  1. I'm not from Australia, but I eat at the Outback Steakhouse, drink Fosters on occassion and watch Croccodile Hunter during commercials. Does that count?
  2. I'd have to see them without the bikini top.
  3. Yow. Was everyone alright? (besides the deer, I mean)
  4. Get ahold of the Secret Service and offer discounted lift tickets to the Prez and company! Imagine the media circus! Plus, you'll be the only one in the area flying!

    Cutaway!

Pack 100 tandems a week @ $10 each and you're making $50k a year. That's not too bad. Spend three or four days packing full-time and you'll probably pull in more than a lot of people who bust ass 60 hours a week at a job they hate.
  6. Help! I've got two choices for Columbus weekend- Raeford or St. George. Both are on my way home from West Point. Ohhh- the tough choices in life!

    Job Poll

    A) [sorta]. The money's good and the company leaves me alone to do my own thing. I only hear from my boss when it's time for a new assignment. It's lots of time on the road by myself. That's not such a bad thing since I'm not really a people person- if you wonder why just take your new stick-shift down to the local mall and stall it at a 4-way stop (twice). Bunch of aholes. I see the horn blows, how about the driver? BUT- I do get to hit lots of different DZs and meet hundreds of great people.
  8. Not a damn thing. I'm friggin stuck in NE Tennesee cuz no one else here at site knows the DCS system and tools. Smoky Mtns is about as far as I'm confortable extending my leash, but the damn hurricane blew in this weekend. So it's probably whisky, radio, maybe some TV and thinking about travel arrangements for my next job.

    KaChink!

How long have you been with the company? Was the return of the signing bonus stated in your employment contract with the company? If they want you to stay for a while longer, maybe it's time to have a full-out dead on "I'm leaving because you guys are dicks." Maybe you can come to an agreement for a while longer- at least until the end of your 'bonus return' option.

Maybe you'll find that part-time packing is more lucrative than full-time hotel management. Just don't leave a paper-trail for the IRS.
  11. Dang- that's too far out of my way. I have to transition to West Point, VA the following week and it's an extra 300 miles to drive.
  12. Which boogie at Chester are you referring to?
  13. Sample packs are great: Sam Adams, Pete's, Harpoon, etc. You get 3 or four beers of each type for about $12. Bavaria is a good light beer. Not watered down, not skunky and up there with Rolling Rock or Heiniken. I see it on sale a lot for $8 a 12-pack. Once you get your beer legs, move up to Boilermakers! Watch out- Muhahahahahah!
  14. Here's another interesting fact- the artery that supplies blood to the woody comes almost directly from the brain. So I guess there is some factual reason why us men get so stupid when we're looking for action.
  15. Personally, I could care less about either type. I believe in leaving people alone to live their lives as long as it doesn't impact me.
  16. Quite simple. Gay bathhouses are frequented by gay men, a 'protected minority.' Swingers clubs are frequented by middle-aged white couples, or 'fair game.' To go after the gay bathhouses in the same manner would be a political nightmare for the police chief, mayor, govenor, etc etc. As far as that 'spread of AIDS bit' (and this is just my opinion) but I would think that a swinging couple would be more likely to use protection to prevent the possibility of infecting their spouse. On another note, I find it even more amusing that Nevada is the only state where whore houses are still legal but the swingers clubs are not. Here's another 'selective sitatuon' I remember back when I was in Erie, PA which was trying to shut down the titty bars in the city. At one of these clubs a dancer was being accosted by a patron, who was thrown out. After her shift, the dancer was leaving out the back where the same guy was waiting for her in the alley. By the time the police arrived, she had pretty much pounded him into the pavement (described by the cops as a 'semi-conscious' state). Pretty much anyone would have said 'good for her.' But given the current political motivation for the city, she ended up in county for aggravated assault because she "went to far in her own defense."
  17. Why yes, I was aware I was sporting a woody. How did you know?
  18. It's warm in here but she must FREEZIN!
  19. So, I get an email yesterday telling me I'm registered for some training class in Madison WI October 28 to Nov 1. That puts me in the vicinity of Chicago for the Halloween weekend. USPA calendar is pretty thin this year. Who's got the inside info? Do I fly back south or stick around for the weekend? I won't be dressed up, but I'll be the whuffo lookin guy hanging from the ceiling.
  20. Since the pub has been 'updated' I can't find the link for the DZchat. Has it been moved somewhere?
  21. Which is better- the XBox, PS2, or Gamecube? I was out today and considered buying one to travel with.

    Insurance

Sorry- your agent is a weasel. I work with guys who go tear-assing down mountainbike trails with just a bike helmet and that's not suicide? How about driving down the connector in Atlanta going 80 during rush-hour? I left the office at 2pm one Friday to go to the DZ and I was afraid for my life. Send him the fatality statistics and ask his opinion again.

IMHO- that is a sleezy corporate cop-out. How is skydiving suicide? Did you pull your main and have a mal? Did your AAD misfire? Did someone cork under you? Those are one thing, but tracking a delta into the packing tent could probably be argued as suicide.
  24. The Spec V looks and sounds like a great car. I've considered it, but the sticker price is about $18k. I'll probably give them a few years to get the bugs out of the design and then consider it again. I'm lokking at an '00 Altima with a stick today- I even like the color.
  25. Unfortunately, yes. Mine was to the point were I didn't feel comfortable driving it and it wouldn't have made the trip back from TN to Atlanta. Man, this sucks. Minor bend damage to the front adge of the hood and the bumper. Probably would have been fine if it was a regular car- those SUVs sit up so damn high the hood slipped under the bumper. Maybe I'll just buy this car from National instead.
