it's why i skydive instead of golf. i only have to pay attention for brief periods, long term focus escapes me. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

oh no...... edited to add.. that will teach me to skim through a thread before replying instead of actually reading. no it won't. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

simple solution: buy two pies. eat one, and take a small slice out of the second one. tell her you tried it, but felt guilty and didn't eat any more. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i just stuck a gelaskin on mine and it worked great for a year and a half. until last week. i went to set it on my dresser and it slipped from my hand. my cat-like reflexes kicked in and i tried to grab it, but ended up punching it into my dresser instead. cracked the glass. it'll have to last another couple of months until the new model comes out though. totally better. i decided that i would avoid the main landing area after that so i wouldn't have to walk. and waving to our fans coming up the driveway in the back of the truck was fun too. what a cool event! i met a lot of dizzy dot commers. as usual, the mental pictures i had were completely wrong. i was going to try to list everyone i met, but i know i'd forget someone. andy, did you have the red can or the green? i'll make sure to bring more next time. karen, i never would have guessed that name.. wonder why i thought it was dorothy parker? thanks to divot for the dew, michelle for the pineapple death juice and i think it was bob for the psycho punch. i think i was still drunk driving out of georgia, hung over through most of south carolina, but by the time i got to north carolina i could open my other eye without seeing double. i got to jump with gonzo, bolas and billy vance on muff jumps. met a genuine smutskateer. got a skymama hug. heard my new sig line at the bonfire. met so many people that the part of my brain that's in charge of remembering that stuff threatened to stab itself with a fork. many thanks to all of you for making it worth remembering. almost got jon and myself in shit at walmart. (you have to register to buy sudafed?) i tried to assure the pharmacist that jon wasn't smart enough to make cookies, let alone meth. she just shook her head and said she was glad the security cameras didn't do audio. thanks to spence and his band of elves that kept the whole thing running so smoothly. you made it look easy, but i know it wasn't. thanks to scottie and tami for keeping us fed. them was good eats. see all y'all next time.

if it's like the viso (original), there are 3 different jump types. freefall, for normal jumps, slow fall for wingsuits, will log really long freefall times and student, which will record hop'n'pops. i noticed that my freefall time seemed long, and as near as i can figure, it sort of splits the difference on the time you pull to the time you're in the saddle as freefall. ymmv. MaterIALS id during Senior Rigger Practical
kingbunky replied to riggerrob's topic in Gear and Rigging
i took dave's course in 2009, there was no materials identification section in the testing. i remember the written test, the packing test, the oral test, and i believe we had to set a grommet as well. might have been some other stuff, but those were the main bits. oh yeah, both are still brewed and bottled (or kegged). when we have an event of some sort at the dz, we get them to blend a few kegs for us. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

the Pump House Brewery, a local place here in moncton makes a blend for us we call Free Fall Ale. it's a 50-50 blend of their red and cream ales that we came up with over several weekly sessions with one of their (now ex) brewers, who happened to skydive with us. the plan was to take the flavour we came up with and come up with a scratch recipe for it, but the head brewmaster and our buddy both quit. it's quite tasty without being so extreme that only beer snobs will drink it. Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars? Lawrence: I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man. Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time? Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money. Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks. Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do. Peter Gibbons: Good point. Lawrence: Well, what about you now? what would you do? Peter Gibbons: Besides two chicks at the same time? Lawrence: Well, yeah. Peter Gibbons: Nothing. Lawrence: Nothing, huh? Peter Gibbons: I would relax... I would sit on my ass all day... I would do nothing. Lawrence: Well, you don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Take a look at my cousin: he's broke, don't do shit. i think airtec gives a small discount on a new one if you return the old one. the batteries are soldered together, but if you really wanted the batteries i suppose you could separate them. they are a standard size, but i can't remember if it's c or d. probably not worth the trouble, unless you're really bored. velocity sports recommended a reserve slink. i think most manufacturers do. check with them if you really want to be sure. i use one at the dbag, and another one to attach the whole assembly to the top of the main canopy. no rapide links anywhere on my rig anymore. something to consider... contact you rig manufacturer first! some dbags have larger grommets that the slink can pull through. i had installed them on my rig (infinity) after asking the manufactuer if it was okay. a jumper at our dz got a new rig (wings) and wanted them as well. since i had two left from the set i bought, i went ahead and did it. second jump with the setup, he had a cutaway because the slink setup slipped through the grommet and collapsed his pilot chute before his canopy came out of the dbag. i made sure he understood that (at the time) i wasn't a rigger, and that my rig maker said it was cool but i didn't know about his. of course afterwards he (3000+ jumps) blamed me (~200 jumps then) for the whole thing.
