HUMAN FLIGHT
-
WOW that's totally amazing...BUT will make a nice target for all "in-the-know" post-apocalyptic movers & shakers
-
I was raised Christian and one of the main things that drove me away from it was that all the nicest and best human beings I knew were not Christian and thus were apparently going to Hell, while all the biggest assholes and selfish pricks I knew were Christian and supposedly going to Heaven. It's all total B.S.

anyone else think $15/month is a tad steep? I'd pay maybe $10, but $15 is just getting greedy... good luck to them

I just bought a new rig so for me it's going uphill.

Alti2 Galaxy - small hands?

your only option is to immediately send me $85 cash. I'm sorry but it is your only option. -
If your thought process has been so corrupted and taken control of by a philosophical system, you no longer are allowed to have an opinion. These people cannot be argued with because their thought system has a pre-ordained answer for every argument that can be adapted to any scenario. It eliminates the need for thought completely as you can suddenly plug any of life's questions into your handy little paradigm. This condition effects those who subscribe to a particular religious or political belief. Don't bother trying to ask a question of a Christian, a Communist, a Libertarian, etc. If you read books you should already know your answer before you ask it.

WTF?? This story scares me a great deal :(

skydiving is very dangerous. you will probably break something and you might die, but it is totally worth it! deploying a parachute is an important part of any dive flow. if you are unconcious then you won't even be scared when you die so don't worry about getting tangled in your reserve!

Coach Jumps Now Required Until 'A' License
deltron80 replied to ridestrong's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
this should make all the people with 10 jumps who think jumping solo is boring happy. -
Just write like you are talking to someone...it sounds more natural. Don't use cliches. Don't use "I" too much. Say things as succinctly as possible, but if you find yourself writing a complicated or long sentance, make the next one short and to the point. It's good for contrast and reading flow. Like this. Don't forget to proof read and omit extra chaff.

nope...it's just what I prefer @ the moment..I can get women, it's just not worth it to me..the last couple were unsolicited

Billvon, Yeah, jsut what I need...another "girl" who is a "friend". I love my friends, they mean the world to me. I care about them for they have always been there for me. And I have many, and am very greatful. But...now...I'm kind of down and well....I would realy like to have a partner. And no, I personally do not believe in friends with benefits. Friends are friends, benefits are benefits. So.....no I think you girls are great. I love you all. BUT you do make life for us guys a bit harsh. You say one thing and do another. You will act first and think later. You will.....just make us guys go batty. But what can you do right? Go celibate? Works for me!!

Funny you should mention moving as I am currently moving out of my nice apartment and into a cheaper tiny room since I'm not dating any more. No need to 'impress' the ladies with my 'place.' What a crock of shit that is. I did get a mirage rig just in case I ever decide I want to start dating again.

women are selfish bitches! that's why i just skydive instead of dealing with their b/s

Things I want in a girl: Someone who will shut the hell up and leave me alone

Has anyone ever tried to create a mechanism that sets off an audible alarm if another object approaches you within a certain distance (other than the ground). If we had an audible alert that went off when we came within ~100 feet of another parachute, do you think it would help to avert canopy collisions? I assume airplanes already have this and there is some good reason parachutists don't (would it have to involve radar?). Or, perhaps if everyone were equipped with GPS all jumpers on a load could be tracked by position that way? Nevermind the fact that this would innevitably result in other safety issues including people no longer watching for canopy traffic on their own... First and foremost people should have their head on a swivel and avoid traffic on their own, but could it be used as a last resort?

Did you really think you were going to get anything more than a professors assigned reading list? I voted for Bonzo Reagan too. I think it was because of all the bad movies and I felt sorry for him...I don't remember exactly why. How is that a professor's reading list? lol It's just a list of some of the greatest political minds of the 20th century! Sorry there aren't more Presidents & CEO's on there for you to agree with. As a paragon of the right, who are some of your political heroes?
-
Why don't you enlighten us with some examples? Some of my personal/political heroes: -Kurt Vonnegut -Martin Luther King Jr -Bayard Rustin -Eugene Debs -Emma Goldman -Noam Chomsky -Howard Zinn -Hannah Arendt -Gandhi I know a lot of them are authors, so sorry about that. I guess smart people write books sometimes.
-
This cult of Reagan is so funny.. The left does have heroes.. Problem is you have to read books to know about them. edited to note: funny how most right-wingers' political heroes are men in high places who obviously aren't looking out for their interests whereas the heros of the left were moreso leaders of the common man...food for thought

Interesting article on the origins of the holiday...apparently it wasn't just made up by Hallmark! http://www.npr.org/2011/02/13/133693152/the-dark-origins-of-valentines-day?ft=1&f=1001 "From February 13 to 15, the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. The men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain."
