OHHH.... So thats what he meant when he gave me the two finger signal. 'bring your legs in'... My legs were almost all the way out and I was dragging both of them with me. I don't know, thats just what he said... I was also probably not totally arched and unstable..

P.S. After I bought my first Toyota I will never buy another kind of car (till I can afford a BMW M5).

I saw a KIA Sedona parked in a parking lot for 4 months with a huge sign on the side that said: THINKING ABOUT BUYING A KIA SEDONA? THINK AGAIN!!! ASK MY WHY: And then it listed the guys phone number.. I wasn't thinking about buying a car (esp a kia), so I didn't bother to take his number down for you... ;) I think it is safe to say that he was mad that his car was a billboard and he was riding the bus to work... LOL nuff said.

Question 1 - I was a no pull on AFF level 1. (thanks Phil, I owe you a big beer) By the time I figured out that I had lost my cool, froze up like a deer in headlights and totally screwed my 1st jump ever, I realized I had about 8 line twists (instructor said I was tracking when my chute deployed) Survival instinct kicked in immediately and after doing a few kicks I got out of it, did my pattern and landed uneventfully in the DZ right on target. Wow. What a shitty first jump. (some may say that I walked away, so it couldn't have been that bad). Later that afternoon after some serious soul searching I got my nerve back and redid the Jump. (even pulled this time, instructor said it was picture perfect). So for those of you that are considering doing AFF Level 1, just remember that that most important thing you will do is, uh, pull. On every jump I have made, I found the sensation of freefall to be so overwhelming that I had a hard time keeping on task on not admiring the scenery. It really is very pretty the way the ground rushes up at you. My question is this: Has anybody ever jumped on 'Amphetamines' or any other stimulant? I take a fairly high dose for ADHD and I wonder if I am simply overamping my nervous system? I did one jump without them and it seems like I was much more stable and not ready to soil my jumpsuit the whole time... I am getting back into it. Not because I want to. Not because I can afford it. Not because I like driving 50 miles for 50 seconds of pleasure. Not because I relish the idea of doing something that can leave my family with no dad and no insurance money. Because I can't stop thinking about it and there have been lots of wind free days with deep blue skies lately and if I spend much more time looking up my neck will snap. ;) I did 10 minutes in the tunnel at Eloy, Tandem, AFF L1, AFF L1, and AFF L2. I guess I will have to start from scratch huh? Question 2 - Do yall think I will have to do the 8 hour class again? I still know my EPs, Types of Mals, Decision Altitude, Counts, Hand Signals, etc. The class isn't cheap... Thanks, and hope to see yall soon.. P.S. Attached is a picture I took of my T.V. Playing my Video from my 1st jump. Gotta say that Dimitri is a great guy. He lets me do a couple of 360s while we were on the drogue and he even let me drive for a few minutes under canopy.

He probably doesn't care, or he may think it's cool. His level of interaction with the insurance company amounts to practically nothing, and unless you think he is an ass, then he probably won't try to throw you under the bus... I did the same thing. When I jumped my first couple jumps I was at 230LBS ~ eloy az. When I moved to Dallas, I learned my new DZ wont take me over 210. BASTARDS!!! So cut to the rocky balboa scene with me eating right, running up the steps up the capital... Cut back.. I am at 214 now, and I will have to restart my AFF.. I do tell my doc, because if he is informed about what I do, if I come in with a sore neck or a hurt back then he will have a better idea of the stress involved. I know on every jump I have ever done I had a sore neck the next day.. Probably screwing something up, but it is good for the Doc to know how it happened, you know? ...therefore able to better treat me... If I crack a bone in my neck or something on a hard opening, I won't just go in to the doc and say 'uh, I slipped in the bathroom' because he will not look at it with as much concern as 'my slider was screwed up and I went from 120mph to 10mph in about 1 second.' I could never live with myself if I did have a minor fracture in my neck and then lied about it to my doctor and at some later point a minor bump caused me to be paralyzed or something stupid like that...

i have been in one at eloy. A computer called 'physics' slams you into clear plastic walls when you do the wrong thing with your hands or feet. ;) As far as scenery, i think the wire mesh is much more sexy than projected scenery. Besides, once you get out of the plane, nothing compares to that.

A few things about skydiving that need clarification
birdshit replied to denete's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
420 is a reference to weed. At altitude lots of people fart. -
My brother closed a wound I had with superglue. It really works as long as you dont have a lot of bleeding. He was a paramedic in the AF and he said he did it to lots of guys... I said 'Of course you did it to lots of guys. If you weren't so gay you would have joined the Army!'... Bada bing... Shields up

My wife bought me a tandem for my 31st BD. She thought it was 'cool' and she wanted to test my mettle I suppose... The 'intervention' came when I snuck out, called in sick from work bought my own alti and did 3 more jumps without her knowledge. I got busted because I spent about $700.00 in three days... (A Coke problem would have been easier to hide)..
