I've been doing this for several years now, for "services", i.e. any contractor who does more than $600 of packing/instructing for me gets a 1099. I've never thought to 1099 my phone providers etc...I just keep those bills and deduct them as business expenses. 1099ing EVERYONE would be an administrative nightmare, and I doubt it was intended, if it's even required. Please point out where I said anything related to the 2012 election will be Bush's fault. Someone made a comment about a presidential response to a terrorist attack on our soil. The response of the last president to the last such attack is certainly a fair point of discussion. I agree with most of this. The 1994 split government was good for everyone. The (R) government of 2000 became a blank check, as has the (D) government of 2008. I don't think either party is actually interested in smaller government and less spending, as that limits their ability to buy votes, but at least they can each balance the other out a little now, and both can blame all the bad on the other guys. People talk about the negativity in individual elections, but the overall temper of the government follows the same pattern. The constant changing of the guard from D to R and back again isn't so much due to one party doing well, as simply being patient while the electorate gets sick of the current leadership. I absolutely support Sarah Palin being the Republican nominee in 2012. She'll win the moron vote for sure. Blues, Dave Same with the Iowa SC They can say an Iowa Law is not constitutional as they did with the marriage statue but, they can not state any in the Iowa Constitution is unconstitutional The US SC can though, I think This is the first suggestion I've heard that the Iowa supreme court stated the Iowa Constitution is unconstitutional. Where did this originate? I'm having a lot of difficulty following your argument. And yes, I believe the US SC can find the Iowa constitution to be contrary to the US constitution. The definition of marriage is in the same state now that it was before the unconstitutional law was enacted. The court did not define marriage, they simply told the legislators that they would need to amend the constitution in order to enact a law that runs contrary to current equal protection provisions. IF there's not major gaffe by Obama, I suspect the GOP may find itself another Ross Perot, perhaps this time going by the name Gingrich or Palin. They'll keep the House, but lose a little traction, and the Senate will split evenly give or take a couple seats in either direction. The Presidential election will be close, but I expect we'll see another four years of Obama. IF Congress has finally gotten the message of the last 10 or so years, well then I'm optimistic about 2012. Of course this interface has no font big enough to portray those two IF's. I think the last guy or two had the same thing happen. So I'm not throwing rocks just yet. A pull back from absolute power is a good thing - less abuse, less arrogance might work to the good (we can hope). Give me a split party government any day. All of this. The statements thus far from the (D)s have been perfectly predictable per the last 20 years and spanning both sides of the aisle. I wasn't expecting the whole "second chance" thing from the (R)s, so I'm not sure what to make of that yet. A nice sentiment, but likely insincere given the source (politicians).
