good thing to learn for safety of yourself and others in the jump, Plan the jump, jump the plan. this way you know exactly what everyone will be doing on the jump and where they will be in the sky, you will know which way to actually track on break off and which way they will know where to expect you to go. at your skill level doing a track to get away from someone and then do a track to get back to someone is very dangerous, tracking is a life saving skill not an RW maneuver. you might start off "4'" below your instructor but then your track might be really flat and you end up 30' above your instructor and you decide that you can do head down to get to him, hit him, nock him out, break his back, kill him, all this is possible. remember, just b/c you are relative doesnt mean you arent flying through the sky in excess of 120mph. just wait a few more jumps, you will have your time to do solo jumps where all you do is a track or all you do is barrell rolls or flips or whatever floats your boat, please be safe out there and have a good time. Patience is a virtue in skydiving, it keeps you safe and makes you a better flyer. i hope htis answers your question of "why not?" btw, that was just 1 possible thing that can happen, there are many more that no-one could even think of. alright so i was watching porn tonight that i just downloaded, about 38min 07sec into it pops up a skydiving scene. doesnt look like a DZ, but it looks like a DZ's plane, and i dont know who the diver was, i dont think she was the actual "star" b/c the girl who appeared in the same clothes as her was completely different :P. so who knows who the jumper was? and if ya dont wanna say, ellwell. good video anyways ;) EDIT: reviewed the movie some more and the plane is clearly from SD Taft. whoever did the jump is a pretty girl though ;). the little i know about container fit goes as this, ive rented to small and it sucked b/c it was hard to get to the PC, ive rented to big and it sucked b/c i kept getting hit in the face by the chest strap, i just got my new rig in and it fits perfectly, and its a dream to fly and so very comfortable. there is probably more to it then just comfort but thats my little tid bit of information from an up and coming jumper. try this, it helped me. as your diving down use the 50/50 rule, get half way there, slow down, then keep diving towards them, get half way to where you were, then keep doing that, the last 15 feet or so you should have the fall rate dialed in so that you can gracefully dock with them, if you can get there on a weekend when they have excel going on, Mel, Julia, Lou, and everyone else that does the excel program are kick ass coaches and can help you out a lot.
