It was just a reference to a silly post in another thread. I just think they're wise in guarding their recipes, tho I'm getting close. I think the secret is using the right amount of sherry/mirin and reducing it properly in cat broth.

I don't know what's up with the Canadians here lately. They need to ban shovels.

Ya so send them to re-education camps. . . You got it backwards, bro.

. . .and another thing. The Chinese are smart, I still haven't been able to figure out their sauces. They were wise to choose conservatives to promote their message given that the Democrats don't really seem to have a good track record lifting up minorities, just look at the black community. What African Americans lost by aligning with the Democratic Party

That's my point, it's not a matter of opinion. They are an American news source based in New York, not a foreign one. Maybe you're confusing them with their sister company New Tang Dynasty which IS a foreign news organization, based in Canada - so ya, keep that foreign shit out of here if you have a problem with it. Yes, I know you guys have a lot of concerns about American news organizations and their support for Trump, but Epoch seems to be getting singled out because they look like foreigners and engage in different spiritual practices. Do you think TBN and CBN are foreign news sources because they support Israel and orphans facing human rights violations in South Sudan? Where was your concern 3 years ago before Trump or 5, 10, 20 years ago? Are you only now concerned because they're using Trump's platform to raise money to finally be heard and spread their message against anti-religious communists?

I wondered about that too a long while back. There doesn't seem to be any evidence that he bet against the Reds and he still maintains that he never did. Many thought the new commissioner would reinstate him, but he decided against it. Maybe there's some stuff they don't want us to know. And another thing, even if anyone would've taken such a bet, he probably would've been given pretty shitty odds on his money, like 10,000 to win 100.

It isn't? It is for me. Falun Gong in this case has an almost 100% Chinese following. That sounds pretty foreign to me. So what, it's an American news source created by Chinese Americans, they practice any religion they want. One of their biggest messages is the human rights violations of anti-religious assholes against those practicing Falun Gong in China. Why don't you try listening to what I've already said, instead of making me repeat myself.

Yes, I did.

If the "employees" are generally unpaid and their only common principal is their shared faith/denomination, then yes I would consider it to be a highly biased news source. Well that's not what we're talking about, is it?

How many times until something actually meaningful is done about it. Obviously people are making a big deal out of this simply because it's the Patriots, I get it. I just don't really see how this relatively brief video of the Bengals sideline was used to gain an advantage in this particular game. I don't know what kind of camera they were using, but there is no indication that there was any wireless transmission to the coaching staff or anyone else. Personally it would seem that getting away with deliberate holding or pass interference is a form of cheating that has a much higher impact on the game. So give them a 5-15yd penalty or something, lol. This was a third party hired by the Patriots for an ongoing series about a scout, I mean couldn't the scout or a fan or some other guy off the street easily record the sideline with their i-phone? And if you really wanted to decode their signals you may want to get video from the front angle, not their asses. Anyway, I don't think much will be done. Consider Sean Peyton and his cover up of Gregg Williams and the bounty scandal where they were paying players to injury their opponents. This is much more serious in my book, but they practically got a slap on the wrist - Williams even ended up getting promoted to a head coach before going back to defensive coordinator. Yet Pete Rose is still banned from the MLB to this very day for personal gambling.

No, because many of their staffer volunteer or work for very little pay. What they have in common is adhering to Falun Gong, which is a Chinese religious practice. At least IMHO. I'm not sure what any of that has to do with being a foreign news source. Chinese Americans have the right to practice whatever religion they want, just like Mexican Americans practicing Catholicism, or Arab Americans practicing Islam - and they all have the right to start organizations and to promote whatever issues they want. They wouldn't be the first organization calling for justice and the fall of anti-religious commie bastards. Would you consider christian news outlets to be a foreign news source for Israel or Italy/Rome/Vatican?

I'm convinced! Normiss is just a sockpuppet of Mother Theresa's. -
That's what they always say, but some how they pull it off. I was a hater too at one time, but Super Bowl LI made a believer out of me. They started off pretty solid this year, but that could've been because of the weaker schedule. The line hasn't seem to have given Brady much room to do his magic over the last several games - and without Gronk, and the double teaming of Edelman, it's going to be a bit more challenge going forward But we've seen with our own eye what they're capable of and it'd be wise to learn a lesson and never underestimate the Patriots again!

