But isn't that how we got into trouble in the first place. I think it's important to sincerely and dilligently strive for the the right one. How would you ever know what the right one is? There have been so many "right one"s. Well, I've never known anyone who could claim to know everything about God or the Bible. The important thing is that we do our best to head in that direction by utilizing every possible resource, just like in any other area of study. Once we take a position and present our case, people can examine the various arguments for themselves. Well, when it comes to things that are difficult to understand like theology, science or medicine, I'm more likely to trust someone who is sincere and dilligent, rather than someone who is indifferent and lazy. Apparently not... ? I spend practically zero time being hung up on who/what Jesus was. I just found it interesting that you had to single out Jesus and call it silly to iron out the details, especially when that is not the general idea. I've had plenty of civil conversations about the diety of Christ with various people from different religions...it's interesting. We had no plroblem living in harmony without compromising our beliefs. Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

I applaud his sentiments, but in practice he was not very good at arithmetic. The bottom line is that we're hosed, and there is not a lot we can do but brace for impact. It was fun while it lasted. You sound like Lewis Black in his recent special filmed here in Detroit - Stark Raving Black. Good stuff, though not his best. You might like the Unitarian Universalists. They're a pretty open-minded religious(?) community, which seems to have a focus on living in harmony with each other and our environment. Atheists, agnostics, and believers are all welcome. I mean that seems great and all, but it just sounds like you'd have to over-compromise and put up with all types of peoples' crap with an insicere shit eating grin on your face all the time... I'd much rather live in harmony and still call eachother out on our bullshit...like Jesus, like family
