I agree, a new license needs to be made, and yes, talk of it is getting a bit tiresome, but it still needs done. There are two problems IMHO: 1. Don't leave it to USPA. Everyone knows how passive they are towards the FAA, and while the FAA hates spaceballs, the USPA will not include them in the test, making some kind of "AD equivalent" impossible. 2. When I go to a new DZ I make it a point to introduce myself to people. I dunno, just the way I am. Most people run up to greet me as soon as they realize I'm an experienced jumper (as soon as they see me put on my rig and jumpsuit). For students and whuffos in general, I've seen people run up to students and say hi, and I've also seen whuffos stand there dumbstruck for 1/2 hour. I guess it just really depends on where you are and who is there. DZ's with stuck up people are NOT cool, no matter how good flyers they are or think they are. Hey everybody, just wanted to let ya know that she made it out of surgery okay, and is responding to basic commands. She's slowly regaining her speech (only lost it as a temporary thing after the surgery). Even though she's still in a bit of pain, we all feel that everything went as planned and she should make a full (but slow) recovery over the next few months. If you ask me, I think these guys have their work cut out for them. Think about all the different aspect of freefly, and how we would need to license all of them. For instance, what if a person rocks head down, but can't sit for his life? What if another guy can sit well, and can half-cartwheel over to head down and vice versa, but can't do any full transitions?? What if someone has good chasing skills but no carving skills?? There are so many aspects of freefly, it would be hard to incorporate everything into licenses, and even if you could, you'd still have that "only for the top flyers" thing going for it. I think that sitfly should be separated from head down. Also, what about tests for backflying, transitions to and from different postions? This stuff needs to be covered too. I was inflated (not totally flying canopy) at 1000 ft. Narrowly missed BIG FUCKING power lines, hit 8 foot tall corn, walked thru 2 corn fields and 1 bean field on the way back. She's had epilepsy her whole life, and wednesday morning she goes in for surgery to have part her her left temporal (spelling?) lobe removed. Though this surgery is done all the time, it's still brain surgery, so it's very risky. We all hope that after this week, her seizures will be a thing of the past, but we need prayers and vibes. Take note I was clearing up that I meant IN NO WAY that she packed it on purpose. In my original post, I was simply trying to state that was, in fact, just a really, REALLY shitty day, and I'm admitting now that I (wrongly) worded that in a way that could have been easily misunderstood. In turn, I'm actually defending her name, not dragging it through the mud. If I wanted to get back at her or something, I could easily have said that she packed it on purpose, and leave it at that. But I didn't, because I know that she didn't and I didn't want everyone else to think that she did. For people at SGC or anywhere to think that would be unfair to her, and worse yet, untruthful to everyone else. It is true that what she did to me was wrong (with us, not the packjob), and yes, I admit, I naturally have bitter feelings. But I have no intention of ruining any image that you believe she has. To ruin her image would be her place, not mine. Frankly, I really just don't care anymore. This issue was dropped before you even got on here, but in respect for you, and for her, I'll clarify this one more time. I hate to say, but I totally agree. It's not a sport. This person, (yes even us guys have hearts) is a human being, with real emotions. We're not toys to be played with, and thrown away. No one should have to prove anything to you, except the fact that they're a good person, and if they haven't done that already, why would you be on a date with them anyway? I'm sorry to burst your bubble sweetie, but no one is perfect, including you. Therefore, you can't expect anyone to be perfect for you. You worry so much about "seeing what makes him worth it". Well, what makes you "worth it" for him? The fact that you're just testing him out? Perhaps that you're so pretty, prim, proper, and perfect? Also, you talk about guys "trying to get in your pants". What if he just truly wants to be close to you? Does that make him a bad guy if he likes you so much he wants to share that with you, or does he just have to prove something first?
