Oh... and i didn't get spanked Not sure why i would either

I've done a few jumps in shorts / cargo pants and a sweater / fleece (tucked in). Sometimes to help with sit, sometimes just to fall faster and keep up with the others and sometimes cos it's nice and cool. I jumped in my shorts today. During a sweaty day on the pack mat it felt like i'd just been for a swim afterwards

I bought one of the Aviators off ebay too and am pleased with it. A nice cheap alternative to some of the other helmets out there and real comfy too. The "paint blemishes" were pretty much unnoticable on mine too. There was a bit of rubbery glue excess coming out under part of the liner but hardly anything. $150 was an absolute bargain.

It's like going to a desert island retreat and taking a laptop. If i misjudge the jump so badly that i land off-off then i deserve the walk and it'd probably be fun anyway. At our DZ, if u land so far off you need a phone, a compass, ID etc. you are either flattened against craggy mountainside or drowning in a very deep, very cold lake.

"All things being equal, the simplest answer is usually the right one" To me, judging by only the known facts (Not really that much!) the likely answer to what happened definitely points to deception by someone or other and i think that anything that brings that to the public eye, even if only to consider it as one possible view on what happened, is good. Even if they do get a bit carried away!

Does it assume that the file with the highest seeders is the best one though. That's not always the case qualitywise. Have you ended up with any of those domplayer .rars or .zips? How annoying are they!

Do you mean stand-up comedian? I think most comedians are intelligent. What made you ask?

awesome film, very interesting. The majority of people will dismiss it without watching it though. Noone likes to be told that what they believe is BS. Highly recommend everyone watches this movie.

How come they cost so much more than Bonehead? Are they that much better? Is it just to do with the amount of units sold? I've tried them both on and the cookie was possibly more comfy but i don't know if it was four hundred bucks more comfy.

What an awesome idea! I'd earn twice as much money Imagine having a three-out... Awesome...

I will probably wait until around jump 100 before i try it too, i don't know how distracting it'll be until i try it and it's better to be safe than sorry. But i'm still keen on giving it a go at some point. From what i've read about noise-cancelling, i am expecting to be able to have the music at a lower level (possibly at a level that i can listen to in the plane and under canopy but maybe too quiet to hear in freefall) and that the dytter bleeps will be beyond it's sound dampening range and so (mostly) unaffected. But it's all theory until someone tries it out. Anyone? As for listening to the PIC though, there is a sheet of perspex in our plane that takes care of that! He can talk to one person via PTT but other than that, communication consists of fist thuds, over-the-shoulder disjointed sign language and shouting mostly mis-interpreted messages through a little slot! BTW, nice touch with the champers but don't you do the undy hundy over there?

Thanks for the responses. I didn't think the idea would go down too well To answer a few questions though; What originally made me think of using headphones was that a lot of guys i know wear ear plugs to help cut down on repeated exposure to wind noise affecting their hearing, which seems sensible enough. I thought, well if ur gonna wear ear plugs then why not use ear phones and have something to listen to in the plane and possibly in freefall. The particular ones i was thinking of are in-ear type so the fitment wouldn't be a problem. The noise cancelling doesn't actually make you deaf to the world but cuts down noise (like in freefall). I think you'd still be able to hear your canopy as long as the music wasn't blaring. I snowboard a lot with music and don't really feel that it distracts me but find it relaxing. As for being allowed at nzone, well, i'm not sure until i try but i've asked the instructors about it and one of them wears headphones himself while jumping. Out of interest how many of you guys have jumped with earphones?

Hey, just wondering how many of you guys n gals jump with music? I'm considering investing in some in-ear noise cancelling headphones. Any of you guys tried them out already? Not sure how effective they'd be at reducing wind noise. Apparently they only cut out certain frequencies so they should be fine with a dytter. What do you think?

Find and read some books on sport psychology. Learning about, your ideal performance state, using visualisation and positive thought is the best way to get the mosst out of your jumps and will help you with your fitness routine as well. Yoga looks to be ideal for skydiving too. Strengthening, stretching and bodily awareness training. Personally though, the only exercise i do is packing loads of tandem rigs every day! And the only visualisation i do involves chicks.

I agree with you totally that using the search tool is an awesome way to access a massive amount of helpful and useful info. and is well worth randomly searching through even when you don't necessarily have a specific question that needs answering, even just as a learning tool. I was just saying that a lot of the time (not all the time) someone will post a, maybe fairly basic, question and almost immediately a post will appear that is written in a kind of "i'm sick of hearing that question" way.

Whenever someone asks a question that has been asked before on the forums you get a tonne of people, usually long-time users and / or moderators telling them to search the forums before asking their question. This annoys me. If someone asks a question you don't want to answer / you've answered before / someone else has answered before, you can easily just not reply. There will be plenty of others, new or otherwise willing to answer. People who themselves haven't seen the old threads either. True, anyone can search for old threads and maybe get the answers they need but a lot of the old stuff is exactly that, out-of-date. It doesn't hurt to bring up an old topic and get a fresh answer. It can only be expected because new people are naturally gonna want to ask the same questions the oldies did when they started out. Some of the posts you read from the oldies can sound discouraging and probably put a good deal of people off using the forums.

Just sort of roll over like you would in bed, de-arch, relax and keep an eye on your alti. To recover, arch and if you don't flip over automatically, do the roll thing again. Oh, and i guess i'm a very naughty boy having enjoyed solo / 2-way / 3-way sitfly, solo / 2-way / 3-way Head-down, a couple of horny gorillas, tracking jumps (up to 5 people) and a hybrid at 49 jumps.
