Democrat-controlled Senate laziest in 20 years
SkyPiggie replied to SkyPiggie's topic in Speakers Corner
Democrat-controlled Senate laziest in 20 years http://washingtonexaminer.com/politics/washington-secrets/2012/04/report-democrat-controlled-senate-laziest-20-years/493996 "Secretary of the Senate Nancy Erickson revealed a slew of data that put the first session of the 112th Senate at the bottom of Senates since 1992 in legislative productivity, an especially damning finding considering that it wasn’t an election year when congressional action is usually lower." -
Pretty much everyone was against that war. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that instead of protesting in front of the White House like everyone else, she actually went to North Vietnam and manned an anti-aircraft gun that shoots down American planes. She didn't just protest to try and stop it through normal American means, she joined with the enemy. THAT is why vets hate Jane Fonda. http://www.google.com/search?q=jane%20fonda%20anti%20aircraft%20gun&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi She's free to express her views her way. And she's also free to suffer the consequences of public opinion from that. You don't get to be a traitor to your country, and then have a right to complain when people hate you for it.

There are much more accessible public areas. Shooting ranges tend to be out of area and many miles away. Hmm. . . Ya think that the driving distance is the only factor there? I didn't realize that mass murderers had such an aversion to long commutes. I had no idea!

Presumably the design would be one where the water pipes from the pool are just circulated through the crematorium exhaust to absorb some heat that's already done it's job of cremation, and that would make it acceptable. If the cremated ashes were to come in contact with the water, that's a big no go. They just need to educate everyone of how it works to make them comfortable with it. What if they're is no one to cremate some days - does that mean a cold pool? I can imagine people making a decision to go swimming or not, based upon how many dead people are being cremated that day, and at what time. And that's still creepy. Maybe they'll keep their previous pool heating method active as backup, to cover things when the crematorium is inactive.

Your eyeballs. They're free! And when you look at the ground with them and the ground looks too close, that'll make you scream in fear. And finally, this is where the audible part comes in - when you hear yourself screaming, pull!

Rig Problems in "Parachutist" Photo?
SkyPiggie replied to SkyPiggie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
August "Parachutist" magazine, page 34. I've blurred out the person's face, because this is not about her, but about the rig she's wearing. Does it look like the metal orange reserve handle is in the pocket backwards, with the square corners facing out, and the rounded edge tucked into the pocket? Or is it supposed to be that way? And how about that long loop of cutaway cable housing sticking way out to the side - isn't that a dangerous snag hazard? -
There's no basis for them to do that. Sometimes I think we should turn away from student training anyone under age 25...

Looking For Best No Dogs, No Kids DZ
SkyPiggie replied to popsjumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Another sign, something like: "Dogs not on leashes will be BBQ'd" might be good. -
Just imagine the creative close-up shots that could be created with this little gizmo. You could mount one on a bridle just under a pilot chute, to capture slow-motion footage of a pilot chute being thrown out into the air and expanding. You could mount one inside the deployment bag to capture images of the canopy being pulled out of the bag. Or mount one under a 3-ring to capture exactly how they release in a cut-away. These could be great for analyzing new parachute equipment designs. Or put one in a watermelon and get a watermelon's-eye view of skydivers chasing after it in freefall.

Love the 'toon! You do a great job of describing the emotions one goes through on a 1st jump. I 2nd the motion to submit your work to "Blue Skies" or "Parachutist" for publication. They'll probably want a short version of a cartoon, like the three or four panel versions in our newspapers. Good luck, and I hope to see more of your work!

It was obvious this person(s) was hiding behind a ficticious SN. Not only did he have only a couple of post and no profile, he only registered a few days earlier. He was also obviously trolling. You may only have 20 post, but you have been registered for almost 10 years, a slight difference. So you're agreeing with him then, that the number of posts had little or nothing to do with it.

My expereince at the Flying V Ranch
SkyPiggie replied to millertime24's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Whatchu got against poor little froggies? Nothing at all. The gun was loaded and they were there. There's hundreds of them in the swoop pond anyway. That doesn't sound to me like a good reason to kill other living things, and to have fun doing it. -

Both. They do help with tracking and other maneuvers, but they also get in the way.

Well, we in this sport have a tradition of pieing someone in the face when they reach a milestone skydive, like their 100th jump. One day, several people were trying to pie a 100-jump person, but that person wasn't cooperating, and was fleeing to escape the pies. The pie-ers pursued. Just when the pie-ers thought they had their victim cornered against a brick wall, the victim made a sudden turn. One of the pie-ers wasn't as agile, didn't turn as quick, and smashed into the brick wall breaking his arm. To my knowledge, this is the only known pieing injury in skydiving history...

I've explained this situation to you before, but you seem to block-out and ignore anything that doesn't suit you. Suit yourself. John is taking care of skydiving and shooting gear from a fun-filled weekend, and he'll probably be back on the computer tomorrow. I, on the other hand, usually only use the computer on weekends. And of course, none of this personal computer usage info has anything at all to do with the subject at hand, so I don't know why you obsess about it. Would you like to restore my Bonfire access rights now? You took those away based upon a wrong hunch and a whim, just like you're proposing here to take away rights from the mentally ill. Maybe that's a hint of the way you would run things if you were king. And it ain't a pretty sight.
-
Perhaps you missed the part where it said that the county attorney was there at the hearing also. If the subject had a record of violence, it was his job to present that info to the judge. Apparently there wasn't any history of violence, and that's why the judge restored the rights. You seem to be making assumptions that something irresponsible took place, without knowing all the facts. That's not the way to carry out justice.
-
Right. It meant everybody . . . except the slaves . . . and indigenous peoples of North America . . . oh . . . and women. Everybody . . . as long as you were a white, male, land owner really . . . You seem to dislike that there were exceptions to rights granted by the Constitution. Yet at the same time you want to carve out your own exception to rights for the mentally ill, no different than what was done to the slaves and Indians. That's inconsistent and illogical of you, dear... Either you're in favor of rights for all, or not. Which is it?

Is this a sign that Mexicans in America give their primary loyalty to Mexico, and therefore would love to see America fall and Mexicans take over, as in the Reconquista movement?
