Of course, the picture is taken out of context. And of course, no one wants to see the context. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Mine was done by someone who had never seen a chute before. I took pictures of pilot chute, my wife converted them to line drawings. The artist took those and drew up an idea. When I was having it done, I took the pilot chute in with me and he looked at that for reference. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

I just got mine last month. I had 957 at the time. My wife bought it for me on the 10th anniversary of my first jump. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Precisely the reason why I waited until I was in the sport a few years (ten) to make sure I was going to stick with it before I got the tatt. And in a few years, the only people who will know I have it is the nurses at the home. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

OK, you asked ............ I'll show it again. On my upper buttockal area. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Would we be talking about John Howland ?? He is also an ancestor of mine. That would make us related !! -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

One point zero zero times ten to the third power !! (..... and in 1995 they were ready to hand me a bowling ball and send me packing ..... heh heh) -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Technically, it would be "cheekal" as the entire tatt is below the northern most point of the center line. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

It is my answer to the age old whuffo question, "What do you do if the reserve doesn't work?" I can now answer, "I just pull something out of my *ss !" -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Friday, June 4th was the 10th anniversary of my first jump! It was also my regular birthday. To celebrate, my wife bought me my pre-second tattoo. It is located on the upper right buttockal area. Whatcha think ?? -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

OK, here's the scoop. We are exiting at our normal altitude over "our airspace". By the time we are out of our area, we are low enough to be out of everybody's way. We are then flying under VFR conditions. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

The only real skills involved are picking out a landing area and landing without a windsock. What is the difference between picking a landing area close to the dropzone because of a bad spot and picking out one further away? And if you think about it, this is something that is taught in the first jump course. But you are correct, jumpers whose canopy skills are questionable or those who aren't comfortable landing off aren't the ones participating. Remember, the spot is only important if you care where you land. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Good question Buck. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer. I'll have to ask the pilot. My initial reaction (which is probably wrong) is that he doesn't have to do anything different because we are exiting directly over the dropzone and "drifting" away. I will check on it tomorrow. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

On occasion we do a jump we call "Reverse Cross Country". It is just like a regular cross country except we get out straight up and we just let the wind blow us away from the drop zone. The idea is just to let the wind take us to wherever it sees fit. Then you pick a landing area when you get to wherever it is you got. Last night we landed about 7.5 miles from the drop zone, but we have been as far as 13 miles out. Of course, a cell phone and a ride back home are pre-arranged. We call them "Reverse Cross Country" but do they have a real name? Anybody else doing these and have a better thing to call them? For that matter, can anybody come up with something for us? Thanks ! -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

My up and coming 666 Devil jump
Plummet replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My logbook reads "665-A". Coincidentally, it is the jump I made blindfolded. http://home.wi.rr.com/plummet/blindfold.html -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common. -
I am going to get a tattoo within the next couple of months. I have a very specific idea in mind, something that wouldn't be flash at any tat shop. I am artistically inept. I am looking for a skydiver who can take what I have in mind and turn it into a valid tattoo design. It isn't intricate or detailed, but I want it to look like what it is supposed to look like. It certainly would be worth a jump or two to me to have a design before I walk in. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

That dude has a pair swinging !! Surprised they don't scrape in the snow ! -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common. -
Buy the video, look at the website, hire a tutor even. Learn how to PRO pack. Then after the blood, sweat and tears (sometimes literally), have somebody show you a little thing called the Psycho-Pack. All of your packing woes will go away faster than a cutaway main. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

There you go! Make a run of 'em and I'll buy one or two !! -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Today, I made a skydive with my son! How cool is that?? Joshua is on a 10-day leave from the US Army where he is stationed in Germany. Before he enlisted, 1.5 years ago, he graduated AFF but ran out of time before getting his license. So, being that un-current coupled with the fact that his basic brain structure has been messed with by the Army, we decided a tandem was in order. He got up in the air again. THAT was what it was all about. I stung the tandem and got to fly with my son. I just find that awesome. Josh and I rockin' to the same tune. I am a happy camper. Alas, Josh heads back to Europe on Thursday. In a couple of months his unit is going to take a spell at playing in the sand. Chances are I won't get to see him for another year. But today, I get to brag about jumping with my son. BTW, I have also had the great pleasure of skydiving with my dad. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.

Icarus will make the canopy in whatever size you want, to include fractional sizes. I have an Omni 183.5 (don't forget the point five!). I would have been fine under a 183, but I wanted just *that* much extra for a safety margin. Actually, I just wanted to be different. The Icarus rep I talked to a year later, said that this was the only the second fractional sized canopy he'd heard of. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common.
