Motorcycle ?? (Pipes & Fuel Injection Module) Misc. Questions)
Sebazz1 replied to Sebazz1's topic in The Bonfire
Duece, your bike kicks ass no doubt about it! As does mine! Actually I am starting to appreciate all bikes for their uniqueness. They are all fun to ride. Even those 50cc momos that folks zip around on at the DZ. I think that new Buell street fighter bike looks like a lot of fun. Anyway, Another Harley Question: Hey if fork braces add so much stability and added performance why don't they just come stock? I am thinking about getting braces too now... For the added performance and cornering stability of course. -

Motorcycle ?? (Pipes & Fuel Injection Module) Misc. Questions)
Sebazz1 replied to Sebazz1's topic in The Bonfire
Is it really bad to run my bike with my after market pipes without the fuel injection module? I got the Vance Hines HS PRO 2 into 1 pipes. I am looking at the dyno jet power commander on-line right now (recomended by Vance Hines). I already have the new pipes on and they definately kick ass but I have concerns about whether it's bad for the engine or not to cruise around right now? Thank you for any advice... Gareth? -
If you start the bike it has to be a minimum 1 hour ride. Tell her it's the law!

-
Yup I have a partner taking me and some other paralegal's out to lunch shortly. I have a strong feeling there will be some beer drinking going on thus diminishing 100% of any motivation I might have had. How much have I actually accomplished today you ask? Jack SQUAT!!
-
I'd love to but I'll be in Santa Rosa. How far is that from Lodi? I think a wee bit too far.
-
I am struggling with serious lack of motivation... I know I'm not the only one suffering from this malady. All the lawyers and staff are millin about yackin and slackin, why did anyone even bother coming to work!? argg... Make the time mooooove! I wanna drink that jug of tide house christmas brew in my fridge!

Little David was in his 5th grade class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up -- fireman, policeman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, etc. David was being uncharacteristically quiet and so he teacher asked him about his father. "My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men. Sometimes, if the offer's really good, he'll go out to the alley with some guy and make love with him for money." The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and took little David aside to ask him, "Is that really true about your father?" "No," said David, "He works for the Bush administration, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids."

I am but a little motorcycle baby... Thanks for some good informational posts. I never knew about the PowerComander. Don't know how much I trust myself wrenching on a bike with my limited knowledge though. Most of my knowledge (pretty scarce at that) comes from other riders and everyone seems to have different takes on almost everything. People have told me good and bad about Thunder Headers and every other pipe for that matter. So anyway back to pipes... I got the Vance Hines 2 into 1 pipes with the stage one kit. I believe that kit just replaces some external stuff on the engine or air intake. Should I expect a couple more horsepowers or nothing at all?

Pictures to help you determine who to vote for

Geeze what happened to this thread... Some other funny GW pics on this site. I absolutely love the one with George falling off the bike Classic... -
Ah yes I wish I could do it myself. The bike is fuel injected. To re-tune the bike for the new pipes and stage one kit that came with the pipes you have to be able to download the new specs or whatever. I just can't do that. Anything else I'll wrench but this was one of those better let a proffesional do it...

I have to say I am not the most mechanicaly inclined individual but I am learning. I know that the HS pro pipe has the adjustable baffle or disks. I think that's right. I know the bike is going up on the dynomometer. It's on '04 fuel injected bike. I am unsure if my mechanic is going to redirect the injection valves. That's the rejet right? I don't think it will be too loud.

Those are some sweet pipes! I did lots and lots of research on pipes. Thunder headers etc etc etc... I wanted performance and was not so focused on looks or sound. After reading reviews, checking out the performance charts and what not, I ended up going with the HS Pro Pipe (2 into 1). I have not ridden it yet with the new pipes since they're being put on right now but I can't wait. I find it funny though when you buy the bike they recomend loud pipes not for performance but for safety so that other motorist can hear you... My poor poor neighbours.
