Well, actually there was a Santa Claus. It's just that overtime people began to make him what they wanted him to be and not who he actually was... Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

After growing up Catholic, then doing my own thing, then doing the "fashionable" Buddhist thing, then even the Native American Earth Mother thing, I became an Athiest (briefly). It wasn't to long before I realized that I couldn't just not believe in God...It was too evident within me. As I was driving cross country alone (so alone) as a new athiest, I remember thinking to myself that "I'm alone...there is no God...damn man, I gotta stop fuckin' around..." and it occured to me at that moment that my concept of God was completely flawed and at best, utterly inaccurate. Why would I say that I gotta stop fuckin around now that I don't believe in God? I realized that throughout my life I felt I could just do whatever I wanted and God would just clean up the mess (if any) and I could just go on doing my own thing and it would just be alright. Anyways, it took awhile, but after being dragged kicking and screaming I sought to know God. I sought God through the only book that I truely knew to say anything relevant on the subject...I read scripture and when something ridiculous came about, I didn't just say (as always) "that's bullshit, I'm outta here man, screw this." Instead I sought to understand...I sought God with all my heart, and He found me...and I understood. Finally at 27 I began to apply these concepts and obeyed what I was reading, and then I clearly saw the grace of God and the great things that were being revealed in my life. And though that experience was absolutely amazing and exceedingly joyful (even through the trials), becomming a Christian tends to lead to a much more difficult life, contrary to many evangelical Churches that portray Jesus and some sort of utiltarian Jeanie...but even though life is tougher, you're able to deal with it in a joyful manner and with a positive prespective that is beyond ourselves. I believe God will bring you through this, and though your mother says he will punish you, I have faith that he will use this opportunity to display his grace in a way that will give you a new prespective on life and an appreciation of who he really is... ...and you're right, you have to go out and get it! Just remember who to thank.

Understood, but in Christianity anything that denies the diety of Christ would need to rejected because the whole "equation" would fall apart. It would be like allowing faith to be worked into the equations of science. well we all know you are very knowledgable...I was talking in the sense that there are new theories that cause us to question almost everything we already know, and I don't think that's a bad thing for science...it's how it should be. perhaps...I can understand why faith shouldn't be confused with science. It's just when I hear some of the theories and discoveries, it interests me, and it's not too long before I start to correlate them with God...It's just interesting to think about...but I understand that doesn't really mean anything because even if we could detect the Spirit of God, (say "dark" matter for instance) we could probably study it, maybe even understand the principles behind it, but we'll never be able to know it as God. We'll never be able to know God and relate to Him except through faith. I know I'm starting to babble, but I guess my point is that one can have faith and still be a dedicated, true scientist.
