  3. Think about how large the sunglass frames are. I jump my factory diver with regular plastic goggles, but I route the goggles bungee on the outsite of the helmet. I dont like the extra bulk between my head and the padding, always creates a pressure point for me. I've made a few jumps wearing my sunglasses but didnt care for it as much. while stuffing the frames into the helmet, the sunglasses didnt want to sit on my nose, like I prefer. IF you plan to wear sunglasses, I'd recommend trying them on first, and finding something with a really thin frame, like gators or similar. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment

  8. Great idea! The Optimum 160 packs up pretty dense. It is a great fit for the Infinity I-3 series of containers. I would not recommend putting the Optimum 176 in this container though, I believe it'll be too big. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  9. I think it would take many cycles to get the handle to actually fail, but it is apparent that the workmanship on the metal insert leaves a little to be desired. I've attached a picture of how we do our inserts for reference. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  10. Hi, How is the metal ripcord cable affixed to the handle? -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  11. Check out the Fusion by Precision Aerodynamics or the Safire2 by Icarus Canopies. I'm sure there are more comparable canopies, but those 2 are the ones I am most familiar with. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  12. Hi Lawrence, I've got an Optimum 160 on its way and plan to pack it into our I-3 series containers. Once it's been packed, I should have a pretty good idea how the 176 will fit. I would assume that I'll have an answer for you within a couple of weeks. -Tony EDIT: Heh, monkycndo beat me to it -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  13. I feel like I'm hijacking your thread here, but as an employee of a gear manufacturer, it's always the goal to promote our product. It's not my intent to spam your thread with advertisements or offer an opinion where it's not asked for, but to offer up alternative solutions to explore. Velocity Sports Equipment makes an Infinity size I-43 that holds a PDR 160 or 176 reserve canopy. The main container is designed to hold a 150 sq ft 9 cell Sabre2 or variant and can easily downsize to a 135. You can check it out here: http://www.velocityrigs.com/products.php?product=infinity If you have any questions, sizing or otherwise, about the Infinity, feel free to give me a call. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  14. A quick phone call to Sunpath would likely clear this issue up and fetch a more educated response. We (Velocity Sports Equipment) have not yet had our hands on the larger size Optimum reserves (they are in transit). Based on the Optimum 143 and smaller, I can tell you this: As far as the Infinity Harness/Container system is concerned, a PD Optimum 143 packs up somewhere between a PD Reserve 113 and PD Reserve 126 and fits nicely into a container built for either. Any hard and fast rule will be written individually by each container manufacturer. All of the manufacturers reserve containers will have a different volume, even if they accept similar sized canopies. Some manufacturers say the Optimum packs 1 size smaller, while some say 2 sizes. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  15. Jesus Terry..... Late night? I think what Terry was TRYING to say, is that parapak will slide more easily on your back than cordura. This is a personal preference, some people like the rig to stay more planted while other prefer it to glide a little easier, while moving around. The mesh will have similar properties to the cordura, but from the reports we have gotten, the mesh seems to breathe better for those jumpers in warmer climates. I've also had reports of people appreciating the small hole mesh over spacer foam, in that it doesnt seem to pick up debris as easily if you pack outside. I've attached a picture of the mesh along side the spacer foam. To answer your question, I've got a rig in construction right now, my last rig was cordura and the new rig will be mesh. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  16. Hey Paul, As BUBLEHEAD (sp?) said, the kill line PC is collapsible. Our standard is a 28" Zero-P PC. On page 2 of the order form (its in the fine print in the top right corner and easy to overlook) it gives a list of what comes standard with the Infinity container. Order Form: http://www.velocityrigs.com/order_form/infinity.pdf If you have ANY questions what-so-ever, dont hesitate to give me a call at the shop. It's often very difficult to give advice towards appropriate gear over the internet, but if you call in, I can ask some questions along the way and we might get you off to a good start. 17. The charcoal / yellow / and black rig pasted all over our website has a 175 main in it. Add 1/2" in length to the main container and you've got a 190 sized rig
  18. I generally ship rigs in a 20x14x8 box. They weigh in about 23-25 lbs packed with AAD. Also, dont forget insurance. I typically insure complete systems from $5000-$6000 which tends to add up. Hope this helps -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  19. A couple of idea's you might think about. 1) Picking embroidery stitches are the WORST. You'll get the embroidery picked apart until the stage that it's completely frayed, and then you'll wish you never started the project. I'd recommend this be your last option. If you're really set on this method, snips and needle nose pliers will work well. 2) I've seen people use a fabric marker to color the embroidery threads the same color as the rig. I've seen them in embroidery supply catalogs but I dont have much experience with them. 3) Call UPT and see if it is an option to have a mudflap sent to you. If they will, then you can have your rigger change it out, and you likely wont suffer much in the looks department. This will be your best option other than sending the rig in to the manufacturer. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment

  21. Nobody's brought this up yet, but if you purchase a used harness/container, you can generally send it back to the manufacturer and have it resized to fit you correctly. Find a container that fits the size canopies that you are interested in. If the harness happens to fit you, then sweet!, if not, have it resized. I cant comment on the cost of having other rigs resized, but if you find yourself with a used Infinity, it will run somewhere in the $200-$300 price range to have the harness sized to your body. It's always a compromise. You can buy new, but it generally costs more and you have to wait, but you get exactly what you want. Or you can buy used, save some money, get it within a week, and it will have most of the features/colors that you want. Good Luck!
  22. Not me! The jumper is tiny and jumps around a 68 sq ft main. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
  23. Now I'm wondering what that packs like. It packs up reasonably small -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
