I should've just copied-and-pasted Nightingale's post, but I hadn't read that far, yet. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Oh, so we opened the door and now we have to let smokers go out and have gay sex on company time?! Where is this gonna end?! Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Plenty of people take a ciggy break several times a day so why shouldn't they have time to pray? Because praying to an invisible man in the sky is stupid and pointless. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

That goes back to what I said about when this country was initially founded, that was pretty much already the established norm, and nobody's applecart was upset by it. It's not like a large majority advocated atheism and a seven-day work week and then a bunch of Christians stormed onto the scene and got their way vis a vis the five-day work week. Yeah, before long the fucking wetbacks will start insisting we all learn Spanish. Oops. Wrong hate thread. Never mind. But accurate nonetheless. Well done.

Quote>pretty much everyone held that as a standard, expected way to run things. Yep. Akin to slavery and women as property. Fortunately we were smart enough to change those things - even though the majority resisted the change for quite some time. I don't want to go inferring things that you don't intend to convey, so I need to ask you: Should your preceding comment be taken to mean that you think we should be changing to accommodate muslims needing to pray while at work? I don't know much about islam, but isn't it typical in muslim countries that people stop and pray numerous times a day? Do we have to accommodate that, too? When the country was founded, pretty much everyone held that as a standard, expected way to run things. It wasn't because some tiny but very vocal (and sometimes very violent) minority dictated it to the rest of everyone else. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

You mean, like, if I went to a place where they DO pray at a certain time, it would be wrong if I went on with doing what I was doing and didn't pray or pause while the rest prayed? So maybe folks who come to this country should not be trying to force a large majority of non-muslims to accept the muslim way of doing things dictating how the rest of us do them? Lately, it seems like muslims expect and demand that everyone drop their way of doing things to cater to the muslim way. They remind me of how in some families, plans get changed drastically because if everyone doesn't do as the spoiled child demands (leave the movie when he gets bored, leave the restaurant when he's full and bored, leave the family gathering when he gets cranky), he's going to throw a tantrum and everyone lives in fear of having to deal with that tantrum. Did I compare muslims to a spoiled child just now? Yeah, I guess I did. A dangerous spoiled child, like that kid Anthony in that creepy Twilight Zone episode. If you want to restrict things that haven't been used in a crime EVER, then where do you start? Barbie Dolls, Legos and chocolate chip cookies? Or, you could apply your brain and look at the item's potential to be used in a crime. People have gotten state bans on .50 cal. (I don't agree with them) even though they have not been used in crimes. (I am not aware of a single one, and if there's been one, there's probably been only one.) So clearly, that would be a case of not bothering to address chocolate chip cookies... MMmmmm... cookies... Wait, where was I? Oh, that would be a case of just what I was talking about -- and you appear to be disigenuously trying to duck your own position. You want no restriction on the model rocket engines because they haven't been used in crimes. That "not yet used in crimes" seems to be your criterion. So when asked about not restricting items until they've been used in crimes, you pointed out that it would be a long list indeed if we went that route. But surely there are things that are currently restricted (like .50 cal.) that are restricted despite not being used in crimes -- just like is reasonable with regard to your toy rocket parts. No problem - show me where a doctor signs off on the ATF form, then. Stop being obtuse. You do know the meaning of RESTRICTION. I think I actually pulled a ban, once, for using almost exactly those words. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

This is a really interesting passage from the website for the North Carolina Rifle and Pistol Association I guess that if we (the right and the left) really want to leave behind the era of institutionalized racism, the left is going to have to relinquish its affinity for gun control laws. They are a vestige, indisputably, of racial discrimination. Leftists who remain in favor of gun control remain in favor of a policy whose roots are the furthest possible thing from "progressive." I have to admit that I am amused by the fact that in order for leftists to support gun control, they have to be what they hate. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Not if it was made before May, 1986 and not registered as a dealer sample. In that case the transfer gets approved by a chief law enforcement officer, the gun gets registered, and transfer tax paid. A quick search reveals plenty of nice, fully functional C&R MGs available to those with enough cash. No FFL needed. So "plenty" that because of the race between supply and demand, you really can't get one for under about ten or fifteen thousand dollars. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Because I ignore your hypocrisy, that's why. You lump the legal gun owners in with the criminals in your petty diatribes. Translation, mnealtx can't answer the question without revealing his own inconsistency. You haven't responded to the question of how you reconcile your objection to government intrusion with your zeal for having our medical privacy rights subject to mandatory surrender in order to get to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights. Oh, so you feel the need to add "(sic)" to people's typos. Did that add something of value to the discussion, or was it just a petty dig with no other purpose than to make you feel big as you made the poster feel small? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

So, those who favor autonomy are being shut down, and in the process, everyone loses their constitutional rights *ahem*... for six hours. A few things I'm waiting to see happen: - the criminals stop carrying their guns - the government lift the martial law order at 6 a.m. as stated All eyes are on Bolivia. ...OK, some eyes are on Bolivia. All right, all right -- Bolivian history majors have their eyes on Bolivia! *sheesh!* Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

They are ALL objectionable, IMO. Then why is it that you clearly object to privacy infringements as you advocate for yet another one, WRT gun purchases? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

By her own admission! But, I think you have the terminology wrong; they prefer to refer to themselves as "nigga." Not "negro." Believe me. I saw two black women and a hispanic one all calling each other "nigga" on line at Walmart last night. Swear. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

I dont know. But this scenario scares the hell out of me Then you've proven that you have irrational fears. The ONLY way Biden drop out is if he drops dead. Why? Former NYC mayor Ed Koch said that Palin "scares the hell out of" him. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

When you can demonstrate that giving away our rights--whether it be right to guns or right to convenience in getting them--stops people getting shot to death, maybe we can parley. My buying a gun, owning a gun, even walking around with that gun in my hand, doesn't come anywhere near your nose. Or are you going to claim that JohnRich or I have tried to claim a right to go around shooting people unprovoked? Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Yes, if kids are not interested in learning, dumb down the learning instead of expecting the normal drive to improve oneself that should be present in all human beings. I'm so sick of this "bring the lesson to the kid" philosophy. I suppose if the kids won't learn with free ice cream sandwiches by the dozen, we should just pump them full of ice cream sandwiches, then? You shouldn't have to bribe kids to learn. Anyone who doesn't want to learn, who doesn't seek out learning, isn't fit to be taught. Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
