  1. what about a koala in denmark eating an apple? I'm the 2%
  2. I had the weirdest dream, and dropzone.com was in it. The dream began with me sitting in from of my computer with this site on the screen. Suddenly I have an urge to jump. So I end up doing base jumps of of my chair. Picture a Cessna 206, and doing a sit exit out of it. Well that's what I was doing, except my plane was a floating chair. I would freefall because the floor was gone, and then end up back on my chair, following which I would read the screen and jump again. I must have done it like 10 times. My interpretations 1. I REALLY need to jump 2. I spend way too much time on my computer 3. dz.com has substituted actual skydiving 4. It might be the drugs
  3. I can get a used time-out audible for a great price. Does anyone know if it will fit into the Mindwarp's audible pocket? It's an older version, so I'm not sure how big they are. Thanks

    Irony

Hey, I used to be pretty hot before so noone pointed fingers and laughed (except on my landings). I still make a pretty attractive leper. ps the dealer's Roy. He's awesome.

    Irony

I'm 20. My mom's a doctor, so she's been monitoring it. I had to go to the hospital to get an x-ray of my lungs to make sure it didn't spread. It was sad, noone wanted to come near me, and someone actually pointed a finger at me and made a face.

    Irony

I just found out that my gear is finally all ready for me. Yep, its all in Florida, nice and new and pretty. The dealer even offered to drive it to Sebastian for me, so that I could jump it all this week. Wings even finished the container early because I kept calling and begging them to finish it in time for me to jump it. But instead of jumping in nice warm Florida I'm stuck in my room trying not to scratch the remnants of my body off. You only get chickenpox once in your lifetime, so of course I had to get it 2 days before a trip I've been planning for 4 months! Sorry to keep complaining, but I'm pretty bitter right now.

    Skygods

Thank god I haven encounetered any skygods yet. I found that about 99% of people I've met so far were so down to earth, doesn't matter if they were freefliers or did RW. The 4 way team from my dropzone took 1st place at the nationals, and even they were all nice to me, even before I made any real jumps. I hope it doesn't change. Maybe its cause I'm a girl?

    What a jerk!

What an asshole. I thought that skydiving changes people for the better, its all about being free. I know dzs don't make alot of money from funjumpers, but when all you think about is making money of of tandems, it kind of destroys the essence of skydiving.
  9. Everything will be ok. You can't give up on hoping, one day the clouds will part, and the sun will come out, and you will finally jump. New England weather's kind of similar, I was at the dropzone for 3 months, 4 days a week, and I still only managed to get a handful of jumps because of the wind, so I feel your pain. Cheer up, its almost spring!
  10. At this time I would have been arriving at the dropzone at Sebastian. Instead I am isolated to my room desperately not trying to scratch myself. Life isn't fair. Anyway at least its a good thing that I didn't come down with chickenpox after I got to Florida. That would have cleared out the DZ real quick. Anyhow I got a question. Since I don't want to come back to my DZ and still be on student status, does anyone know if any DZ's do AFF in the winter? Winter has been pretty mild so far, and some DZ's are open, so is there a chance they would let me finish up in march? I only need 3 more jumps.
  11. God must really hate me. For the past 4 months all I could think about was going to FLorida to jump. It was the only thing that I looked forward to. I was supposed to leave on Thursday, except today I found out that I have chikenpox. I can't beleive this is happening to me. I've been crying since last night. This is just plain cruel. I wish I could crawl into a hole and die.

I'm still bored, and if I had a scanner I'd post my own pictures, but since I don't I stole these from a russian skyding site. We russians are definetely strange people
  17. All I can think about is jumping again, which isn't for another week! I can't focus on homework, or friends, or tv, or sleep, or anything else. This is really sad, but I most of my day was spent packing and then repacking my suitcases, twice. Then I decided to rebake my bonehead! After that was over I ended up running around the house in my jumpsuit and helmet. I think my family thinks that I've finally gone mad. You people are my only hope. I need suggestions of what I can do to keep myself sane for the next week. Help!
  18. You might want to try Rigs & Things Paraservice. The address is www.para-service.com. In my experience they have the most competitive prices outthere. You can get a hornet for $930, & a Tempo for $590. they also have great custumer service, Roy is the best. Good luck buying your gear. (Oh also you might also want to got he the enclave, www.enclave.com, go under the skydivingh index, click on gear, and it will show you a list of dealers)
  19. Hi John You jumped at my DZ! Isn't it the best! Who was your TM? The DZ will reopen on April 1st, so if you could probably get through AFF by May. Anyhow, you'll be jumping student gear for AFF, Mantas 210, 260, & 280. Most rigs for rent are pretty large, the smallest you can rent is a PD 190, so thats pretty tame. Also, you are never too old to jump, and 50 isn't even old to begin with. So what are you waiting for, sign up for AFF w/ Dawson, and I'll see you at the DZ. Marianna
  20. PS, if you live around New England you might want to call Hanne from Skydive New England, in Lebanon Maine. She does a great job on her suits. Most people from my DZ ordered their suits from her & love them. She also charges less than most other suit manufacturers, and will get you your suit in less than 3 weeks. Emmie

    Freefall

I'd have to go with Clay on this one. Imagine the best sex you ever had, and then multiply that by ten!
  22. I wish I would have known all this before I bought my suit. I got it before I even had a single AFF jump (which just shows that I have zero patience). To make it worse I got a freefly suit without even knowing what freeflying was. And I took my own measurements. Now I'm stuck with a suit I can't even jump in. I mismeasured the length of my torso, so I can't even arch in the suit. The point of the story is: GET SOMEONE ELSO TO MEASURE YOU!
  23. I recently bought my 1st rig. I got a hornet 170 as a main, its loaded roughly 1:1. I read on another post that people just off student status shouldn't be flying elipticals. Hornets are semi-eliptical, does that mean that I shouldn't jump it right away & rent gigantic student rigs till I have more jumps? Because that would really blow! I heard that Hornets were pretty forgiving, so can anyone that jumps one help me out?
  24. This has nothing to do with skydiving, but I have to post this story cause its just way weird, & I also cause I'm really bored. I live a mile away from a turkey farm. I usually pass it on my morning run. So I'm out running today when I see this huge turkey crossing the road. After it crosses the road it kind of looks around, and crosses back to the other side, then all of the sudden there are like 20 turkeys following the 1st turkey and they all run across the road into the woods. They were making an escape from the farm!

    Sky-bungee?

I was watching this show on the discovery channel about thrill seeking people. They had tons of clips of skydivers. At the end they showed 2 guys doing sky-bungee. They said regular skydiving just got boring, so they came up with this. They get attached to a bungee chord, jump out while holding on to it, then one guy opens the canopy while the other one's still in freefall. When the canopy inflates it creates the whole bungee jump effect. The guys in the clip got hurt when they tried it in terminal velocity, I think one of them broke his back, the oher injured his head. Has anyone else heared of this?
