  4. Funny because no-one got hurt but this story happened at a DZ one time........ Guy from out of town comes out to do a skydive. He had learned to skydive on a ripcord sytem. Well he grabs the rental rig goes and does a jump. 4,000 he waves off pulls the rip cord.....nothing....thinks he has a total and lets go of the rip cord to go for the cutaway pilow........bam main opens.....As he is giving the rig back to the packer he appologizes for loosing the rip cord and complaines about the hesitation at pull time..........Needless to say it was a pilot chute system................ Dude did his transition all on his own, wonder what was going through his mind though. SEBAZZ.......
  5. I just got an answer from someone regarding people under 18 jumping. We'll keep him anonymous.......... "What's new? From day one in the USPA SIM 16 year olds have always been able to jump, just not tandem, until June of 2001. When then new NPRM past through the FAA after about ten years of discussion. There was lots of stuff in the new NPRM not just skydiving stuff. In any case the age limit for jumping did not change, it is 16 years old. Now having said that, USPA and some of the manufactures don't agree, they think that it should be 18 years old or age where someone can sign a legal contract (Wavier). Just because it is legal to take someone from the age of 16 on a jump (tandem, AFF or static line) doesn't make it smart. If and when someone gets hurt and that person is a minor we will all pay the price. Can you imagine "Mad Mothers Against Skydiving." At each BOD meeting someone always wants USPA to endorse 16 year olds jumping on tandem since it is now legal, it won't happen bad idea. Each DZO that lets it happen is playing "Russian roulette."" 6. I did not realize that you could jump under the age of 18. Not in California anyway. Risk of lawsuit. It would seem to me that under 18 you have no rights. And at the same time no one person can waiver the rights for someone else? i.e. Parents. Wierd. SEBAZZ.......

    Question

Ms. Blondeflyer, I say kick your X in the balls, call him a "wuss" for being so controlling and insecure, grab your kid, teach him how to pack. My .02................ SEBAZZ.......
  13. He's in jail dude, prolly already used his one phone call.......... SEBAZZ.......
  14. It absolutely does, but has also been likened to scratching a Lions balls with a hot fork. You have to weigh the gains vs. the consequences of post whorin. I have never whored myself out on these forumns........
  15. Thank you. That is good info to know. I knew you could bring on your rig, but I just hate attracting attention. Recently i just check my rigs in a Somsonite suitcase so as not to cause a huff. I was looking at these cases called Pelican cases with foam padding you can pinch and pull at to make the perfect fit for camera gear, rigs , etc. Plus the cases are bomb proof. Just not theft proof It's prolly a horrible thing to say but from my perspective airport security personnel and other airport employees seem to be, lets say not the sharpest tools in the shed....... SEBAZZ.......
  16. Long time ago at my old home DZ the DZO used to say before every jump "You know if Sebastien see's anyone on this skydive it'll be the best jump he ever had!" Thats what I think about whenever I see people freeflying........... SEBAZZ.......
  17. 1,400 jumps / 960 posts ~ 1.45:1 SEBAZZ.......
  18. Doooooohhh Nice one.........
  19. I am not sure exactly what the question is. If it was the end of a long work day and I had time for a quick fun load the following would be my ideal / favorite jump..... Dirt Dive - Quick with lots of hootin and hollerin Plane Ride - Relaxed with lot's of smiles and light conversation and more seriousness as jump run approaches Plane Seperation - ?(exit?)? Smooth duh Right hand donut, 540, Left hand donut, Bipole, 540, Bipole........(my favorite throw together four way) Execution - Slow is smooth and smooth is fast........... Break off - 3,500 approx. Deployment - 2,500 approx Landing - All phatty swoops stopping within 5 feet of eachother.......... Beer:thirty
