting for Obama. Not that I believe in hell anyway. Oh, and it's good to see that, while the rest of the country is having a financial crisis, Sarah can still afford to get her daily Starbucks. and you can still skydive even though the rest of the country is having a financial crisis. i guess it's how you look at it.

the point is clinton had 7500 deaths and no war, bush has a lot less than reagan. 7500 deaths and no war? makes you wonder doesn't it ?
-
wow i was shocked. not much difference between the 2 and Clinton wasn't at war. clevelandsearch.com/Military-Deaths.html www.snopes.com/politics/military/deaths.asp i guess clinton years were just as deadly

why would they vote for a bill they didn't wright, like or the people that vote for them wanted? -
Arrant nonsense. The banks did themselves in on account of their greed. you mean the people signing the paper work are not at fault? the comments from clinton are not at fault? Since when did someone signing a mortgage force a bank to package it up in a "securitized" investment instrument, force a rating agency to give it a "AAA", and force an investment bank to buy it? Stop being silly. the problem goes from the top to the bottom. fannie and freddie wanted as many as they could they didn't care if it was AAA or not. they wanted to meet the quota (as said in the video about the exact $ amount for raines' bonus.

It is indeed shocking that in 2004, the date of these videos, the Republicans controlled the White House, the Senate, and the House, and all the congressional committees, yet did nothing about it. Shame on the Republicans. shame on democrats - remember you need 60 votes in the senate and that is were it died. can't believe you won't even believe the video of the dems and raines. is the left that blind? or should i say deaf? What died? Was there a bill, and if so what was it? all the video showed were a bunch of speakers. read this beltwaysnark.com/2008/09/16/john-mccain-supported-a-proposal-for-an-agency-to-oversee-fannie-and-freddiein-2005/ www.govtrack.us/congress/record.xpd?id=109-s20060525-16&bill=s109-190 sorry never got to vote was killed before vote -
take your pick, how many does it take? just Obama trying to get money to acorn is proof that he is involved. you keep teling me to open my eyes maybe i'm not the one with them closed.

Shame on the Republicans. Filibuster???? Never heard of that ?? And yet, even when they are caught on C span video you defend the crooks!!! Not to mention that this started in 1997 AND, then the best part, the two biggest crooks presently work for Obama who is the second largest reciever of political funds from Freddie and Fannie Come on kallend, even YOU can spin your way out of this one it is a shame that the hate for one man, (Bush) can cause very intelegent people to close their eyes and ears to the facts and that they might be wrong or do the wrong thing just to spite their hate. -

McCain builds winning coalition for bailout vote!

if they look at the whole picture it doesn't make their side look good. -

so the people arrested and being tried for registration fraud doesn't mean anything?

So, what was that you said, McCain (Part II)
marks2065 replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
But in this case they are, since (1) there WERE NO WMDs (contrary to what Bush and McCain said). (2) Iraq was not involved in 9/11, contrary to Bush's insinuations. (3) It WASN'T all over quickly. contrary to The Administration's and McCain's statements. (4)They DIDN'T greet our troops with flowers. (5) Sunnis DID fight Shias, contrary to McCain's statements. (6) The cost was many times higher than the Bush Administration told the public it would be. just because mistakes were made doesn't mean it was a mistake. only time will tell the end result. what happens if in the future this actually makes a big change in something because they will be our alli. the end result of the war wont be seen for years but alot of people in iraq are better off now and happier now. the full effects of ww1 & ww2 weren't seen for years after the war and this war is no diiferent -

hey don't look at me , i think polozi fucked up trying to gain a political edge. i think the dem's don't have the guts to step up because of the possible fallout if things go bad, especially if passing the bill sides them with Bush and seperates Bush from the rep party. -
no your right nobody had a gun to their heads, but the presure was pushed from carter, clinton and the pac groups and when it showed profitable they ran with it. but the presure was put on from the top.

i don't know but this sounds like banks were instructed to give out high risk loans because they would be racist or be discriminating if they didn't. there was probably good reason to stay out of those areas because of the risk and now it comes to bite us. maybe if the inner city / low income areas improved themselves and their nieghborhoods they wouldn't have needed this presure on banks and this whole mess wouldn't have happened. maybe if these inner city / low income areas had a little pride and hard work they could have cleaned themselves up, taken better care of the area, thus inviting more buisinesses and more jobs that would have increased the income level and then made eligibility for loans without special incentives from the gov. but then agian why would anyone want to work hard for something when they can get it for cheap or free from the gov by claiming discrimination.

polozi wanted to take credit but if it failed pass the buck to the rep party. pretty shady -
SUBPRIME LOAN is not the same as "LOAN TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLD". Middle class and upper income people were getting subprime loans. THAT is where you are making your mistake. You have provided NO EVIDENCE that targeted loans in low income neighborhoods caused this crisis or even contributed in any substantive way. In fact, all the data you provided proved the exact opposite of what you claim. the subprime loans did open the door and all groups used it to their advantage. remember it is discrimination to give it to only one group. so when it was opened to the low income it was also opened to the rest of the population.
