  1. But Mel Gibson has been Americanized for a long time now. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  2. +1 It will put head up and will help with potato chipping. Arching with the COG at ur back can bring you a little head low. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!

    Baumgarter

Anyone have any idea as to the prevention methods of minute amounts of moisture flash freezing once at the exit alti? If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  4. About a year ago I jumped with a european guy (forgot the name) on vacation and he lost his rental car key in freefall at SDH. He had to get the rental company to come and exchange for another car, and it was a hefty charge. The next day they had a jumper land off by the golf course behind the club house and she walked up to the crowd and said she landed right next to someones keys. It ended being the europeans key. We were speakless to say the least. It was pure luck, but he had already forked out the money for the replacement rental. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  5. Finally you see the logic. Right to bare arms is finally logical. Who would have thought? Interesting how you put the two together, since they fall in the same category and all. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  6. This is a video with me and a buddy I filmed last weekend. I got hit hard enough to get knocked out. Judging from the beginning of the jump, that floating bastard wouldn't have been able to save me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MT_7dAZN_U If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  7. I'd say well over 80% of the jumpers I jump with (small dz in Louisiana) jumps with no AAD. So, If one gets knocked out, try to save him only if there is sufficent altitude other than that hes on his own. Sucks but a choice we all make for various reasons. Skydiving isn't a carnival ride, you must save your own arse. If it was safe everybody would do it. If one of us gets close to smashing into another or does in fact smash into us with noone harmed, we sternly remind him of the possible outcomes that could have happened due to us not wearing an AADs then say its not a big deal and go have some more fun and learn from it. Although it would be a hell of thing to watch your friend go in. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  8. Can you say a judge who is bought and paid for by BIG OIL.. and is HEAVILY invested in oil stocks made the decision.... MMMMKKKK Amazing who is doing all the bending over for OIL and other big corporations around here You think it could possibly be due to all the coastal employees out of work for 6 months? So quick to judge. The current mess we have coild ruin the ecology and 10's of thousads of jobs for > a decade. If drilling continues b4 we get a handle on what happened and it repeats, this could virtually last a century and be so catastrophic that it alters mankind as we know it, not to mention the marine life. 6 months won't fix the problem, name one thing the Government can do in six months. They have been drilling in the Gulf for decades with no significent problem as the one now. The odds are so high that nothing will happen in that time period that is does not justify the hit on our local and national industries it is effecting. The best would be to assess the problem then fix it while still allowing to drill. The reason I am saying this is because nothing will get done in six months before the drilling will start again anyways. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  9. :13:2 Some freefly zoo dives, 14-way RW, SCR jump for two maggots, First Skyvan Jumps, 2 wingsuit jumps (first one was my 1st wingsuit dock), and 1 H&P If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  10. ....your waiting to leave work at noon to head out ot a boogie. Going to Skydive Houston for the Heatwave Boogie.
  11. 2200' foot lose under a slow speed mal (compared to a bag lock and such)....lucky you pulled high. Deploying at 5000 feet does not mean in the saddle by 5000 feet. Yeah I know just a little devils advocate. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  12. Oh I don't know......maybe beacause it is dark, but I could be wrong. Technique should not change much, but the visual warning signs can change such as: If the body of water is flowing: Which direction? Or there stumps or fallen trees? Are you about to land on a 15' alligator? Is the water 12" deep or is the bottom to far down do see? There are more, but these might be a tad harder to see at night because of the whole darkness thingy. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  13. Very cool... I will hit my 17th skybirthday this month. Gotta look up my profile on the other site to find out which day. You were probably in kindergarten or something then. I was actually in kindergarten at that time... If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!

    Movie Scene

I just watched the begining of "Toy Soldiers". Anyone know who performed the skydiving scene out of the helicopter? I noticed the hidden rig under the priest's robe as he was thrown from the helicopter. Just wondering if anyone knew. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  16. and i would not.. +1 Kelly, great rig, no need to add a skyhook. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  17. I started with an infinity and love it. I also bought a used 98' Javelin a while back and also love it. My infinity does not fit me as well as the Javelin (Both were not made custom to my fit), so besides that they are both comfortable realiable rigs. The Javelin seems to be my favorite though. It seems to be constructed better, has articulated MLW and the reserve flap allows for a better fit of my slider stow system. I recommend if your buying new go with the cheaper faster Infinity and if your buying used find a good deal on either. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  18. No slider bumpers, or are they out of frame? Just an observation, always a good idea to have them. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!

  21. I felt like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn't screw to save its species. I wanted to open the dump valves on oil tankers and smother all the French beaches I'd never see. I wanted to breathe smoke. ................................................ Another Movie: "-My hat is deep and full of magic. I got rabbits, handkerchiefs, and ladies of the pole drinking Black Label. I got smoke machines, bubble machines, I even got love marines, and still the hat goes deeper. All right? But there AIN'T no mothafuckin' dry ice. -Okay. You made your point. But tomorrow, might be quite nice to have some dry ice." "If a slap don't work, you cut 'em or you pay 'em, but you keep your receipts, cos this ain't the Mafia." If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  22. No takers on this one? I don't know for sure, but it sounds like its from "Brubaker"(I probably butchered the title) with Robert Redford? If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room!
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MlYQI9Sp9w Looks like ya hosed the tandem, were they still climbing? the look on the students face is why I love filming students...total "What The Fuck"? he sees a trash bag and an open door, niether make sense! Yeah I exited at about 3500', so they were still climbing. I love the look on a tandems face on hop n pops, especially out of a cessna since there so close to the door. There was also another student right behind me.
