Communion in Protestant denominations represents something completely different than Catholic Communion/Eucharist. This is one of primary differences that seperates Protestant and Catholic denominations...it was one of the main reasons that led to the reformation in the first place. In Protestant denominations, it is strictly symbolic. Many Churches have it once every 1 or 2 months...some of the smaller churches may have it more frequently like twice a month and may be followed by some extra festivities where people just mingle, eat and play games...it's like a memorial service...that's all. The bread is bread and the grape juice is grape juice....and we call it such. In Catholicism, Christ is being sacraficed again and again....over and over at the mass. During this mass the priest is basically preparing the sacrafice. After he says the magic words, Christ is physically summonned down to the altar and the bread and wine is physically, and literally changed into the mind, body and soul of Christ. The people then eat him, thus completing the sacrafice.... There are many that will say it is ALL BS. me too, though for me it hasn't seemed to end there...I also know some Catholics that are Athiest in spite of the Catholic Church....or directly related to it's actions somehow....Catholic BS seems to do that sometimes.... On the other hand, I have also heard from some extremely conservative fundamenatlist evangelical Churches that their Catholic "refugees" are the most fruitful Christians... As I said, the original statement was supposed to be tongue in cheek...maybe even slightly sarcastic....I guess the lack of seriousness was too subtle....I think I may have even started taking the comment too seriously myself.... I can let this one go if you can...it's not really even worth explaining it any further anyhow....sorry to waste you're time..... However, as far as reliability and accuracy of these studies, I think this statement from the article earlier in the thread supports the notion of unreliability: I suppose we could discuss this and the reliability of phone surveys further...and also how you get an accurate count of religious in the first place...if you want. As I said, I'm really not concerned with how many religious there are, I think it's meaningless....even if the study said it was going up, I'd still say it's unreliable. Also, even if you could have an accurate reliable study, I think it would say more if it were world-wide. Futher more, if that study still said Religion or Christianity was dropping, it could be argued that it's actually more in-line with scripture: Matthew 7:12-14: 12"So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. I guess you could say it was tounge in cheek... think of my statement like this... All religions can lead to Christ...it was a spin off the common statement "All Religions lead to God" I suppose it would've made more sense if I added a Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

I said that all religions can lead to Trinity...doesn't mean they always do...and I don't know how God works in peoples lives, regardless of their Religion. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...