I thought reeducation facilities done away with during the fall of the USSR. I'm not naive enough to think all of them would be. We are talking about Millions of people though. How can this POSSIBLY be put on a back burner? Epoch has been talking about this type of stuff for years, but people just dismiss them because Trump.

Nobody really cares about these divisive issues as much as they care about using them to paint an unflattering picture of the other side. It's all about using whatever you can to make the left look like a bunch of emotional morons and to make the right look like a bunch of heartless assholes, then you decide which one you hate less and pick a side, much like our elections.

Dammit - Fixed That's all you found wrong. You also didn't use the proper sentence structure, and you probably should've swapped the hyphen and coma around. Just like a conservative that doesn't care about anything or anyone, especially the children! -
I was trying to show why it might be good to slow down a bit and how progress isn't always a good thing, and in fact can be counter-intuitive as well. You asked the question, I was just trying to provide a bit of perspective. . . .and I can share your enthusiasm about new exciting technology as well, but I think it should be marketed as such without all the political nonsense.
-
Yes. Exactly. For example: For me Electrical Vehicles with motors that are quiet, yet have 100% torque available from (practically) 0 revs on, do not require fossil fuels (which WILL eventually run out, be it in 10 years, 100 years or 1000 years) and have a myriad of other technical advantages and exciting technologies--are in and of themselves extremely exciting. They are something I would be interested in, NO MATTER if they are urgently needed or if they (by themselves) would make a big dent in climate change or anything else. Why wouldn't ANYONE be excited about progress like that?! Sure, with any new technologies we do need to look if there are downsides that outweigh the benefits and need to make sure we progress in the right way BUT even just emotionally, this is a direction I would want to move in. It's hard for me to truly feel myself into the mindset of someone who would want--by their nature--to stay with the old (and BORING--clearly that is MY word for it) So again: for me, my initial emotional reaction would be to be drawn to the new and the more advanced. I would want to step on the gas pedal. It's where the INTERESTING and FUN stuff is. THEN, after that initial attraction, I will have to use my rational mind to possibly temper that and look at the possible downsides and dangers, if there are any. It seems to me that the initial emotional reaction of a "conservative" that wants to slow down progress is the opposite. At first he will be put off by anything new and any suggestion to change what is currently there. He will naturally want to "step on the brakes". He will be suspicious of any attempt to change the status quo. Only THEN, may he think about it in more depth and consider if there are actually some benefits to SOME kind of change--but SLOWLY! This is a good example of why you might need to slow down a bit. I'm sorry I even mentioned the AGW thing because now this is just going to be another climate change thread. You just picked up the shinny object and ran with it and missed the point that it was that rush for progress that got us into this mess in the first place - hence the progress trap. I'd say it's more about easing off the gas a bit than it is stepping on the brakes, you'd do the same if it was your money. An investor typically isn't going to give you millions for an emotional high. You better have the kinks all worked out or be a good enough salesman to snag them on the FOMO. So maybe look at it from that perspective?
-
Didn't you get the memo? Haste makes waste. There are plenty examples of businesses scaling too quickly for their own good. From a societal perspective it would be referred to as progress traps. A big one people seem to be talking about lately is this concept called AGW, maybe you've heard of it? Edit- There was a documentary awhile back called "Surviving Progress," check it out.

Dude, get off your high horse and stop shoving your beliefs down everyone's throat. If Bill's correct and people can just move inland and be alright, then Brent is also correct - the solution is through economic development around high risk areas, not by selling windmills and discounted EVs in the U.S or standing ankle deep in water shouting at the tide and scaring the living shit out of our kids. -
I was honestly under the impression that she was ill, and that that's why this whole thing was so disturbing. That alarmists were taking advantage of a person suffering from an illness that could make them more susceptible to manipulation, and that the right was making fun of a kid with a developmental disorder. But whatever, I've been known to suffer from being an ass burger as well - it's not so bad.
