This weekend I promise to spread love and good vibes to everyone at the DZ old timers and newbies alike and to hold my farts* until I am in freefall. (*am i contributing to pollution?), to touch my handles religously, recieve gear checks before every load, and gear check the cuties myself. I also promise to drink one beer for all 10,000 or so registered users here who can't get enough skydiving in thier lives they must come here to DZ.COM to spend their weekdays with other jumpers while pretending to work. I will pull high yet low, be safe yet daring, hook really high yet really low, pay my packer, tip my JM (wait I am a JM - Tip me), turn my AAD on (two rigs 1 AAD hmmmmmmm), and I will yell a big "THANK YOU~THANK YOU" to the skygods when my main opens, and most important of all...............I WILL BUY BEER! Lots n Lots of nectar of the gods... LOL to all...hope everyone has a kick ass weekend...

The new A proficiency card I believe requires the demonstration of an actual PLF on one of your landings. It is a neccesary skill to be able to perform with out a doubt. I think you may be misunderstanding the instructor or your friend. I am sure that the JM's tell your friend to be prepared to do a PLF at all times but not required for landing. Just common sense. If you can stand STAND! If not PLF.

Get the A and find a cheep used Jumpsuit for now. Or borrow someones old jumpsuit. Are you doing freefly or belly fly mostly? Get a sewing machine and sew your own suit..... -

This is a tough question to answer but I'll take a jab 1.Canopy would pack itself 2.Would atomaticaly adjust in size and have detachable cells (big for tight or off landings and super small for light winds and big wide open spaces)(nine or seven whenever i want) 3.Have like a mood canopy that changes colors with my mood. ("Don't pin him dude his canopy is in a bad mood") Oh and glow in the dark for night jumps Did I miss anything? Ok I'll take a bright florescent orange Stiletto 135 thank you..........

It depends like Tom said. At Monterey I very seldom received tips. At Hollister I recieve $10 to $20 quite frequently. I have no idea why because neither place promotes them. Is it customary? I do not think so............

I have worked at three DZ's in my short skydiving history. Mostly Monterey recently at Hollister and once at Skydive Santa Rosa. Tandems average about $30 per jump. AFF averages $30 as well. Demos you do for free (all the ones I have done are free) I will do coach jumps for free (I will pick up my own slot) I have always helped make the DZ it self run smooth in whatever way I can. Helping backed up packers, gearing up others students, helping customers waiver up and get the proper training, help pull the plane out of the hangar, etc. etc etc. These last duties I mentioned are all done in good will. Sometimes a jump ticket is given in paymnet though most times nothing is done to compensate. I really only care about getting acknowledged occasionaly. I am only a weekend JM. Mon through Friday I work the 9-5 grind.

There will be a point were you will not want to advertise that you are a skydiver because it will only bring you grief...... Work Airports Family and Whuffo get togethers etc. I becomes a pain in the boot.........
