boy yet another half truth from the left. the disparity is in part because of military spending and retired people which is greater in the south and southwest. people need to read past the first paragragh. NO, you misinterpreted what you read, see highlighted text below. Ummm - I think you PROVED his point. no federal spending would not go down since you would still have retired people and military spending

boy yet another half truth from the left. the disparity is in part because of military spending and retired people which is greater in the south and southwest. people need to read past the first paragragh. this is in the read a little farther down ------------------------------------------------------- One common assumption disproved by Lacy’s analysis is that military spending and the concentration of military bases in the South and West are a factor. After separating military spending from non-defense spending, there was no relationship between defense spending per state and the state’s Electoral College vote. In other words, the amount a state receives in military spending does not significantly affect its voting patterns, and vice versa. In fact, once defense spending was factored out, states that benefit the most from non-defense spending were even more likely to vote Republican. - The difference also does not seem to be attributable to the number of retirees in a state. While this does influence both voting patterns and the flow of Social Security and Medicaid dollars to a state, it does mean that a state is a net beneficiary of federal dollars. Florida, for example, receives more in federal retirement and disability payments than any other state, yet it pays as much in federal taxes as it receives in total benefits.[6] ------------------------------------------------------- so we need to read the whole not just the part that makes your point look good

Why does Obama continue to hide his past?
marks2065 replied to MikeForsythe's topic in Speakers Corner
yep you are correct, some things are ok to keep secret. if Obama had a track record to follow and his radical ties were in his very distant past proving he is not aligned with those people, then i would let him off also. -
yep those asshat dems that took credit are the one that caused the problem. so yep McCain was correct.

I know what it said. just stating that with all McCain has gone through back in Nam that i bet he needed some counceling, and if he wants to keep that private that is ok. he did release his medical records. but i did it with a shot at Obama -
there was a couple investers on the radio last night that said they pulled all their investments when Obam became the nomonie for them dems because they didn't want to losse everything when he became president. maybe they are packed and ready to go. they also said that as Obama's #s grow more of their freinds are pulling their money also. makes you wonder what they know, doesn't it?

Why does Obama continue to hide his past?
marks2065 replied to MikeForsythe's topic in Speakers Corner
When Obama does something(anything) for this country that requires a tough mental workout then he can hide his mental health records, until then i am waiting for something other than a phone call or a present vote from Obama -
well it looks like the liberals are going to be running the white house soon. i think i will be changing to liberal. i am getting tired of working to feed the liberals so maybe i should sit on my ass and let Obama figure out how to feed and clothe me. it seems to work for 20-30% of this country. o shit i can't become liberal because if everyone like me stopped working Obama and his buddies wouldn't have anything to take from us and give to the lazy.

No theories but I have asked several questions that no one has been able to answer. I have questions too - about the economy imploding courtesy of Reagan-Bush Voodoo economics. still can't admit the fact that the dems have their hands all over this mortgage melt down can you? ope your eyes before this country becomes comunist. -
but both of your parents are citizens, not one and you weren't born in the country of the parent that wasn't a citizen. makes a difference. My daughter was born in China of a Russian mother and American father. She is a US citizen (certificate and passport and all...) as much as a person born in Oklahoma of American father and mother. You only need one parent to be a US citizen (with some quotas as to where this parent has lived for how long, etc...) to become a US citizen when born in a foreign country. these restrictions on were Obama's mother was and lived is part of what is under qjeustion
-
Because we all know that if it's on the internet it must be true.. this is a lawsuite against Obama that is in court right now. this is being prosecuted by a democrat.
-
the question here is that Obama had only one parent as a citizen not 2 like McCain So, he should have 2 citizenships - the American and another one from his dad - Kenya. Intersting mixture, makes best folks. no he may or may not have us citizenship depending on the circumstances. the US has regulations concerning 1 citizen parent and doesn't just give the citizenship unless the regulations are met

i was just reading what it says to be a citizen of the us and what the lawsuite against Obama says. if the lawsuite is correct Obama is not a natural born citizen and therefore not eligable for the office of president. i did not start this, file the lawsuite, just commenting on what i am reading. (PS the lawsuite was filed by a democrat not a republican)

no double standard we knew about Bush's arrests and drug use. we don't know about Obama's dealings -
you mean Barrack hussien Obama? imagine that, a president that has a name that sounds like the guy behind 911. You have a name that sounds like the guy who shot John Lennon. but i'm not running for president
-

-
hey i didn't start this. i've known about this website about Obama for months and didn't bring it up. i figured if it was really valid someone would see it through. i'm just talking to what the website says and what is needed to be a citizen of the US. man you lefties are touchy
-
sorry but if you want to be correct with me be correct with yourself. read the rules. just because your mom is a citizen doesn't make you one. read the rules for citizenship.
-
what happens if he was born 2 days earlier in Kenya? then registered in Hawaii? His mom was in kenya within a week of his birth.
-
i don't see abig deal just show he was born in Hawaii and not Kenya and this will all be dropped.
-
Quoteoh man you're on to something.. I mean i'll go start asking all my senior officers for the long form of their birth certs before listening to them. (A Army Officer must be a U.S. Citizen) yes but not a naturalized citizen, there is a difference and this is the requirements to be president
-
one is an actual certification of all the information of birth like date time place country ect. the other only list date and time and hospital registered to. you can be registered at a hospital when coming back into the US. If Obama was actually born in the US his origonal would show this but if he was born outside the US hi origonal would show that also.
-
Woah. That's harsh. As soon as you leave the US, live a while outside, you are no more a US citizen?? Jesus. Now I understand the meaning of "The Land Of the Free" And Obama's mom, as a US citizen - she too would be no citizen any more? As far as I know, she's an American, and Obama's born in Hawaii, which is US, too. No? no you must spend at least 10 years in the US and 5 years after age 14. Obamas mom spent time in Kenya previous to Barrack's birth and there has been no proof he was born here. a couple of his relatives say he was born in Kenya and registered in Hawaii, his father was a Kenya citizen. if this is the case he would not be a natural born citizen
